Chapt 58: A Doubt

"I told you not to come. Why are you so desperate?" asked Abby as she and Zac sat on the shore enjoying the cool but warm afternoon air. "I wanted to be alone. This relationship makes me feel different."

"Don't you like our relationship?" urged Zac, unsatisfied with Abby's attitude towards him lately. Abby seemed trying to keep her distance, and he had to know why.

Abby shook her head. "I don't know, Zac. You should have understood me well enough all along. I've never had an intense relationship with anyone. Just best friends, never a boy. I feel so awkward."

"Then let's get used to it. Abby, humans are bound to experience different phases in life. And we have to experience that. Think of it as a phase of your life where you have to accept someone into your life."

"Is this a form of coercion?"

"I'm not coercing. Just giving you a look so that you don't feel that our relationship is a burden."

"We used to be partners."

"Even now, we're still partners, but, Abby, we're going to be life
