Chapter 2
That I decided to go home first. When I got there, I received a strong slap from my Mother. It hurts me even my parents reject me, because they say I'm bad luck in our family. I get a lot of bad words from my parents even my own sister does the same. "Slut! You're a flirt, you're so different from your sister, a hypocrite!" my mother said after slapping me. "You're a bad omen to this family, you whore!" my father said. "This family has been cursed ever since you came into our lives!" my older siblings added. "We don't have a daughter who is a flirt, a whore, and above all, a useless child!" my mother repeated. "Mom, Dad!" I could only say to them. "Since I've been able to think for myself, I've never understood why you always mistreat me," I said, sobbing. "Now I want your care and love as my parents, I want you to be my support in my problems. But you are also the ones who will give me reason to sink deeper into the mud." I said to them, still crying. My chest hurt so much, it felt like I couldn't breathe, so I hit my chest. "Shut up, you slut! If you weren't so stupid and got yourself impregnated by a man, this wouldn't have happened," my mother said. "Tsk! She's a fool, that's why she got tricked," my sister said. "Get out of this house, Rhian, because you are a disgrace to this family," my father said. "Can I just ask, are you really my parents?" I asked them, but instead of answering my question, they immediately dragged me outside and slammed the door shut. I didn't bring anything, just a few things and the money I saved from working. Thankfully, I had it with me. So I promised myself that from now on, I would never return to that place unless I achieved my dream. I would show those people who hurt and abandoned me that they would meet a different Rhian. Even though I had little money, I ventured to another place until an old woman was willing to help. I would return to the place where I was rejected by my parents, hurt and betrayed by the man I first loved. Despite all that, I didn't lose hope. My child was my only source of strength to continue living and face the challenges of life. I couldn't do anything about my situation. I felt sorry for myself, but I never lost hope. I continued walking, even though my clothes were soaked with sweat. While I walked in the middle of the road, the heat and thirst were unbearable, so I endured walking to find shelter, even if it was just for today. But fate was cruel to me. None of my friends or relatives were willing to help me. A mix of pity and fear for myself filled me as I held my belly. 'Child, just hold on, don't let go and don't leave Mama,' I whispered to myself while stroking my small belly. 'It's getting dark, but we don't have shelter, even a makeshift one, child. Why is fate so cruel to us both, child? Lord, if this is a test for me, please don't abandon my child. I know that all the trials you have given us, we can't handle, but Lord, I can't take it anymore. I just wish, I hope you send someone to help me, even if it's just for my child,' I said to myself, unable to stop the tears from flowing down my cheeks until I couldn't stop myself from feeling dizzy. But in the middle of my walk, I couldn't hold back my feelings anymore. So I slowly sat down on a dark road, where no one even passed by. Even though I was terrified, I couldn't do anything because of my situation, especially since my womb was aching. "Lord, whatever happens to us now, I will fully accept it if that's what you want. You take care of me and my child," I said, but only a faint voice came out of my mouth. Then, my body slowly collapsed onto the cold cement road. THE NEXT DAY I woke up to the sound of a machine, so I slowly opened my eyes, but all I saw was white. 'Maybe this is what they call heaven, if so, I'm dead. I'm sorry child, you got caught up in my bad luck,' I said to my child while waiting for it, but I stopped when I felt a pulse from it, so I was immediately confused by what I saw. "You're alive child? But aren't you dead too like me?" I said to it. Then a man in white came in, approaching where I was. "Good morning?" the man said. "Sir, am I still alive?" I said, unable to even return his greeting. "Yes! Of course," he replied. "You and your child are safe," he added. While we were talking about what I needed to do to prevent anything from happening to my child, what I shouldn't do, a woman suddenly entered, I think she was 50+ years old. "Good morning Madam!" said the doctor, who was now just a lady in posture. "Good morning, how is she? Is her pregnancy okay?" the old woman asked the doctor. "Yes madam, they are both okay! Don't worry," the doctor replied. "Hay! Thank the Lord God. Hello dear, I'm the one who brought you here. Do you want to call any family so they know what's happening to you?" said the old woman. "By the way, I'm Matilda Suarez Lim," she said to me, which surprised me because even though she was 50+, you could see her beauty. "I'm Rhian Andam Suarez, I don't have a family anymore, Madam. They rejected me because they said I was a bad omen for our family, especially when they found out I was pregnant, so I wandered the streets looking for a place to stay," I said to her, unable to stop remembering what happened to me with my own family, as my tears flowed like unstoppable water. "What kind of parents are they, shhhh! Don't cry, if you want, come with me. