CHAPTER 13 - MATES

AXEL'S POV

Sh*t! I should have locked my door before having such a conversation, I wondered how long he had been standing there and what he had heard.

If there was anyone that I avoided hurting in life, it was Zephyr. Zephyr had been through so much during his days as a lone wolf when he went missing and when he had returned, he had to go through series of therapy sessions to get him to be as stable as he was now.

"Shoot man, what just happened?" Tyler was vividly concerned because he also knew how fragile Zephyr was.

"I do not know, I think I need a drink." I strolled over to the cellar in my room, took out a bottle of bourbon and poured out a glass for myself.

I gulped it all down at once.

"I could use a glass too," Tyler pushed his glass forward and I poured into it. We drank in silence for a while, my mind raced at what could be going through Zephyr's mind.

I did not go after Zephyr to tender an explanation because I honestly did not have an explanation at my disposition to offer
