Finlin made sure the horses were at a full stop before getting out of the seat behind them, they snuffed their nostrils in protest as poor mister Finlin waddled over to our carriage doors and opened them with a slight bow, holding out a hand to help us out.
One by one we exited the carriage, I looked around for a moment to take in my surroundings.
I haven't been around, nor in mystic forest much, I just never had the need nor want to leave the castle.
"Your highness, I shall wait here for your return if that's alright, I'm not one for exploring." He laughed halfheartedly gesturing to his leg, but to my surprise it was not a leg, well not a flesh and bone kind, instead it was a wooden peg in its place.
'makes Sense why he had been waddling like this.' I thought to myself.
I saw enough injuries from fights and war to not be bothered, he must've been a knight to get such an injury, either that or he was once a pirate.
I laughed at t

"You need a way to get back to that man who is waiting for you right? So take Evra, I was keeping her for when you returned anyway." Aurora says her hands clasped calmly behind her back now. "For me? Why?" She gave me a look to suggest that I should leave the questions alone for now. Realizing she was right I let the questions go for now and looked over at Asiya. "Let's take her, we don't have much of a choice now do we?" Asiya says bringing me back to reality. "Right we should be off then." I gently rubbed the mare's snout. "Are you ready Evra?" She flared her nostrils letting me know she was in fact prepared. I pulled myself over her back and pulled Asiya up with me. "Alright let's go." We took off bolting into the sky Asiya screamed, wrapping her arms tightly around my waist to make sure she didn't fall, I laughed in response feeling the cool breeze against my face, as we flew towards the entrance where Finlin was supposed to
“We will talk about all of this later.” He said before dropping off Evra’s back falling towards the ground and landing at ease on his feet. He looked up at me and nodded to say he was fine, he took the hilt of his sword and pulled it forcefully from the sheath with a metal pang. At least five enemies had already met their demise before we got here. I was shocked at how she could protect herself with so much ease. I could hear Senya and Asiya call out to each other about something keeping one of them alive till they get information but the enemy knights were too preoccupied with dodging Asiya’s magic and the rest of our knights blades. ‘I should do something too, instead of sitting up here just watching.’ I thought to myself as I let my magic surge through me and brought down fire balls onto the fight grounds taking out three of a time. More and more enemies began to run from the forest ten, twenty no n
A sudden movement came from the bed where Asiya laid, she sat up right as if waiting for the perfect timing to speak up. “Sire, are you sure that's a smart idea?” “Oh my,- god, Asiya don’t do that.” he placed a steady hand on his chest, bending over from being startled. “Sorry, but my question still stands. Is a war really needed?” Asiya continued. “They kidnapped a woman and two children, they nearly killed you and you’re asking if it’s necessary?” Senya got back to being upright. Barinor stayed quiet as he finished sewing my wound closed. “We have to do something, we can’t let the unnecessary k
“We should get dressed and ready for dinner.” Senya says lazily against my chest. My hand still places gently on the back of his head. “Will your parents be joining us?” “No, they aren’t ones for family gatherings.” He said hatefully yet in a smug tone. He pulled himself up and off of me and sat on the edge of the bed, and picked his clothes up from the floor, putting his pants back on but discarding his shirt by throwing it in the large closet, he stood and buttoned his pants up and went to his closet to look for a new shirt. I wrapped the silk duvet securely around my body as I sat up higher against the headboard of the bed. He turned around and looked at me smiling, but took a black buttoned up shirt off a hanger without looking. “You are so beautiful, laying there I could stand here and look at you all night.” I took the pins that held my hair out and massaged my scalp and smiled back at h
“Now I must do a few things, for now do your regular duties, Celeste is safe and sound as of now, but I want to secure the castle from any danger or threat.” I patted her on her shoulder and I walked towards the guards, Asiya did not follow me this time. “Elchrin, Anordy, how is it neither of you have noticed the people of Erena on our castle grounds?” There was silence, they sat on the benches on each side, Their heads lobbed back slightly, could it be they are ignoring me, or maybe asleep. “I, as king Senya, order you to answer me.” I stared at them angrily as they still say nothing. I stepped toward Elchrin to shake him. “-There’s no point mi lord.” Barinors voice carries as he exits between them.
I made my way upstairs into the large bathroom at the end of the top floor, and all I could think about was the hot boiled water heating my cold prickly skin. I was walking down to the bathroom when I heard Asiya's voice in the room. "I thought you were going to help Celeste bring Fallynn back. How do you plan to do that from a battlefield?" "Asiya, there's a line of duty here. I can't turn my back on something like this." Barinors voice was hushed but I could still hear behind the partly closed door. I positioned myself in ears range behind the wall beside the door, I wasn't one for eavesdropping but this seemed serious. "So you're turning your back on us. Again." Asiya's voice broke.
