Despite the long day ahead of me, I found it hard to sleep. I mean, who would have especially when someone told you that you’re a witch. And I was pretty sure that I didn’t mishear them because they repeatedly declared that I’m a witch.

If Tyrelle didn’t have the initiative to pull me back, I feel like I would have stood there frozen.

“Meow.” Come to think of it; I brought the cat home with me without even thinking it through. My mom and dad weren’t aware of the cat either since they were busy in the hospital that they had to work overtime.

The little black cat hopped on my pillow as if it sensed that I was troubled.

The next day, Tyrelle and I headed to school early in the morning to come and see Doctor Kusher. It was me who requested this despite Ael’s warning to no longer converse with the witch doctor. There was just something in Al’s words that made me think that there was more to this witch stuff that he didn’t want me to find out. It was an impulse decision on my part to keep my mind off of worrying about my parents as they haven’t returned since yesterday. They also haven’t responded to my calls or messages. “Miss Gabriella, I am happy to see that you returned.” Despite doctor Kusher’s words, the look in his eyes contradicted them. It seemed that he was focused more on something other than our

My Killer Smile. As it turns out, it was a magical phenomenon. According to the doctor, because of the vast amount of magic that my bloodline has, my magic took it upon itself to make a defense mechanism to keep me safe. He told me that it was a common occurrence to people of my Opera’s bloodline because witches with high raw magic are hunted down during the old times. My killer smile was only my protection to keep me safe from danger. And according to him, the only way for me to remove my killer smile is for me to learn magic so it would deem me powerful enough that I would no longer need it. I managed to contact Tyrelle during lunch, and I told him everything that happened during his

Since that day, I no longer saw Aelfric. My parents were unharmed, as Tyrelle had promised, while the majority of the doctors were injured in some way. According to my parents' story, someone locked my parents up in the ER when the attack happened. They, along with the rest of the people in the room, were perplexed and shaken the moment they got out. In the meantime, the rest of the hospital staff had to undergo therapy sessions for what happened - my parents included. Days went by, and soon I had to meet up with Tyrelle’s father again. But this time, fortunately, they no longer have to kidnap me because I am going with Tyrelle.

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 35 Witch’s Domain

“Julie?” I gasp when I see her at the place where I am supposed to meet with Doctor Kusher. We were on a private property where the witches live. The entirety of the land is enclosed in tall bamboo woods. We stood in front of a massive house. I hesitated to call it a house because it typically looks like a massive witch's home, complete with pointed roofs and square-framed windows. The wooden door at the front looks a little pointed and blends in with the stone material of the entire house because of its dark color. The area is wide, with a ton of greenery in sight. There's even a huge garden dome full of plants they were raising that I'm not sure what it's called. Then, my eyes moved to a meditation area on the far side of the house out of curiosity. It’s the firs

The witch's domain is like a maze. Tall hedges keep blocking my path, making it difficult to remember where I’ve been. Now, I’m starting to wonder if rushing off and leaving Doctor Kusher behind isn’t such a good idea. “Lady Gabriella,” speaking of the witch doctor, is incomparable. The doctor rushes to me. His glasses almost fall from his nose as he runs. He sighs and leans forward. His hands support his body as he rests them on his knees. “Good. I finally caught up to you.” He says this before fixing his posture. “Let’s go, lady.” “Wait. Stop.” I planted my heels on the ground to stop him from taking me away. “The wolf.”

I was in a room and being pampered by Julie. She made me drink some sort of herbal tea that’s supposed to restore my energy and help me recover from the fatigue of using my magic. According to her, my first time using my magic had been used tremendously, which resulted in my headache. “What about Al? What happened to him?” I hand Julie the empty cup of tea that she made me drink. It’s disgusting, and I certainly have no desire to empty it. I had already consumed half of the contents in the cup. Julie didn’t seem to mind when she took the cup from me. “He’s in another room. Sleeping.” Julie must have read my mind by looking at my face. “He’s going to be fine.” “But I didn’t-” “I don’t know why you continue to associate with those supernaturals, but they are not good. You can never trust them.” She says. This time, I turn to Julie. I want to comfort her with a smile, but I can’t exactly do that at the moment. “Julie, can I ask you something?” I took her raised brow in question as