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person. I'll help you get back on your feet, I guess it was really destined that I would find you because believe me, we both have the same surname, Suarez," she said to me, smiling. So I was also infected by her beautiful smile. "Thank you Madam, but__," the old woman immediately cut me off. "Shhhh! From now on, call me Mommy, I'll take care of everything, I'll bring you to the USA," she said to me. Even though my fate there was uncertain, I immediately agreed and thanked her profusely, especially the Lord who gave me someone like Madam Matilda. A week passed since I stayed in the hospital, my strength quickly returned, and many people said we looked alike, Madam Matilda and I. They said we were like split fruits, which Madam liked. "Ma Mommy!" even though I hesitated to call her Mommy, I had no choice because that's what she wanted. I told her that her children might get angry if they found out that someone else was calling her Mommy, but her face became sad when I said that. "My only daughter has been dead for a long time, she died while I was giving birth to her, it's painful, but we need to move forward, we've adopted many times, but the same thing always happened, I feel like I'm just unlucky when it comes to having children," she said smiling, even though there was sadness in her eyes. "But it's okay because you're going to be my child now, and my grandchild will be in your womb. I'm so excited to see my grandchild," she added. So I just smiled at what she said. "Thank you Mommy for accepting me, even though I'm not related to you, you're willing to help me," I said to her. "I'm so lucky because you're the one God gave me, a good heart willing to help me and my future child," I added. "There must be a purpose for the Lord, child, why we were brought together in that situation." We immediately smiled at what we said.Chapter 3It was my last day at the hospital, so we were happily chatting with my personal nurse.I didn't need to get a visa because Mommy took care of everything. She had someone get everything I needed, including my school forms for BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, which I was supposed to start this semester and graduate from.I got everything I needed quickly, and I would also be bought new clothes, so I was very grateful for her kindness.Today was the day we were leaving for the USA, where I would start over.So from today onwards, I was fully adopted by Mommy Matilde, and she fully accepted me as her daughter. We were currently on our way to the airport because we were leaving today. We arrived just in time because our flight was called, so we walked straight ahead while her staff carried our luggage. Until we entered the airplane. This was my first time riding this kind of plane, so I was extremely nervous. Until it started to run, so I just held onto my seat."Are you okay, child?" s
Chapter 4Months passed, my belly grew bigger, but it wasn't a barrier to continuing my studies. My pregnancy wasn't a hindrance. I was thankful because my classmates never judged me, and I even made a friend, Elaine Balandra Achaso, who was half-Filipina and half-Spanish.I always teased her because of her face. She was kind and affectionate to me. I asked her for the food I craved, especially since her mother loved to cook delicious meals.Days and months passed quickly, and it was our graduation. We were all so happy because I had overcome the challenges that came my way, both for me and my child. It's no joke to study while pregnant, especially when you're nearing your due date."Congratulations to both of you, especially my daughter Rhian, because despite your condition, you graduated summa cum laude. We are all happy for your success, just keep going, we are here ready to guide you, daughter," Mommy Matilde said to me, making me cry with happiness."Thank you very much Mom and D
Chapter 5Years passed, days and months went by, and I became one of the most famous models in the world. Today, we are celebrating the birthday of my princess, the princess of our lives. Mommy Matilde named her.She is named Angie Suarez. At the age of 5, she has already achieved so much in school. She's intelligent, cheerful, kind, beautiful, and affectionate. She inherited her beauty from her father, not from me.I can't help but remember him. I am just grateful to the Almighty that I inherited my kindness and affection from him.Well, that was before. I will leave that in the past because Rhian is different now—no longer the one who was ridiculed and always wrong in the eyes of my former parents.I have long forgiven them, but their shattered love for me can never be restored. Then someone offered me a modeling contract for their clothing line. Even though their brand wasn't well-known, I accepted it immediately because it was my way of helping promote their creations.I’m not lik