In whole honesty I’m quite frightened, who else in the castle was a traitor is there anyone I can trust at this point, I shake my mind away and back to the present moment, I shivered as she poured the boiling water into the metal bath, I undressed and got into the hot water, it was both searing and euphoric. I let the water take me under, feeling the heat all over my body, I shivered and pulled myself upwards, and I saw Asiya standing with her hand on her hip agitated, I wiped my face so I was able to see better. “What?” I asked as half my face was still underneath the water. “It wasn’t ready, yet.” She says, sighing. “I’m sorry, Asi, I’m just so, so cold.” I say looking up at her. “Where did he keep you anyway?” She asked, stepping toward the shelf, which held the w
Celeste's pov "I understand where you're coming from, but sometimes we must make difficult decisions, we cannot abandon the country for personal affairs." He paused before continuing. "I know how that sounds." "Good so I don't have to tell you how much of a bigot you're being." I half-heartedly jokes. Passing him and walking to the balcony door putting my hand on the handle about to open it. "Celeste, wait." He tried to stop me, I let go of the door and turning around. "What, Senya? What's the point of being a queen if I can't even enjoy it?" I asked, annoyed. He walked toward me, taking my hand and pulling me to sit me down on the bed.
“Are you sure that’s wise?” Aris asked standing in the doorway with her arms crossed leaning against the door frame. “No, but what choice do I have? Pregnant or not I am still queen I must protect my people… and my husband, I have to train, I have to bring my mother back.” I say swallowing the bile that threatened up my throat. “What good will it do to bring her back, she lost her mind Celeste, and it seems you are close to doing the same,” Aris replies, she seems more harsh than usual. I slowly stood up, out of the way of the mess on the floor, my dress lopped over my shoulders. “I will not sit here and watch my kingdom fall to ruin, and my father will fall to his knees before me and shed blood like the people he slayed,” I spoke with venom. “You’re being reckless, you must think clearly about this.” Her voice became uncertain and full of worry. “The training that she’s speaking of isn’t physical strength, it's mental focus. She will be fine, and I’ll be by her side the entir
I heard quickening footsteps behind me, I spun around quickly hoping to stop the weapon from taking its blow, but I did not stop it. Instead it went through the amulet and the middle of my chest, all the air gasped out my lungs, but the weapon wasn't what surprised me, it was who held it. I could take only a small breath for my last words. "Since I can't kill him, then she will. You know that don't you?" I sneered, as I laughed until he twisted the long blade further into my chest, I coughed up blood, and before I went into forever slumber I hear his words. "If it's a war my dear sister wants, then I'll tear her kingdom down." He whispers in my ear, and that's the last thing I remember. Celeste's P.O.V I felt a searing pain throughout my chest and veins pulling me down to my knees, forcing a scream from my lips so awful I scared myself, my back arched toward the ceiling my hands in strengthened fists flames surrounded me and the mark grew farther up my neck. I heard the door sla
Celeste's P.O.V I was now alone in my room, without the dagger. I wanted to take it with me but Henora, Asiya's mother, insisted on taking it with her, and Asiya decided to keep an eye on her since I wasn't too sure to trust Henora alone. Aris and Tabitha decided it was best to continue on with their duties which meant I was alone for the night, alone to handle my thoughts. Sitting at my desk with a quill, ink and parchment paper I stared blankly towards the window where I got stuck on the balcony. "What do I know about the Amulet so far…" I say outloud to myself. I began to list off everything like; it responds to deep emotions, the stronger the emotion the more Chaos or magic it uses. Whoever has it now has very strong magic, and the Dagger and the amulet are bonded together by something none of us know about. The fae stole the Amulet most likely for my father even though he doesn't have magic. The war when both were created had something to do with my mother and now connects t
Celeste I awoke in bed sitting up slowly with audible yawn, I looked beside me and saw Asiya asleep. She must have stayed with me that night, I don't remember anything of last night I went to move my arm to nudge Asiya and instead felt a searing pain. It looked like black ink In my veins, and it made me nervous. Asiya sat up, her eyes barely open. "Celeste you're awake." "Good morning.'' I say Pulling my legs from beneath the covers. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Are you feeling okay? You passed out and I worried about leaving you alone." "Other than the sharp pain in my wrist, I seem to be okay. I'm sorry for worrying you." I replied. I felt guilty, but my head was still slightly spinning. I tried to blink it away but it persisted. A knock came to the door and it opened a crack to reveal Aris with a tray with two sets of plates with eggs, pancakes and two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice. "Good morning, I brought you both some breakfast." Aris mentions as s
