KING’S LUNA CHAPTER 47.

ESMERALDA’S POV.

Stepping out of the room I had stayed in before, the first time I woke up after the rejection from Anthony, a sense of nostalgia swelled within me. But, unlike the first time, it did not hold me back or made me feel as though life was not worth living entirely. Instead, I felt empowered, and strong—as though I had walked past that stage and have emerged stronger than ever.

As I descended the stairs, now changed into a more comfortable outfit that was waiting for me—though the slacks and top heavily scented of Malakai—I did not hate it, but rather, quite liked it. The sound of the voices from downstairs reached my ears—familiar voices I recognize as one belonging to Malakai—and the other to his most trusted aide, Elias. Upon reaching the end of the stairs, they both noticed my presence and I realized they were seated in the living room—or at least, Malakai was seated while Elias stood, his stance firm and judging from his expression, he did not