Tyrelle accompanies me the next day for my second day of training with the witches. He’s already aware of the circumstances regarding Aelfric, so he wants to come and see him for himself. Aside from accompanying me to the location, he’s also here to ask him a few questions. “According to Doctor Kusher, he’s already been transferred to another room.” Tyrelle and I walk side by side as we are being escorted by the other witches inside of their home. Tyrelle seems to have two types of images among the female witches. One is of adoration, while the other is of fear. I recall Julie telling me about the witches and wolves’ relationship before, so I suppose that explains the mixed reactions we're getting. “Are you and Al going to fight again?” I sneak a glance at him to see what his reaction is going to be. “I simply want to ask him some questions regarding the attack in the hospital.” He gives me a side glance when we finally pause in front of a door. He knocks on it before adding, “Y

Once again, Al disappeared. Tyrelle and I have no idea where he went, but every night, he would leave a note on my bedside table that was too skin-crawling for me to even say out loud or even read. But, at least it’s an assurance that he is alive. It’s been over a month since Al’s absence, and with that, the attacks of the other packs have stopped. My witchly lessons continued, but at a very slow pace since none of the witches could really teach me how to use my type of magic. Mine and Tyrelle’s fake dating seems to continue and we would usually go on fake dates to further convince his father. We get along well, but somehow, I always have this guilty sort of feeling that whenever I am with Tyrelle, I somehow imagine Aelfric popping out of nowhere to ruin the date. He never did, but the night after hanging out with Tyrelle, he would write a three-page love letter, detailing how he planned to murder him once he was no longer busy. I know I should be concerned, but it is also a reli

  • Killer Smile   Epilogue

A young boy with brown hair and a combination of sea green and turquoise blue eyes walks in the wallway of their mansion. He was following a middle aged man while he was telling him about the history of their family. “I don’t understand why I have to learn about this.” The young boy says this while grumpily kicking the carpet. “Young Master Gabriel!” Rupert, the man that he was following and also the butler of their family, cast him a disapproving glare. “Please stop. You might hit and break something!” The boy rolls his eyes. He places his hands in his pockets with a huff. “Can we just skip this for some other time? I have football practice to attend to.” The butler raises a brow at him. “Didn’t your father ground you for three days because you hit someone?” “Just let me do anything other than give me a history lesson about the second Alpha! I mean, what’s so interesting about his story anyway?” Gabriel tried to keep his temper in check because his wolf might just decide to tak

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 47 Starting Over

Al barely looked up when Deindra leaps and morphs in the air, shifting into his wolf form to attack. Al barely managed to move and roll away when he landed, but that did not stop Deindra when he runs to chase Al and aimed for his throat. Al raised his paw to protect his neck from getting bitten, but ended up with a bleeding leg. He screams in pain and stands up on his back legs to swipe Deindra’s wolf with his other front paw. As an alpha wolf, there’s no doubt that Al is bigger than Deindra. Even though he is weak, his hits still pack a punch and Deindra released his hold on Al’s paw. Al could have ended it right there, but I guess the delirium that he got from the pain was still in effect because he started to become whoozy. I made a mistake. I was wrong to believe that Al could have handled the situation. We failed to consider the after effects that the curse would cause him. I shouldn’t have listened to him. It doesn’t matter. It has already passed. The only thing that I can

Their worried looks frightened me long before I felt Deindra grab me from behind. His grip on my wrist was so tight that I teared up a bit at the pressure. “I greet thee, Alpha Aelfric Beaumont. This humble beta wolf welcomes you.” “Fuck you.” Al straight up raised his middle finger at his old beta. The distaste in his eyes were so clear when he addressed Deindra. “Stop calling yourself beta when you only got that place because of your father. It was his last request that I chose to grant. If it were up to me, I would have picked a different beta. Someone who isn’t a spoiled wanna be alpha.” Al smirked. “I let you play alpha for a while, but now that I am back, you retaliate and cry like a baby.” Deindra’s growl almost burst my eardrum, making me wince. I really hope that Al will stop teasing him, especially when his beta has me captive. “But you won’t be Alpha for long, you know.” A cocky grin spreads across Al’s lips. “Are you going to challenge me for the position?” His eyes mo

I felt relieved when I saw Tyrelle standing before us, but it was soon dismissed when I saw the look on his face. It was a mixture torn between anger and regret. “How long have you been hiding, pup?” Al broke the awkward silence by asking him a question. “Enough to hear your sappy backstory.” I am guessing that it was supposed to sound insulting, but the right tone just wasn’t there. In fact, he sounds more sorry than insulting Al. He sighs. “I guess you were not behind her kidnapping, huh.” “You got that right.” Tyrelle must not have liked the arrogance in Al’s voice because this time he starts to frown. He marched over to us until he was just a few meters away from Al and I. “That’s nice and all, but I’ll be taking Gabriella home now.” Tyrelle looks at me, and his expression softens when he smiles. Home. The sound of it just reminded me of my parents. “Tyrelle, how are my parents?” “They’re doing fine. They’re worried. The whole pack is looking for you.” He starts to of

