ADRIAN'S POV

After searching for so long, I finally found a place to learn how to fight without alerting Austin at all. The last thing I wanted was to let him know I had feelings for him and I would do anything and everything to keep that hidden forever.

"I can start today, right?" I asked the man after paying all the necessary fees.

"Yes. It is quite strange though. You want to learn taekwondo, Karate, Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Judo at the same time?" The man asked with amusement on his face and I nodded as it wasn't funny to me at all.

This was something I needed to learn and I must be fast with it~

"Yes. I need to learn them all so I can start helping him as fast as possible. I can't let them kill him now, can I?" I mumbled and let out a deep breath.

"Excuse me? What did you say?"

"What?" I looked at the man and quickly waved my hand. "Oh! I was just talking to myself." I replied and stood up. "I would like to start right away." To me, each second spent talking was a waste

KELVIN'S POV"Should I drop you home?" Austin asked as usual and I shook my head. "I won't be going home today. I just got a part-time job as a home tutor." I explained, earning a confused look from two friends. "Part-time work? When did you become so broke that you needed to work part-time to get some money? Why didn't you tell us anything?" Tine was annoyed. He was staring at me impatiently, and I knew he was ready to throw a punch or two if my reply wasn't correct. After Austin told us about his ordeal with Adrian, we were angry about it for a while because Austin kept it away from us for several days while we were worried about him and since then, we all promised each other never to keep secrets anymore. The day Tine hung out with a girl without telling any of us, I was the first to punch his chest and since then, I knew he had been waiting for me to screw up so he could pay me back tenfold. I took a step back and forced a smile. "I'm not broke, guys. My family's business is g

KELVIN'S POV I couldn't believe my eyes. I kept staring at him as if I was seeing a ghost and he wasn't faring better either. He was staring at me with shock and disbelief in his eyes and after a while, he stood up and looked around the room. It was as if he was trying to confirm if he was in the right house or not before he said anything. I opened my mouth to question his presence in the room when someone suddenly cleared their throat and I turned around to see who it was only to find out that it was that woman... The student's mother. "Kelvin, right?" She asked and it took me a few seconds to nod my head as I was still very angry. Why on earth would she put Knight and I in the same room? His presence alone was polluting my mood and it was suffocating! The urge to turn around and leave the room was huge at that moment but I had to refrain myself as it would be silly to walk out just because of someone like Knight. Judging by what the old man who brought me in said earlier, he w

He also told us he might take a jobteaching people how to drive which I knew would be nice as something of such would suit him well."Hey, When is the audition?" Sulking Kelvin questioned with his hands on his lap.He had remained frustrated since he started working a week ago but neither Tine nor I had a way of helping him. I even advised him to stop working but he claimed that wouldn't be possible because he had a crush on Abby, Knight's little sister. He showed us the picture and we all agreed that the girl was cute but would that really be possible? The only way he would ever have a chance with the girl would be to make up with Kni

AUSTIN'S POV My thought was to visit Jason in his room, talk with him and ask if my friends could enter but to my surprise, I met Adrian in the room, laughing and chatting with Jason and one other guy. I cleared my throat as I entered the room. Even though I was shocked, it was only for a moment as I didn't want Adrian mocking me. "Hey, Austin!" Jason called cheerfully as he stood up and walked up to me. He hugged me, patting my back gently before he let go. "I've been waiting for you. I'm glad you're here." His accent was thick and his tone was pleasant. I forced a smile and nodded my head. "Yeah. I told you I would." I replied and walked passed him. I walked up to the man sitting beside Adrian and smiled "Hello? My name is Austin." I greeted politely and the man immediately stood up. He took my hand in his, smiling away "I'm John, Nice meeting you, Austin!" He said excitedly. "Jason said so much about you that I was curious to meet you as fast as possible. I'm glad to finally s

  • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 49: BATHROOM ROMANCE

ADRIAN'S POV Seeing Austin was really out of the picture. Among everyone I thought I might meet, he wasn't one of them at all. The reason being that he was always the introverted type of person. The Austin I knew would never say yes to acting as that would make him popular and he hated to be just that. Austin hated being the center of attention and he liked to be on his own. The way he acted toward me, the way he was nonchalant and the way he saved me from his friend was strange, to say the least, and it made me wonder if I had stayed too far away from him that I was starting to forget what he is like. The painful part was that my heart still raced for him. I still loved him nonetheless and I still wanted to conquer the world just so he would be safe and stay with me forever. "I was invited here." I finally managed to say to the raging Tine who seemed to be ready to decapitate me. Tine shook his head "Who? Who invited you?!" He yelled and I let out a deep breath. I really would

ADRIAN'S POV I had no idea what was going on in his mind but before I knew it, he kissed me so passionately that my body burned. I felt hot from within and I couldn't control myself. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back, deepening the kiss while my right hand moved down her back. He pulled back a little and held my shirt, he removed the first button and moved his lips down my chin, wetting and kissing my chin. His hands found their way to my head and he moved his mouth down, kissing my neck. He was just deepening the kiss on my neck when he suddenly stopped and pulled away. "What? Why?" I questioned, staring at him with raised brows. He turned around abruptly and ran his fingers through his hair. "That was my mistake." He mumbled and walked toward the door, ready to leave. Unable to take his silly attitude after what he did to me, I rushed after him and stood in front of him. "Mistake? Your mistake? Have you lost your mind?!" I yelled at him. Fortunately, the

