Chapt 19: Punishment

Zac woke up in bed; he looked around the room he had only recognized a few hours ago but immediately drifted away as if he had gotten used to it and started to like the place—Abby was not by his side.

He got up, went out and looked for her, but couldn't find her anywhere. Only a note was lying on the dining table.

That was it. Next to the paper was a small plate of pancakes, a glass of milk, and vitamins. Zac enjoyed himself, doing as the note said. After finishing the food on his plate, he got up and left.

Sidney had called him an hour ago, out of the blue, to say that she was coming to Eastonville, even though she had only been back a week. It was not good news for him at the moment.
