ADRIAN'S POV

I bit my tongue and stepped out of the car, I had to do that so I wouldn't curse him out for running off and leaving me behind like that.

I made my way into the building, following the people that were going in.

"Adrian!"

I heard my name being called and turned around to see Jason standing not far away from me. He walked over to me with a smile on his sinfully handsome face which always asked for a punch.

The only person who could beat Jason in terms of good looks was Austin!

Darn it!

I felt the urge to slash that face right now!

"Adrian, What's up? What are you doing here?" He asked, his voice was soft and welcoming, adding to my anger.

I sucked in a deep breath and pocketed my hands "Oh, I'm here to meet Austin," I replied. "We came together but he had to leave first because I was doing something," Call me childish but Austin had to be mine!

I needed to make Jason realize that he had no chance with Austin ~

Jason raised a brow as he nodded his head "Really? Is he here f

I'm already at the house," I told her.Her expression changed a little and the happiness in her eyes dimmed "Son, do you really have to do this? I don't like you working so hard when you are still so young," She tried to persuade. We'd talked about this more than ten times already."I'm not young anymore, Mum. I'm 22 already and I have to work hard. I will start my internship in a few months too, I'm an adult already," I replied and rolled my eyes "Austin is only 21 and he's already working so hard. He's so rich that he could make my dad bow for him, you do remember that I'm still a year older than him, right?" I asked, staring at her.My mother shook her head "You can't compare yourself with Austin, Son..." Her eyes widened and she quickly covered her mouth. "Hey, I didn't mean that, you know?"I stare

KELVIN'S POVSeeing how angry Knight made me feel like something was wrong with his head. His sister might be cute, she might make me smile at times because... Damn! She's indeed cute ~However, She isn't my type. Yes, Abby isn't my type.Since I've grown enough to fall in love with someone and spend a few years of my life with them, I've grown to have a deep interest in intelligent people. Not just being intelligent but also smart, cool, good-looking, reliable, and most of all... Able to ignite deeper feelings inside me. With all these things, Abby is indeed intelligent (enough for her level), not that smart but manageable, cool but somehow childish, good-looking, let's forget about the reliable part, but she had never ignited any deep feeling inside me before. True, I love seeing her. She was the kind of person who always put a smile on my face whenever I saw her, but that was only because she was adorable. Among all the people I've met, there were indeed intelligent ones that m

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 69: HIS POWER

TINE'S POVI immediately drove down to Austin's house, and as expected, I saw them playing a video game. I knew that was what they would be playing as it was one of Austin's favorites, but I was still very bothered. "Tine, you're here," Austin only looked at me briefly as he said. He was busy playing, and the urge to not lose could be seen in him.I nodded and walked over, sitting beside him, "You've won twice," I commented. I'm totally ignoring both Jason and Adrian. None of them was important. Austin smirked, "You should know none of them is as good as me," He boasted, and I laughed. "Can you continue the game for me? I need to check what's on fire," He said. My eyes twitched, "You're cooking?" I was a bit surprised. Austin hated to cook~He shrugged and stood up, "The maids had to clean the family house, and I wanted to entertain my guests. So, I decided to cook," He explained. "I told you I should be the one to do it. You and I know how bad of a cook you are," Adrian butted

KELVIN'S POVThe day of the party finally came, and here I was, sitting alone amidst strangers. Tine and Austin refused to come with me, and according to them, they had too many assignments to do. It was still acceptable that Austin had a lot to do. Apart from his father's companies, he still had his modeling job and his shooting training. He had so much to do that I felt bad for him and didn't even try to convince him to come with me, but what about that useless Tine that had nothing to do? That punk literally sleeps all day!Yet, he told me he had somewhere to go with Austin and refused to come with me. Wait, there must be something wrong with him these days. I knew he was always attached to Austin and would rarely leave his side, but that was getting too much these days. Could it be that the two are planning something that I had no idea about?Or could something be wrong with Austin? The thought of that made me scared and worried~ "Kelvin!" KNIGHT'S POV "Yes, it's me," I replied, staring into his eyes. Truthfully, this felt like a dream to me, too. I never expected this sort of situation to come up, and even though I've dreamt about it so many times, I'd never held hope that my dream would one day come to reality. Yes, I'd been dreaming of being together with Kelvin for a very long time. It wasn't love at first sight. It was more like love amidst hate.My heart started beating for him when Austin and Adrian were kidnapped. I and Kun were very worried about Adrian, and so were Austin's two friends, Kelvin and Tine. While Tine was able to stay strong despite the fear and worry, Kelvin was unable to. I caught him crying in the school's bathroom so many times, and there were times he would place his head on his desk and start crying. He was vulnerable, and even though I knew I was vulnerable too, I still felt the urge to wipe his fear and comfort him. I would think of him every night after that. I would see myself comfo