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 44 The Curse Werewolf

Getting chased by wolves should be something that I should be all too familiar with by now. I know that it is kind of sad that I have such a thought, but the world that I am living in isn’t exactly that kind either. I hear the wolf closing in behind me, and this time, I know that I have to act on my own. One of them almost got to me, but I was able to blast it off with a strong gust of wind just enough to send the wolf flying out of my range. There’s no way that I'm going to outrun the wolves. I’m just a mere human - or witch - running in the woods, which is their turf, barefooted. I turned around and waved my hand, sending a cutting beam of light that knocked a branch to the ground and blocked their path. At least that bought me some time. I never thought that there were this many wolves who were against Al as a leader. I know that I have heard a few wolves outside of my room, but not more than a dozen! My feet were bleeding as I climbed a muddy slope. Rocks and branches had pie

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 43 Escape Night

I was chained and bound to the bed when I regained consciousness. Not only that, but I was even blindfolded. Doctor Kusher really knows how to use my limitations to his advantage. He knows that I have trouble using my magic if I can’t see. Since I have no sense of time here because there’s no window and I am usually blindfolded or shrouded in darkness. My only update on the outside world is Julie. She’s usually the one who would give me updates, as she’s the only one that’s assigned to feed me during meals. According to her, Tyrelle is already aware of my disappearance and has his whole pack looking for me. According to her, their first suspect is Al and his pack, which will undoubtedly lead to a pack war soon. I wanted to ask her about my parents, but I did not want to talk to her because I was angry at her betrayal. Hell, I literally can’t even look at her because I am blindfolded! “Gabriella, you can’t ignore me forever.” She says. Her voice is low, like she has regrets. “Ple

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 42 Somewhere Unknown

I woke up in a room that I didn’t recognize. It’s a room with no windows, only a singular door right before the bed that I was sleeping in. I got out of bed immediately and started to look around. I was trying to convince myself not to panic as I headed back to the bed to recall what happened. I looked down at my pajamas and I suddenly remembered how I saw a strange man in my room before everything went dark. I suddenly hugged myself when I shivered out of fear. I was kidnapped. There’s no doubt about that, but the only question I have right now is why? What do these people want with me? I pushed the questions back while I started to head to the door and grabbed the doorknob. I should just ponder my questions later. Right now, I should gather whatever information that I can find inside and outside of this room. There’s really nothing much here aside from a closet, a chair, and a single wooden bed. There was one thing that I did find in the closet, and it was a bathrobe. I wasn’t c

  • Killer Smile   Chapter 41 Not The Right Visitor

Since Al left, I have been feeling burdened by unwanted feelings. I was angry, but at the same time, I was sad and hurt. Those were troubling feelings that burdened my chest so much that I had to distract myself. For the past few days, I have focused intently on learning magic. I broadened my imagination to the point that I could easily manipulate the stream of my powers. Tyrelle hasn’t spoken to me about the events of that day, which I dearly appreciated. Julie, when she found out, wasn’t that thrilled. She was angry to the point where she told me that we should kill Aelfric for his deceit. It was a side of her that I could barely recognize because it was so out of character for her. It scared me, but I did not make any comment about it. “When will you travel back abroad?” Tyrelle and I are in a yogurt shop and eating massive servings of yogurt. Unlike before, we aren’t hanging out like this because we’re trying to fool anyone. It’s just two friends hanging out and talking after s

“That’s it, Gabriella. Your magic is improving and growing stronger.” Doctor Kusher applauds me while I set the levitated books down. I turn to him gratefully. “Thank you, doctor Kusher.” “You seem rather cheerful these days as well.” He noted. “Yes, I am trying to practice how to smile these days.” I confirm. I am still not used to expressing joy on my face because of years of trying to hide it. “I see.” He chuckles. “It’s good to see you smile, so it won’t worry Master Tyrelle.” I look at him oddly. “Worried? Why would he be worried?” Doctor Kusher looks at me with wide and worried eyes. “I’m sorry, but didn’t Master Tyrelle tell you?” “Tell me what?” I suddenly feel a little nervous because Doctor Kusher seems a little troubled. “Well,” He scratches the back of his head and tries to look away and change the topic. “I think it is about time that we end this lesson-” “Doctor Kusher, what is it that you’re not telling me?” I urged him to talk.Doctor Kusher hesitates, but a
