10 days left.
I only have 10 days left to kill chase.
Today, I’m going to meet Chase for lunch while finding information about him. Heading down the lobby, I see Chase is leaning outside his car waiting for me with a few girls are eyeing him like candy and trying to get his attention.
I rolled my eyes seeing them. I waved my hand to Chase which he replies with a slight smile and a wave. Making my way to him, I saw the girls are glaring at me. Do they think I will steal their man? Pftt.. yeah right.
I’m only here for the mission not to date this man.
"I see you have a fan," I said gesturing to the girls that are still looking at him. "Oh them?" I nodded. He winks at the few girls. I took a look at the girls and found them blushing. I don’t know why but feel irritated seeing him flirt with them. But he’s not mine so why should I feel irritated? He has the right to do whatever the hell he wants.
"Hey, you okay?"
Putting on my leather jacket, I tuck my gun in the waistband of my jeans. Taking my knife, I shove it inside my boots. After I’m done getting ready, I grab my car keys and head down to the basement. I walked towards my car and got in.Opening my phone, to see the person I have assigned to kill, I drive out from the basement to Chateau Marmont the location he’s in right now. It took me 45 minutes to arrived at Chateau Marmont. Parking my car at the parking lot, I got out of the car and make my way inside the hotel.Looking around to find a safe spot to open my phone to check the surveillance camera and find where’s heat. Once I found where he is, I make my way to the restaurant and saw he’s eating outside. But not alone, there’s someone with him. Taking out my shades, I wear them and walked outside. I look around for an empty seat and found one behind him.A waitress come to my table and asked for my orders, I order a cocktail and fr
My eyes fluttered open as I felt the light-filled my room. I turned my head to see Blake still sleeping. Reaching out my hands, I caressed his cheek. Blake is the only person who knows my past, the one who knows why I can get kidnapped. But he doesn’t know Chase was the one who caused it. I don’t know what he will react if he knows I know Chase.I sighed silently. "What are you thinking early in the morning?" Blake whispers still with his eyes close.Retracting my hand from my back, Blake opens his eyes. "What are you thinking?" he reaches out and strokes my hair. I smile softly at him. "Nothing, just thinking why are you here?""I want to know why you just flew out like that, without any explanation. And the last time we saw you, you act really cold to Drake and me, that’s why I told the team I wanna find you and they volunteer." I jolted from my sleeping position. I frowned looking at him. "You were the one who plans this? To find me?"
"Are you sure you can kill Wyatt and Gerald in a room full of people?" Blake asks."I can. And stop asking me for the last 5 minutes.""I’m just worried okay. This is your first mission to kill 2 people in a room full of witnesses.""I promise you I’m fine." I peck his lips. "Okay, I gotta go. See you later on at the gala.""Will do." Blake walked out of the room. The bathroom door open, Emily walked out with a beautiful forest green maxi dress with slit. "Wow, you look beautiful and I bet all eyes will be on you, Emily.""That’s the point, to lure Wyatt and Gerald. And the dress you’re wearing really suits you and your hair color." I’m wearing a midnight blue halter backless dress.Slipping on my earpiece to my ear, I grab my undetected black clutch that contains a small gun. I turned to Emily and saw her slipping a knife inside her thighs. "You ready?" I asked. "I’m ready. Let’s go." We walked out
"Cheers!" we all clink or glasses and drown our drinks. We are currently back at the base and celebrate our success in killing 2 people in one night. Emily is taking care of Drake's bloody arm. Even though we didn’t come back clean and shiny at least we still in one piece.I saw Emily grabbing a pinset and pulled the bullet out of it. I smirked as I saw Drake squealed like a fucking little girl."You act like a little girl Drake," I said."Do you think it- ouch! Give me a little warning or something." He hissed when Emily poured the alcohol into his wound."It’s the only way to make you shut up." Emily then continues treating his wound. I poured myself another drink and downed it in one gulp. "Woah, rough night?" Blake commented. "It seems like killing 2 people in just a mere minute kinda taking a toll on me."Our attention drifts to the television when the news anchor is talking about an accident in an event that is held tonight
"Why are you asking us to plant a small camera in your hotel room?" Austin asks."Because today, Chase and I will be having dinner here in my hotel room. In case anything could go wrong, you guys will know it." I explain. Drake turns to me while crossing his arms over his chest."But don’t you think it’s quite suspicious that he asked you out for a dinner after we killed Wyatt and Gerald later that night?""We’ll just have to wait and see.""Incoming!!" my hotel room burst open revealing Emily holding a dressing-case in her hand. "Look what I found!" she holds out the dressing-case while smiling excitedly. "Why are you so excited?" I scrunched my eyebrow in confusion. She closes the door and walked towards us. "Because you have to dress to impress." Crossing my arms over my chest, I looked at her raising my eyebrow. "So you mean I have to dress to impress him before I’ll kill him?""Yeah, what’s wrong w
"Hi," I greeted with a soft smile grazing my lips."Hey, you look beautiful." I looked down shyly. "Thanks. Come in." Opening the door wide, I let Chase in then close the door. "Nice hotel room."I lead him to the balcony where our dinner is place. I settled myself at the seat and so is Chase. "Oh, this is for you. A beautiful red rose for a beautiful lady."Chuckling, I took the bouquet from him. "Thank you very much. You sure know how to charm a woman.""I try." I put the rose down. "So how are you?" Chase asks. "I’m great. How about you? Busy lately?""You could say that. Since my uncle died, I have to take over his company for a while and wait till his son is older to run the company.""I’m sorry to hear that.""It’s fine." He looked out to the view."If you don’t mind me asking, how did your uncle died?""The autopsy report said that he had been poison.""Did you find the person yet?"
