Admist everything, I had almost forgotten about the topic Professor George had given us as an assignment, about 'Philosophy of Life'.I had told everyone, that I won't be available for the whole day, as I will be writing that essay, which was getting on my nerves now.Sitting down on the chair in front of my desk with a plop, I placed the mug of coffee on top of the table and sighed. What should I write? It was same question again.Sighing for the nth time, I grabbed the notebook along with the pen and stared at the wall, forming the right words in my mind. ~FLASHBACKAUTHOR'S POVAll the crying had made Sia's swell up and it was hard to see now, but it was alright. She finally felt light talking everything out aloud. She looked up in the sky and saw the sun going down. The sky was colored with alot of colors right now, looking breathtaking. She looked a final time at her essay and her focus went to the final lines on the paper.

The room was misty, with the only source of light being the windows in the walls at the back. There was no light at all, making the whole scenario more scary.Gulping to calm down her rapidly beating heart, Sia's eyes travelled from the windows to the only table in the room. There were two chairs placed at both sides of the table. Sia's eyes slowly moved from the empty chair to the chair on the opposite side of the table. With her feets heavy, she took more steps towards the table, trying to act confident and make out the face of the silhoutte, sitting on the dark side. When her eyes adjusted to the darkness, her heart almost leapt out in her throat. ~FLASHBACKAUTHOR'S POV“ This pendant...” Sia started off, still dragging her finger along the heart shaped pendant, hanging around her neck. She didn't know why, she still used to wear it. Maybe, because it made her feel connected to her parents who abandoned her and left her at the orphanage or simply because, Ms Amelia asked her to always keep it with her. She did not wanted to even think about it anymore, but she was forced to think about it today...Sighing, Sia looked up at Hardin, who was patiently waiting for her explanation. He was silently staring at her, making her uncomfortable by the minute...Sia didn't know why, but after looking at Hardin, she thought, that he was impatient. His eyes were slowly turning red. They had been talking about something serious and then suddenly Hardin made everything sound like, it was just a joke to him. What was he?Frowning and still flustered by what he said, she shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Hardin's piercing gaze was testing her patience now. She almost wanted to disappear somewhere, she can hide from his gaze.Humming, Hardin rubbed his ear and started, “ As for, who killed my parents...” His voice had suddenly took a dangerous edge, that made a shiver run up Sia's spine. For a second, Sia

Sia thought and whipped her head around to argue with him again when his hands made their way to her sides for the second time. “ Hardin Please. Listen to me. ” Sia placed her hands on his wet chest and sighed. Hardin's hands paused, his eyes assessing her expressions. “ I am listening. ” He smiled, pushing Sia's hair behind her ear softly. Sia heaved a heavy breath not knowing what to say to him. She did not know why she still felt so scared of everything. “ Don't you want to be with me? Don't you want everyone to know that we are married? ” Hardin whispered, his eyes noticing her expressions that changed to one of horror. “ No. No. It's nothing like th

Sia's hands shot up to her mouth to cover it as a gasp left her lips. His heart was beating in his ears like a drum. This was the second time in his whole life that he was so nervous. AUTHOR'S POV Sia turned around in the bed, her eyes opening. She did not know when she fell asleep and woke up just now. Yawning, she focused on the figure laying just beside her with his arm draped over her waist protectively. Her hand reached out to brush off his bangs away from his eyes with her fingers gently as he sighed in his sleep. An unconscious smile was tugged up at the corners of Sia's lips. Her thumb slowly drew circles on his cheek with her eyes taking in the sight before her. She had never thought that it was possible for Hardin to love her. It all felt like a lie at first but the sincerity in his eyes and the determination in his voice drove all fear away. Now there was only him and there was only her. Nothing else mattered. Atleast she could try thinking like that but she still had a hard time adjusting to this new thing. She pushed herself off the bed as she grabbed her clothes to wear them.

AUTHOR'S POV “ What? What did you say? ” Hardin shook his head, his heart pounding in his ears. He was wondering if what he heard was really what she spoke just now. “ I will stay. I said I wil-will stay. ” Sia immediately changed her statement, her cheeks starting to heat up. She had never said I love you to any man before and she felt like she did something out of the world just now. His shocked eyes were making her breath hitch. “ You said something else. ” Hardin's eyes darkened as a smirk tugged up at the corner of his lips. He knew that she confessed to him just now but changed her words instantly after that. She felt awkward but he would definitely hear it from her. One way or another. Sia pulled her hand back feeling nervous and turned around to march closer to the pictures that were hanged on the wall. Her hands were trembling at her side,
AUTHOR'S POV “ You! You will come with me. ” He grabbed her wrist and started dragging her back inside the mansion as Sia let him take her, feeling dumbfounded. What was Hardin doing? Sia wondered but could not find the answer to that. She guessed, she would find out in a while. Hardin dragged Sia to the room on the upper floor which was his as she recognized instantly. The combination was maroon and black. It gave off an eery vibe just like his personality. He pulled her inside and closed the door behind them smoothly with a click. Sia took in the interior of the room. There was a huge king sized bed in the middle with black sheets and maroon duvet and pillows. Sia's eyes conveniently left the bed and stopped at the wall beside it. Her breath hitched when she noticed alot of pictures hanged on the wall. Her pictures. She had never seen them before though. She did
AUTHOR'S POV “ I am going to leave now. ” She whispered and looked up in his eyes that were open now as his heart dropped down to the pit of his stomach. “ What do you mean by this?! ” Hardin pulled away from her and asked in a cold tone as Sia gazed up in his eyes thoughtfully. “ What do you mean by leaving?! ” He asked again with hysteria clear in his eyes. Sia heaved in a heavy breath before grabbing his hands and pushing them off her arms. She looked in his eyes for a moment before replying in a determined tone. “ I am going to take Emma and I am going to leave from here. I am going to go somewhere far from here. ” Hardin's eyes went wide realising what she was hinting at. She was talking about leaving him. She was telling him that it was over between them. It was over before it even started. “ No. No! You can't do that! ” He growle
AUTHOR'S POV Sia embraced Emma closer not knowing what to say as a lump formed in her throat immediately. Emma placed her head on her shoulder and did not say anything else either. Sia's eyes travelled upto meet Hardin's baby blue orbs that were already staring at her with an unrecognizable emotion shining in them. “ I won't cry if you won't cry. ” Emma sniffed after a while and pulled away wiping her eyes with her small hands. Sia grimaced as she averted her eyes back to meet Emma's eyes that painfully reminded her of Emily's eyes. “ I won't cry. ” Sia shook her head as she pushed the tears back, looking at her. Emma pulled her closer once again and sighed out as Sia felt her heart hurting more. She was just a child yet she was like this. Emma pulled away instantly and her eyes shot up to meet hers. “ Will you play chess with me? ” The same excitement shined
