AEGEN’S POV

I kept cursing as I paced. It was all starting to make sense now. “Aegen what is the matter, do you know something?” asked Christina, very anxious to hear what I had to say.

How could I have missed her that day, that damn phone call I took, the girl Damon was talking about. It was Ianna! “Since you say she was your friend, did you know that she was mated to the alpha’s son.”

Christina nodded and it was confirmed. Ianna was right under my nose, and I missed it because of a fucking phone call from Adolph. I swear to the Goddess above, if something bad happens to Ianna, I am going to kill my brother.

“I was at that party, at the Deep-Water Pack. The crown was invited, and father asked me to go. I went out to take a call and when I got back to the party it was already over. Damon told me about a girl who rejected the young alpha. I paid him no mind back then.”

“Fuck!” Christina sat back down looking defeated. “I knew that was her pack and I was hoping to see her that day at th

AEGEN’S POVOn the road, I kept thinking about the fact that I missed Ianna at that party. Not only that, I missed many things about her. I missed that she was the friend my sister kept talking about.I missed the abuse she was facing both at school and at home. Between her smile that she showed me every day and dedication to training. I saw nothing else.I should have known something was up the moment she told me that she had never trained before. After the war, my father passed a law that every pack was to train every member of their pack.I should have asked questions when she told me that she has never trained. Why didn’t I ask? Did I not care or what? I could not figure out why everything about Ianna skipped me.I pride myself on my abilities to see things before they happen. Predict what would happen, how and why. That was one of the qualities that made me the best warrior in the kingdom and why my father kept me around. But I missed this, how? When I got to the pack I stopped a

AEGEN’POVI paced feeling my anger rising by the minute, what the woman said pissed me off more than I could have imagined. I could feel my Lycan on the surface pushing to get through. I punched the wall hard, and the big picture of Lissa fell from the wall and shuttered on the ground.“Aaaa!” I growled loudly fighting with my Lycan trying to keep it at bay. I knew if I gave in, the beast was going to rip them to shreds. I did not want to do that; I didn’t know how Ianna felt about those people and I did not want her to resent me for killing them.I took deep breaths trying to gain control of my emotions and calm myself. At that time my hands were fisted tightly. The woman and her daughter were cowering in the corner. If I didn’t have my Lycan to worry about, I would have enjoyed that terrified look on their faces, but I could not focus on joy at that moment. My joy meant killing them and leaving this house purified with their blood.I could feel myself getting calm and my beast getti

AEGEN’S POVMy warriors quickly gathered and inspected me for injuries. What they didn’t not get was that my injuries could not be seen with a naked eye even if they were to open me up.Damon rushed to me, but I could not stop with the howling. It was better to cry in my wolf form than in human form for everyone to see. This way they would only think one of two things. That I was sick or that I was injured, and they just could not see it. I don’t know who called Adolph, but he appeared looking bored as usual. “What’s with all the noise Aegenwulf?” I didn’t answer him.“Damon, shut this beast up before I do it for him.” My brother then turned to leave. Damon tried coming my way, but I pushed him aside rushing to Adolph with nothing but killing intent.“Fucking stop him!” Damon yelled to my warriors; he knew if my beast got to my brother it was going to kill him. I bore many grudges against my brother. In human form I could still control myself and tolerate him but in Lycan form, I coul

IANNA’POVIt’s been two days since the incident with the rogues and Sam. I allowed him to stay, let’s face it, where was he going to go? His pack abandoned him here and he had nowhere else to go just like me.So, letting him stay was the logical thing to do. He was not bad as well; he could fish and hunt too. He was in charge of the food while I was in charge of our training.Sandra insisted I continue training and Sam was eager as well. I kept asking Sandra what she was and why she could do all those things, but she never gave me an answer. She just told me that I would know in due time. The rogues were still confused people who were like children learning new things all over again. Sam and I had to keep a close eye on them to make sure they didn’t cross over to his pack lands. They did not talk but they could understand. I asked Sandra about that as well and she blamed me for everything. She said it was because I didn’t trust in her or her abilities and that was why things turned ou

IANNA’POV“Aaaaa!” Sam appeared running my way and screaming his lungs out. I thought he had changed but nope. Sam was still the same coward I met two days ago. Or maybe I expected too much of him in the little time we spent together. When he got to me, I turned and ran myself. I didn’t need to ask questions to know that the rogues had started morphing back into their wolf forms. Their feral forms to be precise. We ran and ran without stopping. “I am tired Ianna, can we stop?” asked Sam breathing heavily. “Sandra?” I called my wolf wanting to know if it was safe.I was starting to trust her and what she said. I should have done so when she asked me to with the rogues but in my defense, I didn’t think what she did was possible. If I did and knew her abilities, then I would have fully trusted her.Sandra didn’t say a word. “Let’s go on some more Sam, we need to p

