Margot was speechless.

"I'll call Chester and ask him to look for buyers now," Curtis said and pretended to make a call.

Margot calmly looked at him. She did not believe that he would sell Lilac off.

Lilac was his daughter. She would tell him the truth and make him suffer from regret if he really sold Lilac off.

Curtis kept his phone and looked at Margot when he realized she did not fall for it.

Silence filled the atmosphere as the both of them looked at each other. There was a hint of awkwardness that lingered in the air.

Margot quickly avoided his gaze as she continued eating her oatmeal.

Curtis no longer forced her as he leaned by the bedside and endured his hunger. He eyed her discreetly when he felt the overbearing hunger.
