A broken promise

It was a bright morning, Hazel looked around as she found herself in a park, she wondered what she was doing there, she kept looking around when she heard a little boy's voice called “mom”. She turned and a five-year-old boy ran towards her.

“Mom” the voice called again for Hazel to giggle.

“Junior,” she said smiling at Alex look alike but with blue eyes like his mom.

“Where’s dad mom?” He asked for Hazel to turn.

“Alex” she called but Alex was nowhere.

“Alex” she called again and when she turned to her son, he was nowhere, it was like a five-minute play that just happened.

“Junior!” She screamed out only to find herself breathing heavily on Alex's shoulder.

“It’s ok, I’m here” she heard Alex whisper.

“Oh, it’s just a dream,” he said hugging her tight.

“It’s ok,” he said rubbing her back before she lay back.
