“Then it’s decided. Our Hakan and your youngest daughter, Skye will marry.” Those were the conversation Skye had walked in upon returning inside the house, and if she was a lesser being and someone who doesn’t watch herself in front of others then she would have thrashed things by the doorway before rampaging inside the room where everyone was holding the discussion.

She was about to go inside the room when she heard someone breathing right behind her, acting on pure survival instinct, she turned around punching the one behind him. Before her fist could even connect with the stranger, it was caught by a hand and Skye was finally able to see who it was.

“Hakan. Sorry, I thought you were….never mind.” A sigh escaped Skye’s mouth as she turned back around, just in time for the door opened and out came Hakan’s parents and hers, as well as her twin whose eyes instantly went to her twin before wandering over to the man behind her.

“Ah Hakan and Skye, good thing that both of you are here. It has been decided, you will both get married to each other!” Hakan’s mother, Agatha, exclaimed in enthusiasm whilst clapping her hand, not noticing how the younger woman’s shoulders dropped but a fake smile was still plastered on Skye’s face.

“Should we let the two of them talk and get to know each other?” Skye couldn’t believe what she was hearing, her own mother, Anna Soleil Vailant, was actually instigating that she spend time with the man behind her. She did notice when her twin tried to stop their mother but Hakan’s mother had instantly agreed to the suggestion, eyeing her son and silently ordering him to do so.

A shiver ran down Skye’s spine when she felt Hakan release a long and deep sigh right by her nape, she had to bite her lips to stop the shriek that wanted to come out. Subtly turning her head, she gave the towering man a small glare that turned into a full-on fuming rage when the alpha just answered her glare with a smirk.

“Well, if Miss Skye wants to, I would love to take her out to the city and take her to dinner, if everyone is in agreement.” Hakan offered, his voice far different from the tone he had used when talking with Skye in the garden. He did his best to ignore the small scoff that left Skye’s lithe frame, clenching his fist to stop himself from lashing out verbally at the woman’s blatant disrespect.

“Oh, that would be wonderful. Skye why don’t you go and join Hakan in the city? Your father and I will take your sister home, once we’re done here.” Skye gave her mother a small faked smile, watching as Hakan’s parents led her parents out of the reception room, Zella trailing behind. Skye was about to face Hakan when a hand stopped her from doing so.

“I’ll try to convince mom not to go overboard. I am truly sorry about this Skye.” Came the whispered tone of her twins’ familiar voice. Skye turned to her sister before slipping both their hands together, noticing that they were now alone in the hallway. Skye squeezed Zella’s hand before pulling her elder twin to her and hugging her tight, tears pooling at the edge of her eyes.

Zella continued to whisper her apologies as Skye tried to comfort her sister. They stayed in the hallway for a couple of minutes, just so they could both calm down. Zella was truly Skye’s safe haven and vice versa, they were the only ones that could understand the other better than the rest of the world.

“Don’t ever apologize for something you couldn’t control Zella. I am fine, at the very least with this marriage you and my little niece or nephew will be safe. Remember what we promised each other when we were little?” Skye asked as she wiped her twin’s tears away with her thumbs.

“No matter what, we will be there for each other.” Zella started, her voice trembling as she matched her sister’s breathing pattern to calm herself down.

“No matter what, we will trust one another.” Skye continued, finally smiling genuinely.

“And no matter what, it will be the both of us against the world.” Zella ended as her twin nodded, a teary laugh coming out both of their mouths, as they finally calmed down. Skye held her twin’s head in both of her hands and kissed the elder’s forehead, Zella doing the same to her younger twin.

Unbeknownst to them, there was someone watching them from afar, or more particularly, someone overheard what they were saying to each other. Hakan stood still behind a pillar as his mind reeled at what he had just heard.

He had faced Skye earlier that day, and he had already seen a different side of the woman compared to what others in their college were saying, and now he was seeing a different side of her once more.

A vulnerable side of hers and those genuine laughs that left her lips woke something primal within his own system. He wanted to hear more, he wanted to hear her laugh more. It was addicting, enticing, and extremely seductive for him.

“Alpha!” Hakan was instantly and forcefully dragged out of his daydreams when he heard his title being yelled so loud that it echoed in the empty halls, stopping the hushed giggles that he had been savoring earlier. Peeking out from the pillar, he instantly took the man that called for him before dragging him away, upon being spotted by the twins.

He could swear that he heard another round of giggles as he left the house, a man trying to keep up behind him.

“What the fuck do you want?” he growled as they both stopped a couple of meters away from the house.

“Your, your mother ordered me to prepare the car and drive both you and Miss Skye to the city.” The man instantly replied, fumbling over certain words as he bared his neck as a sign of submission to the man. He didn’t have any clue what he had done wrong, he was only following orders yet now he had apparently evoked his alpha’s wrath.

