"You're the best, Queenie! Remember to come to work tonight. It's only for a few hours anyway, and you'll get your pay as soon as you clock off!" Paul looked gratefully at Queenie and heaved a sigh of relief.

As soon as she walked out, Severin said to her, "Why do I feel that there's something fishy with your manager? Judging from how he acted earlier, it seems like it's very important to him that you come to work tonight!"

Queenie did not read too much into it. "Two of the girls couldn't come, so they're short of people now. He just wants me to help cover for them tonight. I'll just do it since it's only one night. I can still quit once my shift's over."

"I still have the feeling that he has something ulterior motive!" Severin insisted on his point of view.