Chapter 6Andrew's POVI'm currently in my own office. After all this time searching for Rhian, I still haven't found her. Every private investigator I've hired has come up empty-handed. They say someone's blocking their investigations, preventing them from getting the information they need to locate Rhian."Is this the price I have to pay for what I did?" I ask myself. "If so, I hope we can at least talk and I can find out if our child is alive," I continue, questioning myself."Sh*t," I mutter angrily, throwing the glass of wine I'm holding. The glass shatters, wine spilling everywhere. I run my hand through my hair in frustration, angry at myself. I call the cleaning crew to clean up the broken glass. After they finish cleaning, I immediately send them away. Then, one of my friends calls, and I answer right away."Hello!" I answer, my voice lacking enthusiasm."I saw her!" he tells me, making my eyebrows furrow in confusion."Who?" I ask."F*ck Buddy, she was with a little girl, an
Chapter 7The next morning, I woke up in our mansion, not remembering how I got back. I brushed aside the confusion and went straight to the bathroom to start my morning routine. It didn't take long for me to finish showering. After my morning routine, I went out of my room to head to the kitchen. But in the middle of the stairs, my amazing mother scolded me."Good, you're finally awake!" she said. "What have you been up to, huh?" she added. I didn't answer, just continued walking."Andrew!" she called, but I ignored her. "I'm talking to you, don't be rude. Where were you last night? I'm trying to talk to you, so answer me!" she added, but I still ignored her.I was still angry at her for forcing my sister to marry a Mafia member. She lost a huge amount of money in a gambling game, a game that destroyed our family. Dad left because Mom was always at the casino. She took it to heart when she found out we lost over two billion at the casino, especially when she learned that my sister wa
Chapter 8I noticed what she said; it seemed she realized I wasn't comfortable being with them. Based on my observation, she was different from the two women who always flaunted their daughters. I smiled at her comment and excused myself before heading to the garden to answer my friend's call."Hello?!" I answered, and it was none other than Julius."Buddy, are you free right now?" he asked.I smiled because this was my chance to get away and avoid my mother. "Yeah! Why?" I replied."Come meet me at INDAY'S BAR; I don't have anyone with me right now," he said, sighing. It sounded like my friend had some problems, so I immediately asked."Do you have problems, Julius?" I inquired, but I only heard another sigh before he answered."Aish! It hurts, Buddy," he said, sounding like he was coming from a breakup."Okay, I'll come to you," I replied, then hung up.I returned to the dining room to politely excuse myself. Even though my relationship with my mother wasn't good, I still had some r
Chapter 9Rhian's POVAs I was getting ready for my meeting with Andrew, my daughter walked in, amazed at how I looked."OMG Mommy, you look so gorgeous and sexy! I wonder why so many men want to court you, even though you have a daughter," she said. I smiled at her words and immediately kissed her cheek, thanking her for the compliment."Ohhh! Thank you so much, my sweet and lovely baby Angie," I replied to my only daughter."Wait here, Mom! I have something to put in your hair," she said, hurrying off to her room. Though I was curious, I waited for her in my room.A moment later, she returned with a silver hairclip designed like a butterfly, adorned with diamonds in every detail."I made it," she said shyly. "I hope you like it, Mom."She placed it on one side of my hair. I was speechless from its beauty."This is lovely, my child," I finally managed to say, filled with admiration. For such a young age, she had created something so beautiful."Do you like it?" she asked, her face be
Chapter 10I looked at him and smiled as if I hadn't experienced the turmoil he put me through yesterday.'Yes, I've moved on, but the pain in my heart still hasn't healed. It's like a fragile thing that, once broken, is hard to put back together, with a scar etched into it,' I thought to myself while raising an eyebrow at him."Yes! Mr. Jackson?" I asked formally."A-ah, n-nothing," he stammered, making my eyebrow raise even higher at his reaction. But I quickly turned my attention to Eli, who was speaking and furrowing her brow."You two know each other?" Eliana, my manager, asked.I quickly responded to her question."Yeah!" I said, causing Andrew to look at me."Ohhhh! Can I know how you two met?" she asked again. I just smiled because I knew she was teasing me."I met him during a part-time job at a fast food restaurant," I replied."Rhian," he said, probably thinking I would deny where we first met.I smiled before continuing, "Where I fell but wasn’t caught," and I followed tha
