Episode 4

Chapter 4

Maria thought that she heard something. She looked around her and waited to see if she would hear that strange noise again but she didn't. She chucked it up to fatigue and decided that she was over tired which was why she was making things up.

As she got to the ground floor, she saw shadow movements in the wall on the ending of the dark corridors..she knew that place. That was where the old and outdated copies of files that the company owned was kept.

She wondered if there was any department that was on a deadline to meet their targets and needed things from the archive room but her mind came up blank.

She was at a loss. On one hand she was very exhausted and wanted tod o nothing else but head home and sleep for hours without thinking about anything else because she was so tired and she deserved it.

But on the other hand, her curiosity drove her to find out what was happening. She was never one to turn down a challenge. And hell was easier to freeze than getting her to leave when her mind had been made up. She decided to venture and find out what was happening then she heads home.

Adrian watched as the man writhed in pains on the floor, shaking on the ground as if he has been tased. Simon was shaking as Adrian's ears still rang from the scream that came off his mouth when he had broken something in him. Probably his arm or wrist, he didn't really know again. He just knew that he loved torturing him.

"Please have mercy on me, I won't do it again." He begged Adrian who squatted in front of him and said,

"Then you should have thought of it before you took my mother's necklace and jewelry in the first place." He said as Simon got on his knees.

"Please forgive me. I won't do it again. I will change. I promise I will be a better person. I will never steal again.'" he said but Adrian just kicked him before he stood up. Kelvin and two other guards, Ryder and Kenny were waiting for his next orders.

He had gotten what he wanted from Simon but he knew that he was supposed to kill Simon. That was the only way that his soul would be appeased.

"Sir, what do we do? Should we carry out the rest of the plan?" Kenny said as Adrian looked at him and said,

"I will carry out this next part myself..You two can dispose of the body when I am done." He said with seriousness in his tone as Simon heard it and started begging and shouting that Adrian should please set him free.

"Do you want to be the one to kill him or should I?" Kenny asked already getting tired of the man's screams as Adrian bit back a chuckle. Kenny was always the impatient one among the three. He was ruthless and loved finishing missions. He was way to talk to, and followed orders to the teeth unlike some of his counterparts. But he was often unruly and liked to kill before asking questions.

"I will be the one to do it. Hand me your gun?" Adrian said as Kenny handed it to him who checked if there was bullets in the gun before he corked it and removed the safety so that he could shoot with it. He pointed the gun at Simon who trembled in fear and almost pissed on himself.

"Please have mercy on me, Adrian. I know you are not that type of person. Drop the gun and let's talk.i am sure that we would be able to work things out between us somehow." He said.

Maria was walking towards the sounds that was coming out of the basement floor, in one of the storage rooms..this time around she was sure that it wasn't a figment of her imagination but she wondered what someone would be doing there..Were they trying to rob the company? But that was a foolish place to start. That wasn't even the vault or the secret room where a lot of information that could bankrupt the company was.

Maybe it was just some employees moving around some old items into boxes. She tried to assumed since she couldn't actually pick what the words but knew that someone was saying something. Sounded like whispers.

"You should have thought twice before you killed my mother. What? You never heard of the saying again, an eye for an eye" He said with a sneer on his face.

"Please.... I have kids." He tried again but Adrian shook his head and shot him.

His body dropped on the ground with a heavy thud as Adrian brought down his hand and handed the gun back to Kenny who wiped it.

Maria was breathing heavily as her eyes took in the scene. She has just walked into a murder crime and the dude from earlier was the culprit. She wanted to dial 911 and call the cops but her phone rang, it's shrill ringtone disturbing the whole place as someone said,

"Who is there?" Waiting for nobody she bolted trying to get away when she heard people running after her. Mira was pleading to God to save her life as she tries to rush out of the company and shout for help but she was unfortunate as one of the men caught up to her and dragged her back to the storage room.

"I thought you told me that the whole company was free"Adrian said to the last guard that remained as Kenny exhaled.

"Of course I checked sir. I was very meticulous..he or she may have entered after we all came here." He answered as Adrian raked his hand through his head waiting for Kelvin and Ryder to return with whoever it was.

They had to make sure that nobody knew about what they did today and if that meant eliminating someone else then they would do it.