“Go inside and escort Skye here, I’ll be waiting by the car.” Black eyes watched as the man scuttled away from the dominant Alpha and once the smaller man was out of sight, Hakan dashed over to the garage, his ears curiously flushed red.

The alpha watched as Skye’s demeanor changed once more, this one being her closed and aloof side, as she stood by the car waiting for him to finish talking with the pack member. Skye watched as three muscular men came out of the lush trees beyond the garage. Watching as they made their way over to where Hakan was standing, on the other side of the car. Her sky-blue eyes drilled holes behind Hakan’s head, flashing the three muscular men a smirk whenever their eyes would wander over to where she was. “Then, I’ll be leaving Richard in charge while I go out to the city. Skye had opted to listen to the Alpha, knowing full well that it was her clumsiness is the reason why she was alone now and her future husband was running ragged throughout the entire park area just to find some ice. The man’s tall muscular form eventually caught her line of sight as the man walked back to the car with a bag full of things. She stayed seated as Hakan opened the car door once more, pulling out a towel and small ice packets before placing them on her head, holding them with one hand before ruffling through the rest of the contents of the bag. Skye took it upon herself to hold the makeshift ice pack, a surprising grateful smile appearing on the Alpha’s face, as he continued rummaging through the bag. Hakan pulled out a bottle of water, opening it up before handing it over to her, “Drink some water. I don’t know what kind of snack you wanted but I got you a variety of things since dinner is still four hours away.” He said softly, as he opened up the plastic bag that has

Hakan didn’t know if taking Skye to this place was the best decision he had made or the worst because three hours later, they were still in the building and his arms are filled with a variety of stuff. Not that he really hated doing so when the owner of all the things he’s been holding on to for dear life was running around the entire place like a kid on Christmas day. The alpha had brought his intended to the mall, yes a mall, hence the reason why he’s trailing after her with an armful of things. Weirdly enough, Skye didn’t enter the clothing boutiques like he had expected her to do. It was not the clothes, nor the jewelry that attracted Skye, but it was the huge indoor amusement park and arcade in the mall. True it was amusing for the alpha to see how Skye’s eyes widen in awe as she stopped at the heart of the place before she spun around taking everything in with her mouth open wide and her feet doing a giddy step as she continued to look around. Hakan was able to convince Skye t

Hakan stood up from his kneeling position, their hands still attached. He stayed silent for a couple of minutes before eventually placing his other hand on her shoulder, relaxing when she didn’t flinch before carefully shaking her to get her out of her reverie. “Skye? Skye dreaded the next couple of hours of her life, and some may look at her and see what could pass off as an imitation of a zombie, but it was safe to say that she was un-bitten and was just sleep-deprived. As for the reason as to why she was experiencing this tirade of thoughts, being in a white room, holding a pale hand, with barely enough sleep would suffice an answer for some. It was far too early in the morning, the sun barely even present in the dark sky, three days after his date with the Alpha, had seen her inside the emergency room with her sister who was wailing in pain and clutching her stomach. She had been sleeping peacefully in her bedroom when she was woken by the unusual thuds coming from the wall of the next room and all sleepiness left her mind instantly when she realized that it was his twin that was weakly calling out for help while banging the door with a rock that she had in her room that was supposed to serve as a decoration, a souvenir from her trip to the be

“Now, do you have any preference regarding this matter? Like the venue, the guests, or the food? Anything at all, just tell me or Hakan and we’ll do it.” Skye forced herself not to recoil against the surprisingly strong grip of Agatha on her hand, the elder woman’s excitement bubbling and almost drowning Skye’s feelings regarding the matter. Taking a small glance in her husband-to-be’s direction and seeing no help coming his way, Skye swallowed the remaining protests barely clawing out of her throat before facing the elder woman with a practiced smile, one that she had on the first time they had met. “I am not a person who likes extravagance, I will leave the preparation mostly up to you. Although, if it’s no trouble, I would like to commission my clothes by myself.” She was hoping that Agatha would at least agree to her one small wish, if there was one thing she could control during all of these, it would be what she would be putting on her skin. Agatha nodded her head enthusiastic

It took Zella two more days before she was discharged from the hospital and sent back home with both her and the baby safe. Frankly, it was Skye who was most delighted by the news, she needed her twin to talk to. It might sound callous of her but she has no one to talk to but her, especially now that she had a lot of things that she wanted out of her mind. “Are you sure that you’re okay? Should you be walking around? What about food? What should you eat so we could avoid this again?” “Hush, Skye. Your sister is all right. The doctor has cleared both her and little munchkin, they’re both gonna be fine.” Skye looked at her mother with a raised eyebrow before taking a glance in her twin’s direction, receiving a wide smile and a small head tilt for an answer. “Now, Skye go ahead and help your sister settle back into her room, take her bag too.” Sending another baffled look toward her parents, Skye picked up her sister’s hospital bag before slotting her arm against her twin leading her

