Diana St Germaine was too caught up in her many shopping bags to notice her father or the guests in their London apartment.
Only when she turned around to drop the bags on the floor did she notice that she wasn't in the apartment.
"Oh hi father!" She greeted her father once she got over the natural shock of seeing him at this time of the day. Philip St Germaine was a workaholic and he was barely home.
"Diana," Philip St Germaine acknowledged his daughter. "There's something I need...." His overly cheerful daughter interrupted him before he could finish."Hold that thought." Diana walked back to the door. "You can come in." She said to someone who turned out to be the doorman. "Put them on the floor and be careful." She instructed the doorman."Good God Diana, we talked about this!" Philip chastised his daughter."I know I know but I just couldn't help myself." Diana sounded anything but sorry for almost buying the whole store. She turned to the doorman. "You are a lifesaver, thank you so much!" She kissed him on both cheeks."Diana!" Her father scolded her. "We have guests, behave yourself!"And that's when Diana finally acknowledged her father's so called 'guests'. Apart from her father, there were four people with him, two women and two men, but she only had eyes for one of them.
The handsome man dressed in a sharp velvet dark suit really caught her eye. She was instantly smitten and impressed by his fashion sense, unlike the other three who were dressed in matching white uniforms.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" Diana said as she walked further into the apartment.
Her father was right behind her as they joined the others in the living area.
Diana barely looked at the other three, all her attention was on Mr Dark Prada suit. "Hi, I'm Diana." She said as she offered him her hand.
To her delight he brought her hand to his lips. "Hello Diana." The gentleman. "I think your father was right, you and I are going to get along just fine."
Diana frowned. "You talked to my father about me?"
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about." Her father said. "Diana, this is Marcus Navarro....."
Diana's eyes in shock. "Oh my gosh!" She practically shouted, causing Marcus to cringe. "You are Marcus Navarro! I thought you looked familiar but I just told myself no way you are Marcus Navarro. Omg, you even look more gorgeous in person!"
"Diana, calm down." Philip said, trying to control his daughter who was going on and on about how hot she thought Marcus was.
"Oh let her," Marcus drawled sarcastically. "At least she finds me attractive."
"Of course I think you are attractive, most of my friends fancy you!"
"Jesus, is she always like this?" Marcus asked Philip who was equally irritated.
Philip sighed in exasperation. "Will you please wait in the other room." He told the other three who had yet to say a word.
Once it was just the three of them, Philip addressed his daughter. "Diana there's something I need to tell you."
"Oh, what is it?"
"There's a reason why Marcus is here and it has to do with you."
Diana frowned once more. "Me? Oh my God did I do something?" She looked at Marcus. "Are you here to sue me or something?" She was genuinely panicked.
Marcus shook his head, ignoring her. "What am I getting myself into?" He muttered under his breath.
"No Diana, you are not in any in trouble." Her father assured her.
"Oh thank God, I was worried for a moment." She actually sounded relieved. "So why is he here?"
"I'm here because I'm going to marry you." Marcus said before her father could tell her. "Today." He added as Diana continued to look at him like he dropped a bomb, well he kinda had.
"WHAT?" This time she actually shouted.
Now that Marcus was faced with his nuclear option, he started to realize just how much he had taken Angelique for granted. The blonde nightmare before him had been pacing around the apartment like a crazy person for a while now. Surprisingly she hadn't taken the news of their upcoming nuptials well.As soon as Marcus had been introduced to the bombshell that is Diana St Germaine, he had immediately assessed her and realized she was nothing but a spoiled materialistic brat who enjoyed squandering her father's fortune. And since Marcus had so much more money than Philip St Germaine, he had assumed Diana would jump at the opportunity to marry him.But no, she looked anything but thrilled by the idea of getting married to him. What was her game?"Diana?" Philip said after a while. "Will you say something?" He asked his daughter who was unusually quiet.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome Mr and Mrs Marcus Navarro to the dancefloor!"Cheers and applauds were all around them as they made their way to the dancefloor. They had done it, they had tied the knot."Do you like the dress?" Diana asked her new husband as they danced to one of her favorite song, Snowman by Sia."Do you like the dress?" Marcus asked back.Diana shrugged. "It's alright.""Just alright?" Marcus twirled her. "That dress cost me a lot of money!""So? It's not like you can't afford it, Mr Billionaire." She added teasingly. But even Diana had to admit Marcus and his team had practically performed miracles for her 'last minute' perfect wedding.Turned out those three people in white were stylists and Diana couldn't contain her joy whe
Diana had never actually had the pleasure of personally interacting with Angelique Mackena. She only knew her by reputation and now that she was in the same room with her, she had to admit her reputation proceeded her.The brunette model looked sensational in a red satin dress. She was effortlessly beautiful and easily the center of attention. Most women would be resentful and very jealous of how Angelique easily stole the show and Diana was one of those women.Angelique may have been a famous top model but this was her wedding day and there was no way in hell Diana was going to let her steal her moment or the attention of her new husband, who had been starring at the model for far too long now."Who is she?" Diana asked her husband.Marcus cleared his throat and finally looked away from the other woman. "Just an old friend." He replied swiftly.Diana wasn't buying that. "Doesn't seem so old to me."
