Seraphina POV Callans voice came on the phone. Tears spilled down my cheeks as Allister held a gun to my pertruding belly. “Sera, Sera, are you there? Sera! Answer damnit!” He yelled on the other line of the phone. “I’m here.” I pretty much whispered. “Tell him,” Allister gritted through his teeth into my ear.“I–I’m not coming home, Callan.”The other end of the line went silent for a moment. “What are you talking about Seraphina, you are my fated mate, my Luna.”“I’m with Allister now, your King.” I said with a little more vigor. “Good girl,” Allister said into my ear before pressing a kiss to my temple. “You’ve got to b— this is some kind of fucked joke right baby?” “Afraid not,” I said flatly. Tears continued to fall down my cheeks as my heart broke into a million pieces. “Sera, I’m coming to see you, where are you?” Callan’s voice was furious now. “No.” I commanded. “Don’t. If you want the King to take mercy on our pack and our neighboring packs, you will listen to me.” I
Callan POVI instantly had shifted after getting off the phone with Allister and my mate. She couldn’t have the meant the words that she was saying. I knew that. I knew she was just trying to keep herself and the baby safe from the lunatic that had captured her. I let Archer take control as he ran threw the woods at a speed that was faster than I’d ever seen him run. ‘Mine. Mine. Mine.’ He kept chanting in our head. The full moon was coming and there was no way in hell I would miss this opportunity to get our girl back. Once Archer exhauster our wolf form, we ran back to the new pack house. As I walked inside I noticed some staff moving around in the kitchen and dining area. Most hadn’t spoken since the attack. Some had requested to be placed at a different dwelling in fear of their lives. I was starting to lose the faith of my people. Not only had the pack been attacked again, but now their Luna had been taken away. I didn’t blame them for feeling some type of apprehension toward
Seraphina POVEvery day was the same routine. In the morning Allister had breakfast with me in our room before he had the some of the house staff come and help me get freshened up for the day. Allister continued to keep me drugged so I was still awake but loopy enough that I still needed someone with me to do every day things. During the day I would either spend the day in the cottage that Allister’s father owned or I would stay in bed, like a good patient. I had been lucky to not have seen Allister’s father up until this point and had hoped it would have stayed that way. But today seemed to be the day that that would change. I was sitting the the recliner in the living room of the cottage watching some re-reuns of Friends when the front door when the front door busted open and a furious looking Reaper. The man that killed my mother. I looked at Margaret with a pleading look, hoping she could read my eyes to please get Allister. He was the only person who could keep his father in
Seraphina POV“What is the point of all this?” I asked while motioning to the area around us. “Why am I part of this? When it was you that cheated on me with your mate!” I could see the gears turning in Allister’s head as he calculated his answers. Black goo began to seep out of his nose again before he could speak up. He let out a curse, before getting up and grabbing a tissue off of the night stand. In the last twenty-four hours, his weird nose bleeds, had been happening more often than not. He tossed the black soiled tissue into the trash bin next to the bed, with the others before giving me an expression I couldn’t read. He sat on the edge of the bed and looked off at the far wall. “redire a mortuis.”“What?”“It means ‘to come back from the dead.’ In latin.” He turned to me with a level of fierceness that I didn’t know how to handle. I wasn’t sure if I should be worried that he would lash out at me or if this would be a conversation that would actually be helpful in terms of g
Seraphina POVI woke up the next morning with a lump in my throat, a pit in my stomach and a feeling of foreboding. Today was the today that I was going to die. There was no way that I would accept the mate bond from Allister. But I wasn’t the only one affected in this situation. I had my baby to think about. I held onto my stomach and began to cry. I had no idea what to do. I already had lost one child. Could I really allow myself to be so selfish and let my unborn child go through this as well? I had to make a decision, only I wasn’t sure I was going to be happy with the decision that I needed to make. Shortly after the tears stopped falling, a group of women came into the room and ushered me to get up and was taken to Reaper’s cabin. Flashbacks of the last encounter I had with him ran through my head when I walked through the front door. I still wondered what he was going to say the other day. Allister had made it clear that his dad stay away from me. But I wasn’t sure why. Wha
Allister POVI looked out the top of the temple with a glass of whiskey in hand. The sun was setting and the lanterns below gave the ceremony area a romantic atmosphere. It was perfect for my queen-to-be. All the pieces to my plan were slowly but surely moving into place. In just a couple more hours it would be time for me to take everything I wanted. I knew Seraphina was too selfless to allow her unborn child to die. She would allow my mark to take. Her bond to Callan would break and she would be mine once and for all. My sweet Seraphina thought that she had been sneaky when she had been eavesdropping. Instead, I knew she had been listening to my conversation with Angelica. In fact, I had been banking on it. I needed her to hear and think her beloved mate had cheated on her to bring her closer to me. I knew the story that Angelica had told me was a complete fabrication. Did something happen? Probably, but I knew Alpha Callan and I knew how it felt to have a fated mate bond. It wa
Callan POVI showed up to the ceremony in my mandatory white linen shirt and pants, early, however when I got to the temple hundreds of wolves were already waiting for the festivities to begin. Most gave me sypathetic looks, but some gave me dirty looks. As if I was an intruder. Those particular looks made me want to grab them by the collar and ask them what they would do if their mate was put in this situation. I could hear my heart in my ears as I tore through the crowd to the front towards the temple. As soon as I was about to get into the temple, I was apprehended by two guards and thrown into a small, closed off, garden area. “Your king will come and see you shortly,” the barrel-chested man said before leaving me to my thoughts. ‘You good?’ Drake said through the mindlinkI scrubbed a hand down my face. I was anything but good. He knew this. But I knew what he meant. He was asking if I successfully made it into the ceremony with no issues.‘Yeah, they have me in some garden ar
Seraphina POVI paced the cabin hall while mindlessly biting on my thumbnail. The plan that Reaper gave me running through on my mind in a loop. “We do have time to discuss specifics. We only have time to quickly strategize.”I looked at Kevin confused. “Strategize?”“On how to get out of this mess with my son.” I looked at him as if he had five heads. I tried to discreetly look around the room for anything that I could use as a weapon against Reaper. There was no way he was coming here to help me kill his son. “And why should I trust you to help me?” Reaper crossed his hands over his chest and licked his lips. “What other choice do you have? I don’t see any one else jumping in line to help.” I hated that he wasn’t wrong. What other choice did I have? I placed my hands on my baby bump, in efforts to protect my little girl from the unpredictable predator in front of me. “You will mark, Allister first,” Reaper started. I let out a sharp growl of protest before he put up a finger