Hissing in pain as Emily clean the cut and wound on my face. She told me the side of my eyebrow got cut and my lips too. She also told me there will be a bruise on my cheeks and my left eye since Chase punches me pretty hard.To add my pain, I currently have a headache courtesy to Chase that made my head collide with a concrete floor."Ruby! You okay?" Blake burst in, looking at me worriedly. I shoot him a weak smile. "I’m okay just a little hurt." He went to my side. "I told you to be careful." I chuckled lightly. "I was being really careful but I think Chase just has a good feeling.""How did he know?" Drake asks. I shrugged. "I honestly don’t know. From the very start, he was acting quite off and he kept looking at me suspiciously. I mean you guys heard how many times he emphasizes my name right?" they nodded their heads."And I got a feeling that he has found out about it.""But after that, what are you guys talking about?" sighing,
After my encounter with Chase, I head back to the base. As I arrived, I quickly made my way to my room not bother to stop and look at my friends questioning eyes. Sighing as I lean back to the door. I sat at the edge of the bed then laid down. As I stare at the white ceiling, I can’t help but chuckle.I only have 5 days left to kill. And I saw Chase in front of my fucking eyes with no witnesses other than Fred. But something inside me prevents me from doing it. Honestly, I’m confused at myself either. Like, since when I have a heart of gold. I’ve known as a cold-hearted assassin that won’t give a second chance to people. But why am I hesitating?Groaning, I cover my face with both of my palms. Michael was right, I fucked up.The door of my room opens and I don’t bother to look up. "Something caught your mind?" my head perked up and I saw Blake crossing his arms over his chest while leaning to the door frame. I laid my head ba
Ruby"That son of a bitch!"The door slammed shut behind me with a resounding thud, the sound reverberating through the empty hallway like a thunderclap in the midst of a storm. Anger boiled within me like a tempest raging in the depths of my soul, threatening to consume me whole with its fiery intensity.I pace back and forth across the room, my mind swirling with a whirlwind of emotions. Anger, frustration, betrayal – they all swirl together in a tangled mess, threatening to overwhelm me like a tidal wave crashing against the shore. But amidst the chaos of my thoughts, there's something else, something I can't quite put my finger on. It's a strange sensation, like a fluttering in my chest, a quickening of my pulse that I can't quite explain. But I push it aside, dismissing it as nothing more than the remnants of the adrenaline rush from our fight in the kitchen. I take a deep breath, trying to calm the storm raging within me. I can't let Chase get to me, can't let his accusations an
Chase HudsonA stab of frustration gnawed at the corners of my mind as Ruby stormed out of the living room, her demeanor as cold as ever. For a split second it had felt like she had let her guard down, that she had let herself get comfortable with her surroundings. But as soon as she noticed my presence, her relax demeanor replaced once more by the impenetrable wall of mistrust and suspicion that she had built around herself.I sighed heavily, feeling as though she were trying to avoid me at all costs. With a weary shake of my head, I loose the tie around my neck and headed to my study. The smell of mahogany and leather enveloped me like a warm embrace, and I settled into the plush armchair behind my desk. Pouring myself a generous measure of whiskey, I took a sip and let the fiery liquid burn its way down my throat, the warmth spreading through me like a warm blanket against the chilly air.As I settled into the comfort of solitude, I reached for my phone and dialed the number of my
As I wandered aimlessly through the grand halls of Chase's mansion for what felt like the hundredth time, a sense of futility washed over me like a tidal wave, threatening to drown me in a sea of confusion and despair. There was no getting away from the cruel reality of my imprisonment, no matter how hard I searched or how many rooms I examined. With a heavy sigh, I finally conceded defeat, the weight of my exhaustion bearing down on me like a burden too heavy to bear. I made my way back to the bedroom, the familiar scent of lavender and sandalwood enveloping me like a comforting embrace as I sank down onto the plush mattress, the softness of the pillows cradling my weary body like a mother's gentle touch. My mind was filled with memories of the past as I lay there, staring up at the ceiling with blinding eyes. It served as a bittersweet reminder of the life I had left behind. I hadn't had an actual rest in such a long time, a break from the never-ending cycle of violence and deceit t
The tension in the air was palpable, thick enough to suffocate any semblance of ease as Chase and I sat in silence, the only sound echoing through the room the clinking of our cutlery against porcelain plates. I could feel Chase's eyes burning into me, his gaze like a physical weight that bore into my very soul, but I refused to meet his stare, keeping my focus fixed firmly on my meal as if it were the only thing that mattered. But then, just as I began to relax into the comfortable rhythm of our silent standoff, Chase opened his mouth to speak, his voice cutting through the silence like a knife."Why were you at the party, Ruby?" he asked, his tone deceptively casual yet laced with an undercurrent of suspicion that sent a shiver down my spine.I froze, my fork halfway to my mouth as I struggled to find the right words to answer his question. But before I could formulate a response, Chase continued, his words more of a statement than a question."You were there to kill me, weren't you
