Chapter 13

When I realized that there was no help I began to shout on top of my voice for help. Somebody help me I am dying. Somebody help me I am burning. I felt weak and dejected. My eyes firmly closed. I could not stand the pains anymore. I knew that was the end of me. I fell down and pass out. I didn’t see or felt anything again.

The following morning, I came back to my senses. I looked at the time and it was 5 am. I was supposed to go to work. I quickly entered the washroom. As I was bathing I began to recollect what happened to me. My heart troubled whether I still have access to that small book or it has got missing in that process.

I breathed heavily when I came back to my room to see the small book lying on the martial book neatly folded. I was relieved and smile. I took the book and kissed it. With a gentle hug, I put the book down and immediately left for work.

At 5:30 I was behind the shop waiting for my employers. I began to think about what happened last night. I was contemplating how a small book could increase in size by itself. The book could talk and give instructions for humans to follow. What amazed me more was the fact that fire of blood could rest in a bowl and the book didn’t burn but when I put my hand I was burning that I could even felt the fire even in my intestines.

I had closed my eyes and had crossed both hands on my chest sitting down patiently waiting for Rosaline and her parents. I did not know what was happening. Having waited for quite a long I opened my eyes to check if they had arrived. To my surprise, there was a crowd around and some of them with their phones trying to video what was happening to me.

I quickly stood up with a stern face and walked towards Rosaline. The crowd was going back. Why were they trying to film me? I asked Rosaline. She didn’t speak she just handed over the bunch of keys in her hands to me. It was after 6 am.

I hurriedly opened the padlocks and started to clean the shop. In no time I had finished tidying up the place. I single-handedly arranged some of the stocks in front of the shop.

Customers started trooping in from all corners. There was a long queue that needed to be served. All this while Lisa had not entered the shop. She was outside making calls. Rosaline had no option but to go and called her mum to come and help.

I heard Liza asking her daughter in a low tone. Have you asked him why there was such fire around him? She nodded and said this is not the appropriate time we have customers to serve first. The place was engaged throughout the day they had no little time even to go out for food.

I was tired, I sat down to rest a few minutes to start to pack the stock. Suddenly Rosaline burst into laughter as she said wonders would never end. I have seen two miracles with my own eyes today.

She continued Douglas what were you doing in the morning? Were you chanting? There was fire around you. The amazing thing was that the fire was changing colors as it moved around you systematically.

It was very strange indeed. We were compared to wait not to distraught your chanting for about thirty minutes. Really, me chanting that was amazing. I folded my hands and sat to wait for you. I am sad with an embarrassed tone.

Do you want to watch the video? Wait I have it on my phone. She played it and there was no fire hovering around me as she said. What... What, this is strange, I can’t believe it. She looked stupefied as she said that.
