CHAPTER 50—Reasons

Rain's Point of View

WE HAD JUST finished eating when my cell phone rang. I excitedly picked it up thinking it might be Ali but I was stunned when I saw the caller's name was Von.

Mommy frowned when she noticed that I wasn't answering that.

"Why, Rain? Who is that?" she asked. She accompanied me to eat so I wouldn't be sad.

"It's Von."

"That new acquaintance of yours who is your schoolmate?"

I nodded. "Yes, mom."

"He was also here the night Ali proposed to you, wasn't he?"

"Yes." I looked at the cell phone that still hasn't stopped ringing. "Just excuse me, mommy. I'll just answer this." My mommy nodded so I answered the call. "Hello?"

"Rain! How are you? It's good that you answered my call. I've been worried about you since last night."

I took a deep breath before answering him. "I-I'm fine. Don't worry."

"Are you sure? When you want someone to talk to, I'm right here, huh?" he said with a hint in his voice that he was really concerned about me.

I smiled somehow. "

No one else knows that I love going to this place because when I went to the amusement park, I was young and mom could still walk well."Are you happy?" Ali asked why I turned to him."Yes but how did you know that I like it here?"He smiled at me. "One of the things your abuela bought me was to take you to the amusement park."I was stunned and sadness immediately enveloped my chest. "Is that true?""Yes." He let out a deep breath."Do you know that he bought a lot from me before he disappeared?"I just looked at him while listening to what he was saying. My heart is filled with sadness. I miss my abuela and even if I try to stop it, the tears really come to my side. I avoided looking at Ali and simply wiped my eyes."Once, he also told me to take you to South Korea, Canada and even Japan."I laughed. "Why?""So that you can visit beautiful

I swallowed and felt my face turn red when I saw Ali's sexy and beautiful body shape. His abs are almost shiny because of the sweat that is hit by the sun's rays.I was about to drop the tray when I was startled by the call of mommy who was already looking at me. She was sitting in a wheelchair while setting up the table where I should place the carrying tray."Rain, I've been calling you for a while but you're not paying attention to me. Are you okay?" she asked, looking at me.I turned for a moment to Ali who seemed to not be able to hear or see us as mother and daughter. I look back here. "Y-yes, mommy." I went even closer to place the tray on the bottom of the table. I also fixed myself. It was my mommy who removed the plates and glasses from the tray and moved them to the table. Mommy waved at this so my friend's smile grew wider."Hi, Von! It's good that you accepted my invitation to come here for lunch," said my mommy. "Sit down." He pointed to an empty chair on the other side and I was on the other side. Mind you, it's between me and Von and Ali and I are almost next to each other."Can I refuse you? I was looking for Ali because he didn't come back to the garden earlier. I found him inside the library with my daddy talking about something. I knocked there first to get their attention."Yes, Rain?" asked my daddy sitting on the swivel chair. Ali was sitting on a chair in front of the table.I slowly entered and exchanged glances with the two. "Ahm, I was going to say goodbye to you, daddy.""Are you leaving?" Ali asked me. Our pictures are beautiful.I smiled but that's how surprised I was when I saw that his profile picture had changed. When I visited Ali's account, I automatically smiled and bit my lower lip because of the overwhelming joy I felt. It was a picture of the two of us while we were on top of the Wheel of Fate. I smile beautifully while Ali stares at me.It seems like little butterflies want to escape from my stomach. I adjusted my seat and it had a heart reaction.Ali: Is my profile picture okay?Rain: Sure. That's sweet, huh!I thought that our profile pictures should also be changed to be a couple, so I bought a nice picture. I chose the Flying Fiesta picture with Ali on my shoulder. I entered the school because it was only a few minutes before eight o'clock."Rain is here," said Sol who called me earlier. Our other companions approached. I gave them my paper and Sol arranged it. "Sit here first. I will bring it to Ma'am Celis' faculty."That's what our classmates did. I'm not familiar with all my classmates because I'm not a friendly person. I was just in a corner with all my attention on my cell phone and looking at my social media. I almost fainted when suddenly someone grabbed my cell phone and when I saw that it was Von, I almost chased after it with a slap of my hand."Hey, just kidding!" he said, panting. I was embarrassed because my voice wasn't that good, but he tried to make me sing."You have a beautiful voice, Rain. Who said you don't have a good voice?" asked Azariah. It seems that he has been hearing me say that my voice is not good.I didn't answer right away. I honestly don't remember who told me when I was young that my voice was not beautiful. They said it's better if I just dance because my body is a bit soft."I don't remember who Uncle Eliseo told me or who he was talking to at that time. I was still young when they told me that. Then those who heard laughed." I don't want to say these things anymore because it's been a long time. I'm still young."Ah, so it's Uncle. Fortunately, the boat we were on had a roof so we were not directly exposed to the sun."Are you okay?" Ali asked me.I didn't answer right away. I've been bothered by things for a while now but I don't want to ask Ali. Do I feel that he will get annoyed with me if I keep asking him questions? All the things that happen to us make me question why it happens.I sighed before trying to smile at him. "I'm fine. Nothing will happen if I'm not going to be okay, right?”Ali squeezed my hand. Thank you, Ali?”"For what?""For taking care of me and my family.""You are always welcome. I will do everything to ensure your safety." I felt him kiss my forehead so I closed my eyes.It feels so good to be cared for and protected by the person I love. They will go out to buy a charger,” answered Azariah."Do you think, Dad, can they come here to the rest house?" I asked while my attention was on daddy. Even my companions are also looking here. Before dad bowed and he bowed and took a deep breath. He looked at me. "It is possible, Rain, but they themselves said that they will not come here. Because they need to be sure that no one can follow them. Ali and Von just want us to be on the list, especially you and Azariah.” Dad exchanged glances with my cousin and me.I felt Azariah grab me with a free hand that wasn't holding the cutlery."Your daddy is right, Rain," said mom. Von was our helper to somehow keep Ali away and not notice what we were planning to do. I took a deep breath. I took a shower and put on light makeup. I dried my hair with a hair blower and just put a gold hair clip on it.I was in front of the mirror trying to study the smile. No matter what I do, I smile and the nervous feeling is still on my face. A part of my heart is also afraid that the plans might come to nothing. Maybe Ali is mad at me and won't accept my apology. When I found out about Elise's true personality, I felt very guilty. I feel like I have a very bad girlfriend. The type that I don't trust the most loved one who did nothing but ensure my safety. My heart sank again because I felt sorry for Ali. CHAPTER 102—Elise's PlanRain's Point of ViewAs dad said, we will tie up at the rest house first. Our other relatives didn't know that, even Aunty Merceditas. Azariah just got why I can say that that house is really secret. As far as I can remember, I have only been there twice. That rest house is nice. It's on the side of the beach and it's quiet. There aren't many houses around us so it's like that. Also far from civilization. When we got out of the car, I was so amazed.I rode in dad and mom's car while Von, Azariah and Elise rode in Ali's car. Earlier Dad forced me to ride there but I refused. I really don't want to see or be with Ali. We didn't break up but I think that's the way it is.Am I hurt? Of course. Just last night I cried and cried and fell asleep doing that.
