“Where is Davina?” Bobby asked as he and Jonathan walked into my home. The house was probably too quiet for them to notice her absence of the bat. I wasn’t expecting them.
“With her father?” I answered casually without thinking of my words. Just like I promised him I let Davina spend the day with him with a promise from him that he will bring her back unharmed.I smiled as I remembered his attics to steal a kiss while our daughter wasn’t looking. Has he always been this naughty.I was so lost in my head thinking about Damien that I didn’t realise that my best friends were gawking at me like I have suddenly grown two heads. When I came back to reality and felt them staring at my face a breath away, I jumped out of my skin.“Guys! You scared me!” I clutched my chest while throwing glares in their direction. They pretended as if I didn’t speak, their eyes narrowed at me.“Are you fucking?” Bobby was the first to speak, his words soundedDAMIEN POV I watched with fond expression on my face at the scared excited look on my daughter’s face as we prepared to ride the Ferris wheel. For our outing today we decided on amusement park, and the Ferris wheel is our first stop. There is a little awkwardness between us and I wondered if Kamaria is right and she blames herself for my accident. I wanted to say something about that but haven’t gotten the right opportunity. “Oh my God!” She screamed as we started on the journey, putting another smile on my face. It was pretty alarming, but I held in my scream. I smiled when I felt her little hand in mine. We rode for four circles with screams of people around us, and my daughter screaming the loudest, but with a happy look on her face. After the Ferris ride we rode some other rides and then went to get something to eat. “Do you hate me dad?” She asked as we looked through the open shops selling snacks and food.
KAMARIA POV I have never felt as happy as I am right now and that scares me. Things has been going on well with Damien and I for the past two weeks, but I have been taking it with a pinch of salt as if waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it did drop, in form of Carolyn Black. Sunday morning I and my daughter decided on a sleep in only for us to dragged out of sleep by the sound of door bell at the early hours of the morning. I tried to Ignore it but whoever was at the door was persistent. Davina and I walked out of the door at the same time. “Mum, do you know who it is?” She asked through a yawn. “I don’t know baby,” I tightened my robe around me and hurried downstairs. I was almost at the door when the doorbell started again. I wondered who this insane person that pays a house call by this time of the morning, it is barely eight am. I opened the door and came face to face with Damien’s mother, dressed immaculately as usual.
DAMIEN POVI was surprised to get a call from Kamaria telling me that my mother paid her a visit. Her recount of what transpired left me speechless, and when the call ended I was on the phone calling my mother. I don’t want her meddling in my relationship with Kamaria. Kamaria might have said she supports us but I don’t trust my mother. “Ah, Damien I have been waiting for your call,” she said as a way of greeting. I didn’t appreciate how much she knows me so well, and can predict what I am going to do. “What are you plotting mum?” I wouldn’t put it past her to try and sabotage my relationship with Kamaria. She has done it before, though the first time she had my blessing, but not this time. “What makes you think I am plotting something son,” she said innocently, but she wasn’t fooling me. “Because I know you mum, you are not the type of person to let things go easily. Kamaria might buy your act but I don’t!” I snarled.
KAMARIA POVWhen we got to the restaurant we were lead to our table by a tall young man with a bright smile and sunshine personality. I smiled my thanks when Damien pulled out a seat for me before doing the same for our daughter. We were all settled in our seats, the waiter addressed us.“Someone will come by to take your orders,” he said politely and took his leave to attend to other customers. Tonight we decided to eat in a Japanese restaurant. Being a weekend night the restaurant was kind of full. Good thing Damien got a reservation yesterday. The three of us picked up the menu to find out what we wanted. I glanced down thinking about what to eat. There were so many things catching my interest but tonight I was in the mood for Ramen. It is been a while since I had those. I will go for that Ramen cooked In chicken broth with grilled chicken . For my drink I decided on expresso martini. “Baby have you made a choice?” I
DAMIEN POV “Fuck we over slept!”I forced my eyes open at Kamaria’s loud terrified exclamation. “How can we over sleep when we just went to sleep, “I grumbled wanting nothing more than to go back to sleep, and that is what I did. Last night we had made love like little bunnies forgetting that our sexual appetite for each other might be great but our bodies had limit. “No, don’t go back to sleep, Davina will be here soon,” she shook me again, her voice panicked. The mention of our daughter and her catching us together wiped the sleep from eyes and I flew off the bed. “Fuck! How did we oversleep?” I lamented as I tried to throw my legs into my pants. “You are asking me. Hurry up before she comes.”I had just pulled my pants when the sound of her footsteps reached us. Fuck! I flew under the cover just in time for the door to open and a just awakened Davina was there looking towards her mum with sl
KAMARIA POV Alone in the kitchen I decided to call Davina’s school to let them know that Davina won’t be coming in today. We overslept and she is too upset now to go. I paced around the kitchen with a worried look on my face and at lost at what to do. I don’t want to lose Damien, but I don’t know if I can keep seeing him if my daughter doesn’t approve. I shouldn’t have started this in ths first place. Was this a mistake? I robbed my head trying to disperse the worry headache troubling my front head. I try to wait till Damien gets down but I was feeling to anxious about my daughter being angry with me, I need to make sure she is okay. I was about to leave the kitchen when I heard their footsteps on the stairs so I quickly tried to find something to pretend to be busy with. “Hey!” I turned quickly to face them when they arrived at the door. I tried to sound as if I am alright, but my anxious eyes immediately pinned my daught
DAMIEN POVHe was the last person I expected at the door when I opened Kamaria’s door. I could see he was shocked by my presence. Well, ditto dude. Obviously I am not happy to see him, Kamaria might deny that nothing is going on between the two of them, but I know the look on a man when he desires a woman and the guy in front of me wears his heart on his sleeve. How Kamaria who is very observant could be blind to this marvels me unless there is a reason she is not admitting it. Does she have feelings for him too? The question made me unease inside and cropped up the need to stake my territory. I turned to Kamaria, she looked frozen which means she is not also expecting our vistor. I didn’t give her a warning and I kissed her. She was stiff in my arms for few seconds before she pushed me away. My chest tightened at her action, but I pretended that it didn’t hurt. My face was expressionless when I spoke to her. “I will see you later.”
KAMARIA POV I had my left elbow resting on the window and my right hand on the steering, my mind miles away while I drove on autopilot. I couldn’t stop thinking of the last two hours of my life. It felt as if someone else lived that and I am still hidden inside the person watching as it happened. Let’s rewind. I was seeing Damien off, we shared some goodbye kisses that left me wanting more and then the doorbell rang and everything took off on a parallel universe mode, because it sure felt like it wasn’t me there. The shock to the system when Damien opened the door to reveal Reign on the other side left me immobile until he called out my name in that deep husky voice of his. I reacted without thinking. I have missed him so much and the sight of him in front of my door was so overwhelming that I needed to make sure he wasn’t a figment of my imagination. I ran into his arms and hugged him almost in tears. “Where have you been?” I cried
