Darren shook his head and looked ahead with a convicted expression as he walked out the front door and locked it. He stood by the door, facing it as he thought for a long while before turning to look towards the wilderness in the distance, seemingly in thought.

" That was really close" he told himself, slowly walking ahead across the porch as the wind blew at him. Darren couldn't help but wonder if things would have to continue like this. He wondered if he will keep having to be lucky, or have to bring himself to tell Kyley the truth at some point.

At least, if he did, they wouldn't have to hide the fact that he had to leave her at home every night any longer.