As Diana watched Marcus and his 'old friend' she realized two things, one being the fact that a real bride who was inlove with Marcus would have dragged Angelique by her perfect hair and scratched her eyes out and two being that Marcus had lied, there were far from old friends. Anyone who saw them interact could see that there was an unspoken intimacy between them and anyone who wasn't dense could easily tell that the other woman was crazy about Marcus. "Now that's your competition." A voice drawled from behind her. Diana tore her gaze away from her husband and his so called friend to look at the gentleman behind her. "Sorry?" The handsome gentleman smiled at her. "I didn't mean to startle you. I'm Sebastian, your husband's cousin." He introduced himself. "Oh hello, I'm sorry it's been a long day....." She started to apologiz
"So you can be quiet?" Marcus sounded genuinely curious, as if the question had been bugging him for a while now.Diana looked over at him in the SUV that were driving them to Marcus's house. "Just enjoying the ride." Was all Diana said.Truth was she was exhausted but what truly had her so glum was the fact that her own father hadn't bothered to at least say goodbye to her.The least he could have done was check on her before sending her off with a stranger, especially since it was his idea to bulldoze her into this marriage."Why aren't we going on a honeymoon?" She asked absent mindedly. "Won't people notice and ask questions?" She didn't actually care about what people thought but she knew he did, after all he had married a total stranger just for the sake of his public image, thats how much he cared about his public image."A honeymoon was never part of t
The bright light of the morning sun woke up Diana. She opened and closed her eyes before fully waking up.The first thing she noticed was that she was alone in Marcus's bed, he had left her and because she slept like a rock, she couldn't tell when exactly he had left her.Damn it! What was his problem?"Good morning Mrs Navarro."Diana was startled by the middle aged woman in her bedroom, well Marcus's bedroom. How distracted was she by Marcus's absence that she hadn't noticed this woman?"Bloody hell! You scared me!" Diana shouted but mostly because she was irritated with Marcus and not this woman."I'm sorry Mrs Navarro," the woman apologized, making Diana feel bad for her outburst. "I didn't mean to wake you, or scare you."Diana sighed. "It's okay. Who are you anyway and what are you doi
Marcus was fuming, for so many reasons and one of them was the face that Diana has defied him, again! He was already having a tough enough morning with what happened last night, and his mood only got worse when his housekeeper informed him that 'the lady of the house', Diana, had forbade her from removing his clothes from his bedroom. What was that girl's problem, apart from the fact that she seems to get off on testing him patience and his self control? He marched to his bedroom, ready to lay down the law and show just who exactly was in charge. But before he could even enter his room, he had loud music coming from the inside. What the hell, did she think that this was some kind of a nightclub? He barged into his bedroom and for a second he couldn't recognize it. What had she done? There were clothes everywhere, on the floor, on his bed. Everything was just so
There was nothing in the world better than an unlimited credit card . Well maybe flaunting that credit card in the same store where the bitch of a sales assistant was rude to you last month when she thought you were a nobody is also a great but it's a close second compared to the joys of shopping your heart out with no worries of being cut of or reprimanded by your father. And that's exactly how Diana felt as she tried on clothes in the third store she had visited that day. "So how do I look?" Diana asked the saleswoman who looked anything but excited to be doing her job. "Dashing," the other woman said. "You look stunning." Diana didn't miss the hint of sarcasm in the woman's voice. "Really, isn't it too short?" Diana asked as she twirled around in the poker dot black and white dress. "Plus it has too many dots and I have always had this phobia of spots...." "Oh my God!" The s
Marcus ignored his housekeeper's judgemental glare as she excused herself from his office. He had declined dinner, choosing whiskey in favor of whatever Charlene had made. Of course the older woman didn't approve of Marcus's drinking, and with good reason too, but she didn't say anything about it.And it was a good choice on her part because with the mood Marcus was in right now, he would have probably fired her if she had dared spoken out of turn.As he downed the rest of his drink, he thought about how much his life would be easier if Angelique hadn't backed out of marrying him last minute. She was a professional and she fancied herself in love with him so she wouldn't cause any problems for him and she certainly wouldn't defy the way that little brat Diana did.He still couldn't believe she had slapped him but what pissed him off the most was the growing friendship between her and Sebastian. He didn't like it on
"I forbid you to see Sebastian ever again!" Marcus barked as they entered their mansion. Diana starred at him like he had lost his mind. He had been silent the whole trip back to their house and now he dared to shout at her, who did he think he was? "Excuse me?" "You heard me! You will not see him again!" He repeated, louder this time. "That's what I thought you said but guess what, I will be seeing him again whether you like it or not." She huffed and started to walk away but he grabbed her arm to stop her. "What did you just say to me?" Marcus asked her, his grip on her tightening. "You heard me!" Diana shouted back. "I'm not going to stop seeing my friend just because you can't handle it." "Friend?" Marcus scoffed. "He's not your friend. He's just getting close to antagonize me." &nbs
It turns out Sebastian was actually pretty good at his job, Diana had to give him that. With so little effort, he had managed to get Diana to indirectly confirm that she didn't know much about Marcus's past which begs the question, if they were so in love how come they didn't know much about each other?"You don't know Eva?" Sebastian asked her.Diana looked away from him. "Well, ummm...." She didn't know what to say, she didn't want to give away any clues about what was really going on in her marriage. "Marcus and I don't really talk about past relationships." She looked back at him,Sebastian eyed her with skepticism. "Hmmm, that makes a lot of sense." Of course he didn't buy that but Diana knew he was too smart to outright ask what he really wanted to know.Well, two could play that game. "But you can tell me about Eva. I really want to know." And she did,
