Margot hummed in assent.

Natalie understood and said to Curtis, "Let's take her back to her university."

Curtis was naturally worried. He harbored a fear that Margot might not be safe whenever she was out of his sight. However, if returning to the university was the only way to lift her spirits, then he could only let her go.

"Get up, Margot. Pack your things, and I'll take you back to the university."

Curtis helped her stand.

Margot remained silent and behaved according to Curtis' commands—resembling a well-behaved child.

Even as Curtis drove her to school, Margot remained seated in the passenger seat without saying a word and simply stared out the window.

Curtis, on the other hand, kept glancing at her. Margot's silence made him feel uneasy.

"Margot, don't be so quiet. If you have something to say, just say it. I'd rather we argue than you saying nothing at all."
