Chapter twenty : Going home

KAMARIA POV

"I am not." My Angel opened her eyes and stared directly into mine as if to prove her point. I chuckled inside because even though she tried not to look scared her voice betrayed her by trembling as the words came out from her.

Instead of arguing I reached out to take her little hand in mine.

"What are you doing mum?" Her nose scrunched up in a cute little frown, a puzzled expression on her face.

"I am scared," my expression was serious even though I was smiling inside. She didn't buy the excuse and rolled her blue eyes dramatically at mine failed attempt at Subtlety.

Her grip in mine tightened to the point of bruising as the plane rose to the air. I decided to distract her by talking. I started telling her stories about my parents, her grandparents.

I have never talked about my family with her because I had been scared of her asking more. Of her asking about her father.

I think running after being told you'd basically be kept like an incubator and then torn away from your child and thrown out like trash would be a common reaction... staying away for 10 years? seems a little excessive. Look forward to seeing how this progresses
