Lucas sat in a poised manner on the couch in the living room with his back leaned against the chair and he crossed his legs while his eyes were on Josephine who tapped her feet on the ground impatiently while waiting for him to give her an answer to the question she asked.

“What did you say your problem was?” Lucas asked and Josephine glared at him.

“I don’t have any problem. I asked you why you deceived me into signing this,” she shook the paper in her hand and placed it on the center table.

“Hmm,” Lucas hummed with humor in his eyes and he said to her, “Did I really deceive you? Or was it you who was eager to sign the contract so I can go along with you without changing my mind? I’m confused now.”

Josephine felt like ruffling her hair but she held her hand in place and clenched it tight. “How do you expect me to follow all these?” she asked, trying to ease her temper.
