I KNOCKED three times on the door of the library where my daddy had his office. I heard no response from inside but I went in anyway.

I caught my father drinking this expensive wine. His glass is half full.

"Dad," I called him but he didn't look back. I came and stopped at the opposite table. I know that he might not be in a good mood because of what happened but I would like to talk to him more. I don't want him to blame himself because we are not to blame for what happened to his sister.

He turned to me later and placed the glass he was holding on the table. Daddy stood up and hugged me without saying a word. Even though I was surprised, I retaliated.

For a while, I could feel the tremors of his body. "I-I didn't expect everything to come to this, Rain. Yes, I prayed to God that my sister would repent and face the law, but I didn't pray for her to disappear."