"I don't know what else to do." I admitted looking up at the ceiling. "We should wait until that guy gets back and then we can make a plan." Aris says thinking out loud. "That's if he doesn't get caught." Asiya comments with her hand on her hip. "If Tabitha doesn't want her to send the dagger to Senya, then what should we do?" Aris asked as we stood in a circle. "If she wants, let Tabitha kill him." Asiya shrugged, and we all turned to face Tabitha and she looked horrified. "That actually might be a better plan, something ties the two of them together." Aris says a finger against her lips as she thought about it more clearly. "Is that a joke? I'm not killing a man that is inhumane!" She exclaims loudly, Asiya and Aris both shushed her outburst. "Just because her grandfather could have fought the war with my mother doesn't mean we are connected other than that." I say, as this kept dragging on. "Wait a war?" She asked as if something of the sort piqued her interest. "How the Al
"Yes, of course." She says, with her hands behind her back. Tabitha didn't move, she looked like she had something to hide, but I was too tired to question it. Her hand moved in a strange direction as if she was holding something carefully not to drop it and maneuvering around us the entire time she faced toward us yet walking backwards toward the kitchen. "Are you hiding something?" Asiya asked, her face twisted in suspicion. "No, what would I be hiding?" Tabitha giggled nervously, and Aris came out of the kitchen with a dish towel in hand. Aris looked frightened. "She has a dagger in her hand!" Asiya moved Swiftly in front of me in a protective stance, her magic rising from her fingertips. I let out a sigh, can't I have one normal night with out people trying to murder me? "Wait! It's not what it looks like!" Tabitha yelled, dropping the dagger and placing her hands out in defense. I watched the dagger fall to the floor, it had an obsidian blade with silver and black runes th
I made my way to the dining hall. The smell of steak and potatoes filled the hallways, making my stomach grumble. My stomach felt like it was eating itself from the lack of eating I've been doing since I've been here. The guards held open the door, refusing to look in my direction, I continued going through to see Aris finishing setting up the table. "Good evening, everything is nearly ready, Asiya, isn't back yet but I'm sure she'll be here any moment." Aris speaks, as she places down the cutlery beside each plate filled with steak, potatoes, and salad. "This looks incredible, Aris." I smiled. It wouldn't be right to start eating without Asiya. "Well, I learned from my mother, just like everything else." She chuckled at the compliment. We both laughed as she held out my seat waiting for me to sit, so I did, and she made her way to her own beside me. "I remember when we were children having tea parties in the garden as mother did her daily chores, we would have crumpets with blu
He touched his ear making sure it didn't burn off and he sighed. "Are you talking about the Fae that attacked you and the king had to carry you back?" "How did you know that?" I questioned eyeing him. "When you were 'healing', he told us to search the entire forest for three days but we never found him. It was like he disappeared entirely." He informed me, leaning against the wall. Asiya stood quietly as if she was thinking about something, curious I decided to ask. "What is it?" "The informant told us he was taken and tortured by the Erena kingdom… Maybe he went back?" She suggested. "Why would he go back if he was tortured?" I ask, folding my arms. "It wouldn't be that surprising, it happens all the time, especially with Erena they are known to break people's psyche. Shouldn't you know that, you were the princess." The knight questioned. "I wasn't in the know about my father's important affairs." I admitted remembering growing up, and hated the most, no one told me much of any
Senya I put my helmet on to get on top of my horse Gravyer. I had him ever since I was a child. He's quite old now but no horse can come over Gravyer, chocolate Arabian with a white diamond in the center of his forehead. My feet in the stirrups as I gently kicked his flank to make him move forward. "To Mystic Forest." We galloped quickly the river I said goodbye to my parents passed us by as well as trees and rocks entering the forest, it was just me and Gravyer now, and I wasn't coming back until I get my hands on the past king, it will give me satisfaction to see the son of a bitch suffer. I felt a smile cross my lips as we pushed faster, but I had to get there fast to tell Barinor the plan. It will take me a day or two to get there without Barinors dragon, but I don't trust riding that thing. I worry for Celeste after the outburst that arose at the funeral but she's strong and I know she can protect herself even though she nearly got herself killed. 'What am I going to do