AEGEN’S POV“I don’t think I can keep obeying Damon, it’s been a week since father locked me up in this cell and almost a month since Ianna went missing. I am going crazy man.” I complained to my friend for the hundredth time.“I know you can get out of here by yourself or any of us can give you the key. But it won’t be wise to do so. You will only anger the Oldman even more. Hang in there and make him feel like he has won.”Won my foot, he just wanted to make a point, that he was in charge and a day or two would have been enough to do that not a week.“Besides, I think he is going to let you out today, the fairy king and his princess are coming to the kingdom to finalize the wedding.” My head hurt just by hearing that. father and Adolph are going to bring upon the end of this kingdom.“So, they are going ahead and giving the kingdom to the fairy king on a silver platter, huh? Great just great!” I don’t know when father is going to open his eyes and see the error of his ways.Maybe he

AEGEN’ POVFather let me out of the cell that day, just before the fairy king arrived with his army of soldiers. I didn’t know if their purpose for coming to our kingdom was to finalize the wedding stuff or war.One could mistake it for war judging by the number of warriors they brought. They took up the whole of the east wing and that was the biggest wing in the palace.Father and Adolph had people running around tending to their every whim. Adolph strolled around the palace grounds with the fairy princess. The funny thing was that the princess looked like she was looking for an escape route.I was watching them from my balcony as they moved from one place to another with more than ten warriors following them behind. I mean, she was going to be loving in this palace and yet. She was walking around like she was in an enemy camp.Which was the right way to act if that was what she actually thought, and it also meant that the father and son duo had it all wrong. The fairy king did not w

AEGEN’S POV“Is this my marriage or yours, will you be the one spending your life with him or me?” the princess straight out asked her father, and I was amazed by her courage or stupidity, I didn’t know which, yet.“If you want things to go as planned then you will marry the stupid boy and learn to love him over time. Build a family and be happy.” The princess glared at her father. “You said he is the one the king doesn’t like right?”I didn’t know how my situation was relevant to what they were talking about. “Whatever you are thinking Isabella, don’t do it.” I get the feeling that the brains of the fairy kingdom did not belong to the king but his daughter the princess. The king was a known tyrant, but he did not have the mind to think strategically like his daughter could. His past battles and wars were strategically planned and executed. The king doesn’

AEGENThe guard went looking for Ianna’s phone in all the places she went to toady, but he could not find it. I tried calling it again, but it kept ringing with no answer. I didn’t think much of it when I asked my head of security to track it.But I started to worry when she told me that she tracked it to the woods close to our spot. Our spot was between the palace and the deep-water pack. There were only three people who knew about that spot and one of them was dead.Me, Ianna, and my dead sister. Also, I knew that Ianna would not have gone to that spot without me. We promised we would find time to go there together. Plus, the guard said she never left the palace grounds since I left. That only meant one thing, that her phone was stolen, and the culprit was someone who worked in the palace. I wouldn’t have cared about finding the phone if it wasn’t for the serial killer we had in our hands.I could not take any chances and there were no coincidences with these kinds of things. So, I

IannaI studied until noon then I went and got lunch for myself. I was starting to feel dizzy, and I knew it was because I didn’t eat breakfast. Aegen would have been angry with me if he knew I didn’t eat breakfast. He would have accused me of starving his child. Not knowing that I didn’t have appetite this morning. After eating, I felt sleepy, and I decided to go and take a nap for a while before going back to my studies. The week has ended and there were still no new leads on the serial killer. Aegen was getting frustrated by all of it. I could hear it in his voice very time we spoke on the phone. But there was nothing either of us could do about it.This person has to be stopped. One way or the other he has to be found. I told my guard I was going to take a nap for a while and that he should not let anyone disturb me. I missed having a friend in the palace. Now that Aegen was not here, I didn’t have anyone to talk to. It was lonely. The omega bless their souls try to talk to me and

AEGENLeaving the palace was difficult, not it was not but leaving Ianna was. Especially now, knowing that she might be in danger. We didn’t know who this was, we didn’t know where he was. He could be at the palace for all we knew and yet. I was leaving her behind. My heart was not at ease, but I had to go. She wanted me to be the best warrior in the kingdom and not her mate and father of her unborn child. She trusted me to get this person and put this matter to rest.It has been a week since I left her, and three more people have been killed so far. A she-wolf from the silver moon pack and a close guard to the young alpha of the deep-water pack. Jeyden. He too was killed the same way as the others.Another was the young alpha from the Golden Moon pack and this one was a friend of Jeyden. Now I believed that the person who was doing all the killings was after Jeyden, but we still didn’t know why.We were now back at the Deep-Water pack to question the kid. I want thinking this person

