Chapter 32: Ivy

"I found a few errors and brought it to their attention. Both smiled and patted me on the back. They told me that I had bigger concerns to focus my energies on."

We fall into silence. I'm flabbergasted something like that could happen. Especially here at Barnett. This is a top-notch school. It's academically rigorous.

Tension fills every line of Roan's face. "You can't tell anyone about that, Ivy," he mutters. "I'm serious."

Even though I feel conflicted, I jerk my head.

That's not fair to everyone else who works their asses off to pull good grades. Maybe Roan isn't taking advantage of professors who are willing to hand out A's for being a top recruit on campus, but I'm sure there are other student athletes who get by because of it.

Once again, I realize how wrong I was to make a snap judgment about him.

Angling my body closer, I whisper, "I won't tell anyone." It goes against everything I believe in, but I don't want to break his confidence. "I promise."
