Chapter 17 Officer Michael

Vivian’s POV…

The atmosphere in the room turns tense as the sound of the shattered plate echoes through the house.

George's anger is palpable; his eyes are filled with rage. He glares at me, his fists clenched tightly.

"Go to the police station," he says through his gritted teeth. "Report the car that hit Megan. I don't have time for this right now. I need to be with her."

He turns abruptly and storms out of the room, leaving me there speechless at his outburst. I watch him leave, his figure disappearing from sight. Taking a deep breath, I gather myself and try to regain composure.

I pick up a piece of the broken plate, setting it aside. With calm determination, I begin to eat my breakfast, savoring each bite despite the lingering tension in the air.

The room is filled with a mixture of silence and the clinking of cutlery against the plate, the only sounds in the otherwise empty space.
