The Troll King

“Sire, I have news.” A guard budged into the throne room while the Troll king was having a meeting with his council. Already the knock on the huge double doors caused a stir making everyone in the throne room turn their heads towards the doors.

I gestured with his hand for the doors to be opened. That was when the young guard budged in saying that. “You dare disturb a council meeting!” I bellowed feeling disrespected by the boy, the young guard lowered his head.

“I apologize my king but the news I have can not wait, the council must hear them.” The council members and I shared a look wondering what news the young guard could have that would make him risk his head over.

“Well, spit it out already!” One of the council members said. The young guard looked like he didn’t know if he should continue bowing or straighten up. In the end, he opted to kneel. At least he showed enough respect for me as the king and the elders in the room.

“We just received news; the Malraux Kingdo

The Fairy Princess“It looks like we did well by not killing the troll king’s spies, huh dad?” Not long ago we found out that some of our men were being paid by the troll king for information. My father wanted them dead, but I told him to hold off on that.I told him we could use them to feed the troll king the information we wanted him to have. They were the ones who helped us deliver the information about the Malraux kingdom, wanting to attack them. They are the reason why the Troll king was now going to attack the Malraux kingdom or planning to as we speak. “Well, I didn’t know back then that they would be of use to us. But your decision has proven to be useful as usual.”By the gods, I could not wait to run my own kingdom and let my father handle his own. I was getting tired of bailing him out all the time.“Now what is left is find at opportunity to get rid of that girl, from what you told me, she might be the real deal and we can’t have that.” Well, we tried to get that girl alo

IANNA’S POVThat damn princess was at the training grounds again, she called Helen in a subtle way, and I made it as if I didn’t notice. She told me she wanted to go to the bathroom and drink some water.I was left spurring with Sam, but I could tell they were having an intense conversation there. When she came back, she was no longer the smiling Helen who was encouraging me to train harder. She was now passive and even gave me looks like she wanted to eat me alive. When we were done, she said. “I have a few moves to show you. Meet me here tonight around nine.” She said then walked away. When I told Sam about it, he told me that I should not meet her alone. I didn’t think it was a big deal, this was a palace after all, and Helen was a member of the elite warriors protecting the royal family. She would not do anything stupid, but then again, I thought about how the princess she had befriended wanted me dead. So, I told him that I would ask Aegen to go with me.When I left the training

IANNA’S POVHelen screamed in pain holding her thigh. I rushed to her side keeping low. The arrow was lodged deep into her thigh, and I was afraid to pull it out in case it hit her artery. She would bleed out in minutes and die before we could get help.Arrows did not stop flying in our direction and missing us by mere inches. I kept pulling her further and further away from the arrows. “What did you do, who is doing this?” I asked now more angry than scared.“I did nothing, and I don’t know who could be doing this. This is a palace and is supposed to be safe!” she yelled at me. I didn’t know if I believed her or not. The arrows stopped and I took off my sweater and tied it around her thigh.“We must get out of here; we don’t know if the arrows are the only thing those people have.” I wondered if the war had already started or if it was the princess who send people to kill us.But if it was the princess then why include Helen in the attack? They were friends now. At least from what I

AEGEN’S POVI walked out of Ianna’s cottage just three minutes after she did. I stuck to the shadows going to the training grounds. The closer I got the sicker I felt in the depths of my stomach. Something did not feel right. When I got to the training grounds, she was standing there alone but Helen soon joined her. They were just starting to train, and I sighed in relief thinking that it was all in my head. But just as I was starting to relax, arrows started flying in their direction. My heart nearly stopped when I heard a scream, I thought Ianna was shot, I wanted to rush to her side but that was not going to help her with anything.I stood and rushed in the direction the arrows came from. Still sticking to the shadows. I saw them standing on the roof top of the barn and I rushed there.I pulled one by the leg and he fell on his back. I snapped his neck then moved to the one that was coming to his rescue. I sliced his

AEGEN’S POVIt took almost the whole night to sort out the mess on the training grounds and the roof of the barn. Damon and I burnt the bodies and buried Helen. When we were done it was after two in the morning. We only slept for a couple of hours until my father sent a warrior to wake me up and summon me to the meeting room. I woke up still feeling tired and grumpy. When I got there, Damon was already there. “Why do you like making us wait, do you like feeling important, don’t you?” father said, I did not have the time or energy to deal with him.It was too early in the morning, and I did not sleep well. I took a seat next to Damon. “You insolent child, you think you are grown now that you ignore me when you want to.” I still said nothing.“Father, can we deal with the matter at hand please.” My brother Adolph said. I glanced at him shocked to see him standing up for me and not gloat