RubyI have nowhere else to run.The darkness of the woods enveloped me like a suffocating embrace as I stumbled through the tangled underbrush, my heart pounding in my chest with the frenzied rhythm of fear. I glanced over my shoulder, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I strained to catch a glimpse of Chase's looming figure in the distance. I kept moving forward out of sheer willpower and the survival instinct, but there was no sign of him, no evidence of his persistent pursuit.I knew I was lost, the dense canopy of trees stretching out in all directions like a labyrinth of shadows. However, I refused giving up and held onto the flimsy hope that, somewhere, someway, I am able to get away from Chase. My wounded arm throbbed with a dull ache due to the fight that I had earlier at the party. I grimaced as I slowed my pace, my breath hitching in my throat as I leaned against a gnarled tree trunk to catch my breath. My limbs were gnawing with fatigue, which was eating away at my streng
Chase Hudson The weight of the phone call lingered heavy in the air as I stood outside the hotel room, my mind racing with a tumult of conflicting emotions. "Boss," came the familiar voice on the other end, crisp and efficient as always. "Report," I commanded, my voice tinged with urgency. "There's been a development regarding the incident at the party earlier," my informant began, his tone grave. "We found out that she infiltrated the party using fake names and ID. She went undercover as a waitress, and she is not acting alone. There are four others involved in her plan." I clenched my jaw, my mind racing to piece together the puzzle before me. "Do we have any information on them?" I demanded, my patience wearing thin. "Unfortunately, no," my informant replied. "Their identities and whereabouts remain unknown. But from what we've gathered, they're not your run-of-the-mill criminals. They're skilled, elusive, and highly dangerous." I cursed under my breath, a sense of foreboding
The air in the dimly lit hotel room hung heavy with tension, thick enough to suffocate any semblance of ease. Chase, his steely gaze fixed upon me, seemed more like a predator ready to pounce than a man engaged in conversation. And here I was, Ruby, the unintended prey ensnared within his grasp.I shifted in my seat, not out of discomfort, but out of a calculated attempt to maintain some semblance of control in this precarious situation. "So, Chase," I drawled, feigning nonchalance as I met his gaze head-on, "what's a charming fellow like you doing in a dingy place like this?"Chase's expression remained impassive; his features carved from stone. "Cut the act," he retorted, his voice devoid of any trace of warmth. "I know why you're here. What I want to know is why you decided to crash the party and disrupt my plans."Ah, yes, the party. It seemed my little escapade had ruffled more feathers than I had anticipated. But then again, when did I ever play by the rules? "Well, Chase, darli
I open my eyes and immediately squinted as it made contact with the bright light. I feel something tight on my wrist but trying to move was absolute agony. The wound from the gunshot earlier hasn’t been treated and the fabric is still wrapped around my arm. I groaned in pain as I tried to wiggle my hands as the pain shoot right through my arm. I give up and examine the place instead. I looked around the room trying to figure out where I am, but no clue comes to mind. The room is quite small, but it can fit two people. I tilt my head back and realize there’s a bed and a bathroom in the left corner of the room. This place looks familiar. It looks like a motel room. But is it? I glanced at the clock on the bedside table and saw the time. 1:40 AM My eyebrow furrowed in confusion. How long was I out? More importantly, how am I here? What was the last thing I remember? All these questions ran through my brain. Closing my eyes in hope I could remember the last thing that happened.
"Curious to find out the champagne you spike went?" he leaned forward with a smirk etched on his lips. "See that old man wearing expensive tux with women on each side? He is holding the drink that should be mine." My eyes widen in shocked. Shit! Chase is my target not the old man. I can’t let him drink the champagne or it will make the situation worse. A hand grab ahold of my arm to stop me as I stood up. "Where are you going? Planning to take the drink?" yanking my arm with no avail due to his death grip, he leans closer to my ear. "If you want to see that man survive, you must talk but if you plan otherwise then he’ll die." I face him as I clenched my jaw and glared at him in anger. "There’s nothing to talk about." "Oh, trust me babe, there is." I hissed. "Do not call me that." He raised his brows amusedly. "Why getting the feeling of déjà vu?" balling my fist up, I pressed my body to him catching him off guard. "You know what? Let the old m
