Chapter 133. The good with the bad

It was the early hours of the morning and Alex was in a deep sleep. His phone on his bedside table started to ring. Alex thought it was part of his dream but after the third ring he woke up in a shock. Looking at his screen blinking brightlyin the dark,he now realised that it was the hospital number. He answered the call without hesitation. 

''Hello'', the nervousness in his voice was evident.

''Hello, is this Alex?'', the sweet voice on the line spoke.

''Y..Y...Yes'', Alex stuttered . He was now wide awake.

''My name is Sister Vanessa Francis from the Midlands private hospital. I am calling about John. John Smith'', She said calmly.

Alex stayed silent waiting.

''Well, Mr Alex. The operation is completed. We have brought John to the Intensive care unit.He is currently stable but we will only know the results when he wakes up.The next twenty four hours are critical.We have him isolated to avoid any sort of infection. We won't allow any v
