Ruby made sure she got to school earlier than she used to. She avoided all distractions and chit chat and rushed to her class.

She did not want to deal with having to walk through students that would gossip to her face and laugh at her due to the last day's embarrassment Damien gave to her.

She taught about not going to school till everything goes down but she knows the students so well that no matter how long she stays at home, they will remember the last thing that occured before her staying at home.

Another reason is that they will get the fact that it was because of the incident, meanwhile she wants to make it look like she wasn't moved by the incident.

Another major reason why she had to be in school is that her brother will never allow her to stay at home when she is supposed to be in school unless she is sick.