“I won’t repeat what I had already written in my letter, nor will ever use any other excuse for what I did. I take full responsibility for my words and actions. The moment those words left my lips, I regretted instantly and I know an apology is not enough to cover for the pain it cause you and your sister, so I will continue to carry that mistake all my life.” Skye looked at the man and Hakan stared right back to his fiancée’s blue eyes, determined to show her that he was indeed truly regretting his actions. And it shows, and Skye could see it. The proud alpha that she had met during their first meeting was nowhere to be found at the moment, instead, the man sitting across from her was slouching, hands were hidden beneath the table, probably being played by, and his onyx eyes boring a hole right through her soul. “Hakan, although I must admit, I am still incredibly pissed at you right till this moment, and even others wouldn’t be able to say otherwise. He put on the pen’s cap, placing it down, before raising his head and looking at his delta, Neil. “Ho-,” he let out a cough, trying his best to push away the embarrassment creeping up on him for letting his voice crack, “How did she take it?” He was NOT, definitely not panicking inside, as he placed his hands on his lap and started fiddling with it. Neil stared at his alpha and he couldn’t help but smile, it was the man’s small action like this that shows that he was still human, that he was not the unfeeling monster that some of the members of their society had portrayed him as, just because he had challenged his father for the alpha position within their pack. “Calm down alpha. Miss Skye allowed me in her home to place down the package and she instructed me to hand this to you.” Neil took out the preciou

“Knew it. This isn’t just ‘some’, Zella.” The elder twin released a sigh, this time of acknowledgment, as she too, stared at the spectacle laid right in front of them, with their father standing by their side this time and the culprit standing across them, wearing the most regretful face they had ever seen from her. “I know.” This time it was Skye who let out a sigh after hearing her twin’s answer before her attention wandered over to their mother. “Mom, what the heck? The table’s about to give up due to the amount of food here. We could eat this for the next three days.” If one was to see what was happening within the Valiant household, one would think it was Skye who was the mother scolding her child, with both hands on her hips, and their mother’s head was bowed and in a submitting position. It had not been the first time their mother had done it, and if the twins were honest, they were very much surprised that their family even had money to support each other. Their mother, ble

  • Legacy Wolves   A Letter

To say the least, a personally hand-written apology was not something Skye expected to receive a day after she had just told her betrothed to politely fuck off, not the words she had used but for lack of better phrasing, it was what she did. The letter had come in the form of a familiar tall and bulky man and if Skye was to trust her memory, she had already seen the man and knew full well where he was from. “I told your Alpha not to come here, and he sent you? Smart man.” Richard Aldrich was the beta of the Knox pack, yet he couldn’t help but adjust his stance against the wandering gaze of the smaller woman. “What brought you here? I truly wish it is not for your sorry excuse of an Alpha.” The hate lacing Skye’s voice was more than enough for the beta to take a quick step back. “Alpha Hakan,” another flinch from the man amused the smaller woman to no end, “Has sent me over to give you this.” The man hesitated for a bit but Skye watched as the man squared his shoulder before walking

The moment he had gone home, he knew he had fucked up. He didn’t know what had come over him but when he heard Skye’s words and how it was phrased, his wolf had come out even before he could suppress it and as a result, it had lashed out to the woman against his own will. Admittedly, he regretted the words that escaped his mouth the moment it happened. It was unbecoming of him, especially adding Zella to the conversation when the woman was just trying to help both of them. “I need to apologize to Zella, but god knows when Skye would allow me to ask for her forgiveness.” As far as he was concerned, how much he had grown to know Skye. She was the type of person who would hold grudges, especially against those she cares for, which unfortunately for him, was her twin, someone with whom he had lashed out with his uncouth mouth. Even if Zella did forgive him, a chance that he was slowly doubting by the second, Skye wouldn’t. He was sure of that, a hundred percent. She wouldn’t hear hi

“Come on, Skye. Hakan watched as Skye took both of their plates before giving them a serving with two pieces of garlic bread each before disappearing once more only to come back with a pitcher with red liquid and one with water before she went around the table pouring the both of them a glass. “Go ahead and dig in, I am just gonna check something back in the kitchen.” Zella stared at her twin with a knowing look before eventually starting to eat. “You do realize that you’ll continue to get embarrassed the longer you hide in here.” Zella’s words were a dagger that sliced through the silent atmosphere inside Skye’s room, the elder twins’ eyes were lazily wandering around every now and then and would stop right on her twins’ crouching figure on the bed. “Shut up. How would I know that he’ll be coming here all romantic like that.” Skye growled back at her sibling, sending the elder a small glare before continuing to hide her tomato-red face on her pillow, the blue, five-foot-long teddy bear lying right beside her on the bed. “Go to the bathroom and wash your face, I’ll go down and tend to our guest while you calm yourself.” Zella pushed herself off of the wall before leaving Skye’s room, making her way back down the stairs, nodding at the Alpha’s direction before detouring back to the kitchen where she prepared something to drink for the Alpha. “Skye will be down in a moment, she just needed to wash her face.