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 72: ANGER

AUSTIN'S POVLaying in bed, my mind was filled with the thought of what to give Adrian on his birthday. He would be having his 21st birthday in a few days, and I had nothing in mind yet. I could have asked my friends, but then, none of them knew Adrian as much as I did, and I knew he would prefer something that showed how much I cared about him. Yet, that was the problem I had at the moment. Preparing a gift for him wasn't difficult, but showing how much I cared was the issue. If I were to measure how much I love and care about him, buying him the world wouldn't even be enough!I rubbed my hair and rolled around in bed. It was my first time facing so much trouble because of birthday gifts~I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes. Ticket to an exclusive novice cinema?A set of newly released sneakers?A trip?Group vacation?Identical robot? There were so many suggestions, but none of them looked good enough, and it troubled me. • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 73: I WILL KILL HIM

AUSTIN'S POV I helped him to the car and we drove home. Getting home, five maids were waiting anxiously at the door, surprising me. "What are you doing here?" I asked, staring at the maids. The maids looked at us and bowed their heads, "Young Master, you rushed out of the house without saying a word to anyone. We thought something had happened and were anxious," one of them replied. Hearing that, I rolled my eyes and walked past them. As much as I wanted to tell them, it was alright, my anger was higher, and I couldn't bear to talk nicely to anyone. I entered the house and led Kelvin to my room. "You should relax here," I told him. He looked shaken, but fortunately, he was no longer crying. He nodded and picked up a towel before heading toward the bathroom. While he was in the bathroom, I quickly picked up my phone to check Knight's house. Not long after, Kelvin returned from the bathroom. I had already prepared casual wear for him, which he put on and lay in bed. "I should fee

AUSTIN'S POV "Will you continue pretending? It doesn't cost me anything to destroy you, you know? With a phone call, your entire family will be eradicated from this country without a trace, you know, right?" I asked, my eyes piercing through her. What was she thinking in her bony head? Did she expect me to believe her just because she was acting cute? Sincerely, her actions only irritated me more...For someone who was tricky and filled with dirty thoughts like her, she would never gain my sympathy. This wasn't even about her age. She clocked 19 today, which meant she was an adult already. So, she should know what was wrong and right. She staggered backward, and her face turned pale. She looked at me with fear in her eyes, "I will tell you the truth," Her voice was low and cracked. I crossed my arms and glared at her, "Go on," I ordered. She swallowed and lowered her eyes, "My friends have always been talking about how fun sex is. They would talk about their boyfriends and how t

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 88: TOO SEDUCTIVE!

ADRIAN'S POV I froze for a moment. His words made my body shake violently. "You... Do you like someone? Who is it?" I raised my head to look at his face but displeasure formed on my face the next moment when I saw that Austin had already closed his eyes and his breathing was steady as if he already fell asleep. I raised my hand and gently touched his face. After everything he went through today, I knew his body must have felt very fatigued, and he needed rest. I somehow felt guilty for making him so worried that he had to drive down to my place so late at night and even make out with me despite his exhaustion.Maybe that was why he didn't do the deed...I gently shifted my body away from his and covered him up. Resting my chin on my hands, I stared at his face for a very long time until my eyes turned heavy, and I started dozing off. I moved closer to him, rested my hand on his chest, and slept off, too. The snowy weather caused a chill on my body, and I wondered why Austin wanted

ADRIAN'S POV I stared at the call, unable to decide whether to answer it or not. My fingers were trembling, and my thoughts were messy. "Adrian, are you inside?" My mum's voice broke my thoughts, and I quickly dropped the phone in bed. My eyes lingered on the phone for a few seconds, but with a sigh, I decided to ignore the call. Maybe he only called to officially tell me about his relationship with Cynthia? I wasn't ready to hear about that at the moment. I wasn't strong enough to endure that either. I rushed out of the room and saw my mother waiting for me at the door. "Mum," I called. She took my hand and led the way, "I waited for you for so long and decided to come call you when I didn't see you," She explained. Nodding my head, I revealed a smile, "I took too long in the bathroom. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, Mum," I apologized and followed her downstairs. I ate peacefully with my mum, pushing back the stressful thoughts and chatting with her for a while. My stepf

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 86: HE DOESN'T LOVE ME, MUM

ADRIAN'S POV "Do you want to give up then?" Jason asked, staring at me. What choice did I have? "I will," I softly replied, suppressing the immense pain in my heart. I walked toward the door and opened it. It took all my will to not let my tears fall. The pain was almost unbearable, and everything seemed like a dream. Maybe taking it as a dream was the only thing that still kept me so strong...Opening the door, my misty eyes widened for a moment as I set my eyes on Austin, who was in front of the door. His expression was cold, and his anger was evident. He must have heard everything I said to Jason. "Do you really think I have feelings for Cynthia?" His tone was harsh as he questioned. My eyes flickered, and I turned away, not daring to look into his eyes as that could push me to tears, "It doesn't matter. Just like you said, we are only just friends. What right do I have to question your choice? Whether you are in love with Cynthia or not, it's none of my business," I replied,