AUSTIN'S POV It was strange, my body started reacting strangely the moment I set my eyes on Adrian. I was supposed to hate his presence in the room but somehow, I loved it...Looking at him around me made me feel relaxed and that was when I realized it had been a while since I last saw him. I missed him and even though I had been denying it, I knew deep down in me that I wanted to see him again. I was secretly staring at him until Tine suddenly lost his mind and decided to beat him up. It was nice at first as I imagined seeing him getting beaten would bring me back to my senses but with everyone in the room, I couldn't let that happen. I had to stop the fight even though I was unwilling to and soon, he walked over to me and called my name, asking me to come with him for a talk. Being alone with him triggered something in me and before I knew it, I was kissing him as if my life depended on him and he kissed me back until I remembered where we were and had to stop the kiss. "I'm editing the pictures I took of Austin earlier. I need to post them later at night," He replied, still not raising his head. I frowned slightly, "I'm not asking about Austin's picture. Austin has enough workers who help with this. You are not needed. I'm asking about your plan for the new year festive. Will you finally ask Linda out?" I asked again, feeling a little annoyed. Tine finally raised his head and turned off his phone. His eyes wandered around the party, searching for someone - Searching for Austin..."Who is Linda?" He asked coldly. There was not a hint of interest in his tone. My frown deepened. "We both know that girl likes you. Why are you doing this? It's time you give love a chance," I advised, looking at his face. Austin made a confused face and held my hand, "What's it, baby? Have I done something wrong? Tell me, I will make it up to you," He mumbled, pressing in for a kiss that was swiftly avoided. "You shouldn't waste your time with me here. Those babes are waiting for you right there," I pointed to the ladies who were staring at us and crossed my legs, not wanting to pay attention to him. Austin kissed my forehead and gently cupped my face, "You are the only one who deserves my attention, and you know this," He assured me, his voice calm and hypnotizing. We can make do with it and submit it. I hope you won't turn down my offer anymore," He said, looking at my face. I let out a deep breath and nodded in response, "If we can get this contract with my proposal, I will surely accept your proposal," I assured him. I wouldn't compromise. If we were to lose the contract, I would work harder to win another one, and until I win one, I would never accept the position he offered me. • LOVE IN SHADES   CHAPTER 95: A YEAR LATER

AUSTIN'S POVA year had passed since the incident and I had become a graduate. The ceremony for making me the chairman of my conglomerate had been scheduled for a week from now..."What about Cynthia? She's still stuck on you for more than a year now. What do you plan to do with her?" Tine asked, crossing his legs as he looked at me. I shrugged, sipped my wine, and gently rubbed the ring on my finger. "I don't care about her. She can continue doing whatever she wants. I told her a year ago that I didn't have any feelings towards her. I don't know what she's up to, trying to act like there's something between us," I replied. There was an ounce of disgust showing in my tone. If not for the guilt I still felt toward her kidnapping back then, I would have dealt with her in a way she would regret. I never expected her to be this kind of woman but she had used the past few months showing me how lowly she could be..."I heard she posted a picture about you and her entering a hotel togeth

ADRIAN'S POV I helped Austin up the seat, and we both left the room. My heart ached terribly, and I felt miserable. I knew Austin was in deep pain; my heart ached badly, too, and I wished I could share his pain, but there was nothing I could do..."Adrian Smith!" A deep and scary voice suddenly sounded behind us, and my heart skipped a beat. Turning around, I saw a man pointing a gun at us with a smirk on his face. "This fool came to us to save you, and we had planned to only kill you after he's been killed. Who would have imagined that you would come here to die even before he died?" The man asked, laughing. "After so many years. You bastards can finally pay for your fathers' sins and go to hell!" He yelled. I clenched my fist as I looked at the man with deep hatred in my eyes. "Die for our fathers' sins. What did our fathers do?" I asked angrily. He laughed again, "You don't know. Not only did they exterminate our people back but also in the name of righteousness. They also ar

ADRIAN'S POV "Let's go. I know where Austin is! I know where he's been taken to!" I shouted and without waiting for them to say anything, I rushed out of the house. They all followed after and we soon packed ourselves into the car again. "Go to this place!" I handed my phone to John, who immediately checked the location. "Austin left a code on his laptop, which only the two of us understand. This place is somewhere his dad used to take us back then when he was still alive. It was a training ground for us back then and because he was better than I am, he was number 1, while I took number 5. Austin left 1- 5 on his laptop's screen. The only thing it could mean is that place. That means he knows where he is and he's been expecting me to save him for the past few days. I can't believe I had no idea what was going on! I can't believe this is happening!"Why? Why was I so dumb? Why didn't I think about him getting kidnapped when I didn't see him for days? Why did I continue with the stupi

"Adrian, are you okay?""Adrian, Adrian!"The voices of the people in the room kept ringing in my ears, but they were too far away. I could feel my consciousness dwindling, and before I knew it, everything turned dark...Opening my eyes, I felt weak and exhausted. "Where am I?" I asked, staring around, but there was nothing in sight. A smile played on my lips, "It seems I'm dead. I can finally go find Austin," I mumbled. "Silly boy. What did you just say? Will you leave your mother behind and die just to see Austin?!" A loud and scary voice sounded beside me, making me turn my head with dissatisfaction on my face. I sucked in a deep breath, deciding to keep away the thoughts for a moment and look for an excuse to leave when Knight returned from where he went to buy popcorn. "Kelvin!" Knight's voice sounded behind me, and turning around, my eyes met his. Taking in his whole physique, I felt my cheeks burning for a moment before I forcefully calmed down and closed my eyes gently.