IANNAI sat there listening to Damon explain about this serial killer and I didn’t know what to do. Aegen and I have just taken over as leaders of the kingdom and yet the very first challenge we had on our hands had nothing to do with finances.Resolving pack disputes, no, our problem was bigger than anyone else’s. we had a serial killer in our hands, and we had no idea what to do or how to stop the person. I hear Damon saying they are trying to figure out what this person wanted, and I couldn’t care less about that.I wanted the person can be found. The only way to know what the person wanted was to find them and question them. “Tell me Damon, since you and my father have discovered what this person’s Amo is, have you not discovered what he wants already?”I mean, his actions and the scorpion should give them an idea what he wants. “It’s not that simple with this person. The Amo is the same, but that doesn’t give us anything at all. Just some killings done by the same person nothing

AEGENI watched from the window as my mother and Ianna’s father got into the car and left. She has been trying to talk to me since the coronation, but I would not hear any of it. She did something wrong and she needed to know that and learn. This is how Christina started her evil ways and because I forgave her when she did that. She continued to a point that she ended up almost killing my mate. Mother needs to know that we don’t do things like that I was not going to allow her to start now. What she did was vindictive for no reason because Ianna’s father chose her. Why did she have to go the extra mile rubbing it. That is one thing I will never understand.Ianna came and stood behind me. “You should have said goodbye to her.” I scoffed. “She is not dying but leaving the kingdom.” She came and stood in front of me. “You are going to miss her.”I took her into my arms inhaling her scent. “Of course. I will miss her; she is my mother after all and I love her. But, not enough to encourage

MICHAELIt was so good to see how well she was received by the kingdom. I knew they would be like that as soon as they knew who she really was. She too looked happy, I didn’t know if it was because of the crown or the pregnancy. But it didn’t matter. What mattered was that she was happy. But I wouldn’t say the same about Aegen, he looked bothered before going to be crowned. I asked his mother to go and talk to him. I didn’t want him taking the crown if he didn’t want to.My daughter deserved more than that, though I didn’t think being with her was the problem. I was sure it had something to do with his family. That was why I asked his mother to talk to him.“Penny for your thoughts?” I snapped out of it. “I was just thinking about Aegen and what could be bothering him on a day like this. Doesn’t he want the child?” I asked his mother. I didn’t know what to think and I didn’t want to leave Ianna if things were not right with them.“No, it’s not that, he is looking forward to being a fa

AEGEN I didn’t know what to say when she told me that she was pregnant. Of course, I was happy but damn it. Did she have to tell me in front of all those people. How I had to restrain myself and not act cry in front of them.I was going to be their king after all. I pulled her gently close to me and whispered. “You are a very cruel queen and you have not even been crowned yet.” She chuckled. “Why would my kind say something like that on such a day.”I gave her a playful glare. “You told me this here on purpose knowing very well I can’t do what I want to do to you. How could you do that if you were not cruel?” she laughed. “Well, Malraux kingdom, I think we should crown them now before they show us things we are not prepared to see.”That fucking elder said making the crow laugh at our expense. “This is not over, not by a long shot my dear queen.” I whispered to her, and she blushed. I could not believe she was carrying my child. No wonder she was adamant on finishing her studies ear

IANNATwo months have passed, and it was the day of the coronation. Today Aegen and I are going to be crowned king and queen of the kingdom then my father will leave with Aegen’s mother to lead the fairies. I still can’t believe those two. But they were happy and there was nothing I could do about it.I was happy for them. Aegen and I have been happy, and we are expecting. But I have not told him about that yet. I plan to tell him after the coronation. To surprise him, am sure he is going to be happy about it.Damon also took the girl from the deep-water pack as his mate, and I believe she had made him soft if I dare say. “I can’t believe this is happening, it is packed out there that it got me scared a little.” He said coming in.I turned to look at him and fixed his tie. “Well, you better get rid of that fear because it is happening. We didn’t want to go to the fairy kingdom, and this is what we got.” He sighed pouting. I kissed him.“Don’t stop, why are you stopping?” I chuckled mo

LUPEI felt sorry for my daughter, the Goddess knows I do but I could not take it anymore. It was too much. The only thing she has been doing through all of this is complain, call me stupid and asking me why I didn’t kill my other daughter.I was tired of it, we have done enough and the reason we were now going to live with the humans, it was because of us. We did this to ourselves, and we had no one else to blame but ourselves. Me especially, I am her mother, and I should have taught her right from wrong. But I didn’t and now it was too late to do anything. “Lissa, go get your bags so we can leave.” She scoffed. “Didn’t you hear what I said mom, I want them to pay for what they did to me. You have to do something.”This child is driving me insane and if she continues this way. I am going to lose my mind and I don’t know what she will do then when I am cray. “You will get me in the car and if you are not there in the next twenty minutes.