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 85

ADRIAN'S POV Austin was shocked. He immediately tried to struggle free, but I held him tight. Pinning his hands on the wall, I pressed my lips on his. He struggled for a moment, probably not intending to give in so easily. However, it was only a moment. He soon parted his lips voluntarily and responded to the kiss actively. My hands slowly moved down from his hand, resting on his chest, my heart racing faster. It was as if all the emotions I had tried to suppress for the past few days could no longer be suppressed, and my chest was heaving hard, too. Our eyes met, and the desires in our eyes were not to be undermined. "You can't fall for her. You mustn't fall for her, Austin," I implored, staring deep into his eyes. Austin froze for a moment and smiled warmly, his arms wrapped around my neck, and he pulled closer to me until his lips were just a few inches away from my ear. "What? Aren't we just friends? Why can't I fall for her?" His voice was low and seductive, and it made my

ADRIAN'S POV "No, she was shocked and fainted," Jason replied again and I frowned. Why was he the one answering my questions when he wasn't the one being asked? Tsk!"She's fine already but we wanted her to rest more before going home," Austin seemed to have noticed my suffering as he suddenly butted in and stood up. "Do you want to see her?" I stood up too and walked toward the entrance, "Of course. I have to see the lady who is so special to you that you even wanted to exchange your life for hers," I teased and rolled my eyes. Austin shook his head and chuckled but didn't say a word to reply to me. He looked at Jason, who was still sitting, "Can you watch him? I will be back soon," Jason nodded with a smile, "I will," I let out a deep breath and opened the door. The presence of Jason made me feel uncomfortable. Not only was he handsome, but he also knew how to use guns; he was indeed a worthy opponent!"Ah, John called to ask about you. He sounded very worried. You should give

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 83: DREAMLAND

ADRIAN'S POV While I was about to hit the ground, a hand suddenly grabbed me and pulled me to my feet. "Don't fall; you will get injured," The familiar, sweet, and comforting voice entered my ears, freezing my thoughts. My eyes shifted, and I looked at the figure who was standing beside me. My lips parted and I took in a deep breath. "I must be in a dream right now," I mumbled inwardly. "Why would you do that? Why would you do something so dangerous without even asking for my help?!" "I might be useless to you but I can still take down a few men. Why on earth would you go and rescue someone without thinking about yourself? Is she that important to you?!" "Look at you, right there. You are wrapped up like a mummy, do you think I can survive this? Do you think I can survive it if anything happens to you?! Why, Austin!? Why?!" "You know what? I would rather die than have you leave me in this world. For your information, if anything should happen to you, I will die with you and when

ADRIAN'S POV "We've picked the four shoes. Can we just leave now? I need to rest my head," I lamented to Kun, who was still excitedly looking around. I couldn't believe a guy would love shopping so much!"No, Adrian. There's a shoe I saw on a Chinese celebrity, and I feel like it will look very good on you; we need to get that." He proposed and I frowned. "A shoe you saw on a Chinese celebrity? Why should I be the one to wear that?" Kun stopped and cocked his head to the side, a smug smile on his face as he stared at me, "Do you still remember that Chinese drama we watched together a few months ago? BEING A HERO?" A smirk formed on his annoying face. "The young male lead was the one who wore the shoes. Do you want it now?" Hearing that, the corner of my eyes lifted and I gently nodded. "I..." I stopped and shrugged. "Let's look for it then. That guy seems to be an awesome fashionable person," I added with a smile and walked ahead of him. The male lead of the drama caught my atte

ADRIAN'S POV "You should get four different sets of birthday clothes, okay?" Kun said as he dragged me around in the boutique. He already picked more than ten different trousers and shirts, different sets of clothes that he forced me to test. I was tired but at the same time, I didn't want to return home as his disturbance was helping me deal with my inner turmoil. While he was making things difficult for me by not giving me a moment of peace, I was able to stop thinking about Austin, and for the first time in a while, I was even able to smile. "Do you think this is better or is this better?" Kun asked, he had two different colors of shirt in his hands. I looked at the two and sighed. "I wouldn't know. I'm tired already. Can't we just pick one and leave?" I asked, slapping my forehead as I glared at him. "I'm feeling hungry too," That was the truth; I had lost my appetite before now as I was busy thinking about Austin, but after the tedious shopping, I felt like I needed somethin

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 80

AUSTIN'S POV Sensing the looming danger in my life and the lives of everyone around me, I decided to take a preventive measure against any sneak attack from any of the enemies. I had installed a tracker on every of my worker's apps and linked it to the companies' computers. Thanks to that, it would be easier to track Cynthia and rescue her. Standing up, I rushed out of the company and made my way back home. Even if I happened to find out what was happening to Cynthia, I still couldn't save her with my bare hands, so I decided to prepare some things from home. I had just driven into my compound when my phone started ringing. It rang for the first time, ignored as I had to park my car but it started ringing for the second time. I brought out my phone from my bag and checked the screen only to see that it was a new number I had never seen before. I felt suspicious; with the things happening, it would be no surprise if it was a call from the kidnappers, and that was more reason for
