LILA THE PEACEMAKER

Few days later, Ava opened the door to find a servant holding a lavish bouquet.

"For you, miss," he said, handing her the flowers.

Ava's curiosity piqued, she checked the card.

"Lila."

Surprise mingled with wariness. Ava wondered what game Lila was playing now. Had she given up on Sebastian. Lila’s attempts at seducing Sebastian was still fresh in Ava’s memory. It was not as if she herself was fully into Sebastian yet, but she just would not fight over a man with another woman. If a man could not decide to fully focus on her, then such man would not be worthy of her. She knew her worth, she would not belittle herself.

Ava entered the lodging house, flowers in hand, she stood in place, waiting for Becca to notice her.

"Who's the admirer?" Becca wondered whether it was Max or Sebastian.
