Lounge Seats and Stolen Kisses

Even if I try everything to lure my friends back out of the lounge to the dancefloor, I fail every time.

They are so taken by the fancy free drinks and VIP treatment that I soon give up too.

I’m sitting in a corner, swirling my luxurious vodka in the glass in my hand absentmindedly as a deep voice tears me out of my sulking. “Is the seat next to you still free?”

“Yeah,” I answer, passing my tongue over my teeth. “Feel free.”

Domenico sits down with a sigh, pulling at his rolled-back sleeves. “Sorry that we ruined your night out.”

“Oh, no,” I say, scrunching up my face. “Please, it was very nice of you to invite us, and the drinks are great, so…”

The corner of his lips twitches, making my heart flip.

I’m actually thankful for the loud beats of the music that drown the sound of my heart beating out of my chest, and the dimmed lights which disguise my blushing cheeks.
