Ava led the girls to the cave, the fireflies lighting their way. As they settled in, the girls looked at each other nervously. Many questions were twirling in their mind. They looked at Ava with mixed emotions, probably wondering about her double identity as a wolf and a human being. However, since she had saved them, they had no reason to be afraid of her, or her strange friends; fireflies, fawn and the owl, which did not enter the cave with them. Ava drifted off to sleep, her mind still reeling from the day's events. But as she slipped into the realm of dreams, she found herself standing in a familiar, silver-lit forest. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the soft chirping of crickets provided a soothing background hum. As she wandered through the forest, the trees grew taller and the path grew narrower, until she came to a clearing. In the center of the clearing stood an enormous tree, its trunk glowing with a soft, ethereal light.And there, standing before the tree, was the Moon Goddess. The ageless goddess with silvery wispy hair, heaped upon her head and caught in place with the flowery crown. Her eyes were blue color showing her deep love for Ava. Clothed in flowing white gown with white shoes on her pretty feet, Moon Goddess kept shining with that ethereal light, invisible to the eyes. She knew she had spent about a month in the forest, remembering the full moon last night. The lovely cave had become more than a home to Ava. It had become her family house, her military base, meeting headquarters, her social club and her fortress, a place of refuge from the harsh weather of the forest, and the cruel rogues. Ava looked around the homely cave, hidden within the Gingham Forest. She glanced at the entrance, guarded by a tapestry of tangled foliage and gnarled branches, which made the cave blend easily into the surrounding landscape, like a chameleon, making it nearly invisible to the unsuspecting eye. Ava drew in the scent of damp earth and aged stone, synonymous with the cave. She listened to the sound of dripping water echoing off the walls, a soothing melody to lonely souls.
