Anthony looked at her.

Her eyes reddened, and she looked so aggrieved as if she was about to cry.

Anthony's heart hurt. He felt terrible, but he was unwilling to back down.

"I clearly heard a man on the phone saying he was bringing you food," Anthony insisted.

Lena didn't deny it. "Yes, he did bring me food. Because someone left me at noon, I felt so bad I couldn't even eat. I didn't eat anything after the noon training either. The instructor was just being responsible as he was afraid I'd faint from hunger on the field."

She stared at him while her eyes grew wet. "And what about you? How did you treat me?"

If he didn't trust her and thought poorly of her, he should have said so earlier.

Then, she wouldn't need to stay here to complete her school's assessment in order to satisfy his mother.

Seeing her pitiful look, all of Anthony's anger disappeared, and was replaced by heartache.