IANNA’S POVI was getting tired of the hide and seek the king; his son and the fairies were doing. It was clear now that both sides had something planned. They were both being cunning and manipulative, using everyone around them to achieve what they wanted. The king asked me about last night and I told him the truth just as Aegen told me to. I was not planning to lie as well, after I told them everything the king told me to continue as normal as if nothing happened. He told me to keep to myself but respect his guests. I only nodded and he dismissed me. I didn’t even know why they called me because they said Aegen told them the same thing. Maybe they did not trust him and wanted me to verify it.Whatever their reasons were, I did not like how they were treating him. They didn’t trust him, yet they put their lives in his hands every day. Did they think he could not kill them if he wanted to? Because he could. If the

IANNA’S POVChristina came budging into my room without knocking. When she saw me her eyes watered and then she threw herself on me and hugged me tightly. I was confused as to what was happening with her.“My heart almost stopped when I heard that one of the warriors was killed and that it was a woman. I thought it was you and I couldn’t find Aegen to ask. I almost went crazy!” she cried.Where could she have heard about that? I thought it was being kept a secret since Aegen didn’t want me to stick around that night and his father told me to continue as if nothing happened.“How did you find out about that?” I needed to know, there were many things happening in that palace and I needed to be informed to keep myself safe. I could not depend on Aegen alone to keep me safe.He was never going to be with me all day and night. He had duties and no one knew we were mates. It would raise questions if he started keeping me by his side.“I heard father talking and they said she has no one so n

AEGEN’S POVI could not believe my fucking ears, who did she think she was coming here and asking that. after everything she did and getting Helen killed, she still wanted Ianna. Did she think because we didn’t say anything that we didn’t know what happened? She was smart, she must have known that we knew about what happened and his warriors must have told her what happened and how they failed to kill Ianna. Then why was she there asking her to be by her side. Was it to make it easy to kill her?I was shaking in anger when she said that she had the audacity to ask that of her. How naïve did she think Ianna was? I liked how she responded to her though. I was worried. “Alright then, I will find the prince and ask him to put you on my service.”She said and I waited for Ianna’s response, but it did not come. “I will take my leave now; we will see each other soon.” I heard her say before hearing the door being closed.I walked out of the bathroom and found Ianna standing by the door looki

AEGENThe guard went looking for Ianna’s phone in all the places she went to toady, but he could not find it. I tried calling it again, but it kept ringing with no answer. I didn’t think much of it when I asked my head of security to track it.But I started to worry when she told me that she tracked it to the woods close to our spot. Our spot was between the palace and the deep-water pack. There were only three people who knew about that spot and one of them was dead.Me, Ianna, and my dead sister. Also, I knew that Ianna would not have gone to that spot without me. We promised we would find time to go there together. Plus, the guard said she never left the palace grounds since I left. That only meant one thing, that her phone was stolen, and the culprit was someone who worked in the palace. I wouldn’t have cared about finding the phone if it wasn’t for the serial killer we had in our hands.I could not take any chances and there were no coincidences with these kinds of things. So, I

IannaI studied until noon then I went and got lunch for myself. I was starting to feel dizzy, and I knew it was because I didn’t eat breakfast. Aegen would have been angry with me if he knew I didn’t eat breakfast. He would have accused me of starving his child. Not knowing that I didn’t have appetite this morning. After eating, I felt sleepy, and I decided to go and take a nap for a while before going back to my studies. The week has ended and there were still no new leads on the serial killer. Aegen was getting frustrated by all of it. I could hear it in his voice very time we spoke on the phone. But there was nothing either of us could do about it.This person has to be stopped. One way or the other he has to be found. I told my guard I was going to take a nap for a while and that he should not let anyone disturb me. I missed having a friend in the palace. Now that Aegen was not here, I didn’t have anyone to talk to. It was lonely. The omega bless their souls try to talk to me and

AEGENLeaving the palace was difficult, not it was not but leaving Ianna was. Especially now, knowing that she might be in danger. We didn’t know who this was, we didn’t know where he was. He could be at the palace for all we knew and yet. I was leaving her behind. My heart was not at ease, but I had to go. She wanted me to be the best warrior in the kingdom and not her mate and father of her unborn child. She trusted me to get this person and put this matter to rest.It has been a week since I left her, and three more people have been killed so far. A she-wolf from the silver moon pack and a close guard to the young alpha of the deep-water pack. Jeyden. He too was killed the same way as the others.Another was the young alpha from the Golden Moon pack and this one was a friend of Jeyden. Now I believed that the person who was doing all the killings was after Jeyden, but we still didn’t know why.We were now back at the Deep-Water pack to question the kid. I want thinking this person

