CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE | LUNA OF THE BLOODMOON PACK ALENA I am pacing in agitation, still trying to fully understand the fact that I am the new Luna of the Bloodmoon pack. I mean, I knew that I was going to become the new Luna once Nathan mark's me, but I didn't know he would be marking me so soon. Hell, I didn't know he will ever mark me at all. I was desperate for him to mark me that I totally forgot the responsibilities that come with it. How the hell does he expect me to be the Alpha female of the strongest pack in the world? I am weak and still young...too young for that.I shake my head vigorously and move to stand in front of Nathan who has been staring at me in amusement. “I can't do it, I am too young and too weak to take up a responsibility like that. I won't do it." “You think you are too young to take up a responsibility like that?" Nathan inquires with a grin. I nod my head again, hoping that he understands me this time since he seems to not understand what I said befo
CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX | STRIPPER ALENA I am sure she is just exaggerating, I couldn't have been screaming that loud... right? O my Goddess, I was screaming, if Lucinda heard, that means others also heard. Great, now they would all think I am some kind of whore or something. “I wasn't screaming that loud was I?" I nervously ask Lucinda. “You were not screaming that loud." She says.I sigh in relief, but my relief is short-lived. “You were screaming like the world was about to come to an end and the only thing that could save you from dying was screaming about how good Nathan was screwing you." I gasp at her words, horror taking over my features. “You are exaggerating, right? I was not screaming that loud...yes right?" I ask, desperately shaking her shoulder. I don't think I would be able to leave my room if what she is telling me is true. “The whole pack heard your screams, Alena." I just stare into space, not knowing what to say. I just wish the ground would open up and swallo
THIRTY-SEVEN | RUMORS ALENAA stripper, someone just called me a fucking stripper. I know I am hot and all, but not hot enough to be a stripper. Everywhere became silent the moment the person screamed that I am a stripper. I am still trying to figure out how and why anyone would think I am a stripper. “Who said that?" Nathan's voice echoes around the silent hall. The tone of his voice tells me that he is angry. I am not sure why he is angry though. Is it because someone called me a stripper? Or the fact that someone interrupted him?No one seems to be ready to admit that he or she said it. Not so brave anymore I see.“Come out now," he commands. A muscular giant of a man comes out. He bows his head and stands up straight. He blatantly ignores me, acting like I am an invisible housefly or some shit like that. The annoyance on his face is visible even as he tries to ignore me.I see I made some anti-fans in my short stay here. “What makes you think that my MATE and your LUNA
THIRTY-EIGHT | BETRAYALALENAThe voice of the person is one I would recognize even in my sleep. It's the voice of a person I thought I could trust, a person that I thought was my friend. Now I don't know what the hell to think again and who the fuck to trust. Lucinda walks out of the crowd, looking ashamed and embarrassed. She bows down slightly and stares at me straight in the eyes. The remorse in her eyes is genuine, but I don't know if I can believe or trust her again. Has she just been pretending to be my friend and at the back was talking shit about me?Is this some sort of revenge for what happened in the pack hall some weeks ago? I and Nathan don't speak, we just silently glare at an embarrassed-looking Lucinda.I wouldn't have been surprised if it was Clementina that did it, in fact, she was my first suspect, but Lucinda...I didn't expect something like this from her. I can't believe I thought she was my best friend. “Explain yourself," Nathan commands impassively, no
CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE | CHAOTICALENA Werewolves are running here and there.Guards are trying to put the fire out. Mothers are trying their best to protect and comfort their children, even with panicked tears falling from their eyes. Guests are screaming at our pack members to do something. Nathan has been trying to find a way to get everyone to safety. Lucinda wouldn't leave my side to help, due to Nathan commanding her to protect me. It is safe to say that everything is fucking chaotic. They have been trying to get everyone to calm down so that we can all try to find a way out before we all burn to death. So far, it hasn't worked. The more they try to get them to be calm, the more they get freaked out. An explosion sounds from the far end of the ballroom. I scream in absolute fright. People scream in horror. This is obviously not a coincidence, someone intentionally set the room on fire. I frantically look around, trying to figure out a way to get the pack members to safe
CHAPTER FORTY | A MURDERER ALENAI grip the dagger like my life depends on it. Technically, it does. We have a plan, an unorganized plan...but a plan anyway. I just hope that it will work. If it doesn't, then I am afraid a lot of us would be joining the moon goddess on the moon, or wherever the hell she is. I signal to the young girl, Matilda. She nods her head and signals to the others. Taking the cue, they start throwing things at the rogue's, ranging from shoes to parts of the fallen building...anything they could find is what they threw. Startled, the rogue's look towards the source and growl. They leave their post and furiously make their way towards the others. My heart is beating erratically and my palms are sweaty and shaky. I know I have to be brave and keep myself calm for the plan to work, so I take a deep calming breath and pray that I don't get killed. I stay hidden behind a table of food that was meant for the ball. Once the rogue is close enough, I lunge at h
CHAPTER FORTY-ONE | DEATHNATHAN I have been sitting on her bed for about two hours now, hoping and praying to the moon goddess that she is going to be fine. I don't know what I will fucking do with myself if anything happens to her. I should have stayed with her. I should have protected her. I shouldn't have let her get hurt. I observe her sickly pale skin, noticing that her wound hasn't healed yet. I know there is more to her than she shows. There is more to her weakness. A regular wolf would have been almost healed by now, but Alena heals at the pace of a normal human...and she isn't as strong as the average werewolf. Something happened to her that made her this way, and I would make sure I find out and hurt everyone who hurt her. “How is she?" Lucinda asks from the entrance of the hospital room. I grunt in response, not turning to look at her. I am still angry at her. It is her fault that Alena is lying on this bed, fighting for her life right now. The only reason Lucin
CHAPTER FORTY-TWO | THE INVESTIGATIONNATHAN Black. All I see is black. I look to my left, and then to my right. It is still the same...black. I wish it is different. I wish we all don't have to gather here to mourn the death of our family. I can only wish, I can't do anything about it. We decided that we would be burying the dead the next day after the incident. Yesterday, I summoned the surviving pack members and offered my condolences. It was then that we agreed that it is best to bury them the next day. So here we all are, gathered in the cemetery, sending our families to the moon goddess. It is so fucking painful watching the broken heart of my subjects. I wish I could do something to help, but this situation is past my hands. I join the other wolves when they howl while facing the moon. The usual rites are performed and the burial is over. Once everything is over, I leave my position at the front to look for Lucinda, Caleb, and Ralph. We have something important to
