A few days after the unsettling threat, Lune was surprised when there was a knock at the door, and the maid announced that her parents had come to visit. Lune’s heart skipped a beat. She hadn’t seen them since the wedding, and their arrival felt both unexpected and comforting.

Her father nodded in agreement, his hand resting comfortingly on her shoulder. “You’ve grown so much, Lune. It’s so good to see you happy.”