IANNAI sat there listening to Damon explain about this serial killer and I didn’t know what to do. Aegen and I have just taken over as leaders of the kingdom and yet the very first challenge we had on our hands had nothing to do with finances.Resolving pack disputes, no, our problem was bigger than anyone else’s. we had a serial killer in our hands, and we had no idea what to do or how to stop the person. I hear Damon saying they are trying to figure out what this person wanted, and I couldn’t care less about that.I wanted the person can be found. The only way to know what the person wanted was to find them and question them. “Tell me Damon, since you and my father have discovered what this person’s Amo is, have you not discovered what he wants already?”I mean, his actions and the scorpion should give them an idea what he wants. “It’s not that simple with this person. The Amo is the same, but that doesn’t give us anything at all. Just some killings done by the same person nothing

AEGENI watched from the window as my mother and Ianna’s father got into the car and left. She has been trying to talk to me since the coronation, but I would not hear any of it. She did something wrong and she needed to know that and learn. This is how Christina started her evil ways and because I forgave her when she did that. She continued to a point that she ended up almost killing my mate. Mother needs to know that we don’t do things like that I was not going to allow her to start now. What she did was vindictive for no reason because Ianna’s father chose her. Why did she have to go the extra mile rubbing it. That is one thing I will never understand.Ianna came and stood behind me. “You should have said goodbye to her.” I scoffed. “She is not dying but leaving the kingdom.” She came and stood in front of me. “You are going to miss her.”I took her into my arms inhaling her scent. “Of course. I will miss her; she is my mother after all and I love her. But, not enough to encourage

MICHAELIt was so good to see how well she was received by the kingdom. I knew they would be like that as soon as they knew who she really was. She too looked happy, I didn’t know if it was because of the crown or the pregnancy. But it didn’t matter. What mattered was that she was happy. But I wouldn’t say the same about Aegen, he looked bothered before going to be crowned. I asked his mother to go and talk to him. I didn’t want him taking the crown if he didn’t want to.My daughter deserved more than that, though I didn’t think being with her was the problem. I was sure it had something to do with his family. That was why I asked his mother to talk to him.“Penny for your thoughts?” I snapped out of it. “I was just thinking about Aegen and what could be bothering him on a day like this. Doesn’t he want the child?” I asked his mother. I didn’t know what to think and I didn’t want to leave Ianna if things were not right with them.“No, it’s not that, he is looking forward to being a fa

AEGEN I didn’t know what to say when she told me that she was pregnant. Of course, I was happy but damn it. Did she have to tell me in front of all those people. How I had to restrain myself and not act cry in front of them.I was going to be their king after all. I pulled her gently close to me and whispered. “You are a very cruel queen and you have not even been crowned yet.” She chuckled. “Why would my kind say something like that on such a day.”I gave her a playful glare. “You told me this here on purpose knowing very well I can’t do what I want to do to you. How could you do that if you were not cruel?” she laughed. “Well, Malraux kingdom, I think we should crown them now before they show us things we are not prepared to see.”That fucking elder said making the crow laugh at our expense. “This is not over, not by a long shot my dear queen.” I whispered to her, and she blushed. I could not believe she was carrying my child. No wonder she was adamant on finishing her studies ear

Today Aegen and I are going to be crowned king and queen of the kingdom then my father will leave with Aegen’s mother to lead the fairies. I still can’t believe those two. But they were happy and there was nothing I could do about it.I was happy for them. Aegen and I have been happy, and we are expecting. But I have not told him about that yet. I plan to tell him after the coronation. To surprise him, am sure he is going to be happy about it.Damon also took the girl from the deep-water pack as his mate, and I believe she had made him soft if I dare say. “I can’t believe this is happening, it is packed out there that it got me scared a little.” He said coming in.I turned to look at him and fixed his tie. “Well, you better get rid of that fear because it is happening. We didn’t want to go to the fairy kingdom, and this is what we got.” He sighed pouting. I kissed him.“Don’t stop, why are you stopping?” I chuckled mo

LUPEI felt sorry for my daughter, the Goddess knows I do but I could not take it anymore. It was too much. The only thing she has been doing through all of this is complain, call me stupid and asking me why I didn’t kill my other daughter.I was tired of it, we have done enough and the reason we were now going to live with the humans, it was because of us. We did this to ourselves, and we had no one else to blame but ourselves. Me especially, I am her mother, and I should have taught her right from wrong. But I didn’t and now it was too late to do anything. “Lissa, go get your bags so we can leave.” She scoffed. “Didn’t you hear what I said mom, I want them to pay for what they did to me. You have to do something.”This child is driving me insane and if she continues this way. I am going to lose my mind and I don’t know what she will do then when I am cray. “You will get me in the car and if you are not there in the next twenty minutes.
