"Then I will just have to kill you, you crazy bastard, do you think I'm joking here?" The feminine voice rang out again.
Sure enough when Adrian rounded the corner the voice was coming from in the parking lot, it was the woman, though she had her back to him he could still recognize her blonde hair.
She had a man pinned to the wall in a death grip with her arm on his neck in a strangling manner. He shoved his hands into his suit trousers pocket as he watched them, waiting to see the woman's next move.
"So you think that I slept with you for free huh? Do I look like I am doing charity work? Oh because you saw that I was distracted so you sneaked away but you never thought that I would be back huh?" The woman asked through gritted teeth.
Adrian's eyes darken to the deepest shade of blue, his blood began to boil in anger at the woman's words. He felt his wolf come alive and try to take over his body to snap off the head of the man who touched their little mate but he shoved his wolf back, he did not want to scare his mate with a blood bath.
"Screw you crazy bitch" the man said but the next minute spat out blood as the woman punched him in the mouth.
"Give the lady her money" Adrian has had enough of watching them.
As much as he wanted to wait and watch how the woman would get her money he was getting bored. This was the woman he had been looking for over two weeks, he wanted her now .
The man and the woman turned around slowly to look in the direction Adrian was standing, he smiled smugly when he saw the woman's eyes widen in surprise but the smile came off his face when she quickly controlled her expression and returned her face to the man she still had pinned to the wall.
"I am not giving this bitch no money cause I owe her nothing. She came onto me herself I never invited....." The man stopped mid sentence and his eyes dilated on his face which was bruised from being punched by the woman.
He was frozen with shock as he recognized the man who was standing beside him in the dark parking lot.
Adrian Osiander, king of the underworld. The was the most feared mafia in the whole of Los Angeles. Everyone does their best to stay away from this dreadful man who killed without a second thought.
The man felt himself begin to sweat in places he never knew existed but Adrian had his gaze fixed on the woman and did not even care if he existed.
"I do not like repeating myself" Adrian was getting impatient when he looked at the man and found him staring at him transfixed.
"Of course of course I will quickly give her money to her" the man wasted no time in dipping his hand into his pocket and bringing out some bills which the woman quickly snatched from him.
The man wanted to hurl insulting words at her but wisely bit his lips and kept shut, he sighed in relief when the woman took her hand off his neck to count the money.
He never knew that the woman was very strong and provoked her getting himself into trouble. She was not the first woman he had swindled but this one was not scared of him and what surprised him more was how a little woman like her could have enough strength to pin him to the wall.
He nearly passed out when the woman said that her money was not complete. He really wished that he could strangle her but a pair of devilish eyes was watching him. Even if Adrian was not there, with how strong the woman turned out to be, he doubted that he would be able to strangle her.
Still he tried to say " that.. that's a lot of money I..." He stopped mid sentence when he felt a sudden chill in the air, he felt the hair on his neck rise and he felt fear freeze his heart.
He knew damn well that the chill was coming from the imposing man who was standing with them so he quickly shoved his hands again into his pocket to fish out more money which he handed over to the woman praying that this time it was enough for her because he had no more money.
"It's complete, if you try this nonsense with me again you will never live to tell the story" the woman threatened him.
" Yes yes" he was relieved when she said her money was complete. If not he wouldn't know what to do. He sidestepped the woman and rushed out of the parking lot.
Adrian turned and signaled one of his bodyguards to go after the man. He was not going to let him go after he touched his mate. After the bodyguard left, Adrian returned his gaze back to the woman who was now putting the money she collected from that man Into her pocket with a satisfied expression.
Without sparing the man in front of her a glance the woman proceeded to walk out in the direction the other man went.
"Are you not at least going to say thank you?". That was not what he wanted to ask but the question was out already and he could not take it back.
He heard his bodyguards that were standing within ear shot, gasp at his words but he paid them no attention focusing all his mind on the woman as he moved to block her path.
"And why should I say thank you? I never asked for your help, you were just being such a busybody. I had everything covered before you got here and I would have collected my money one way or the other, don't you see? I didn't really need your help" the woman looked up at the man who was towering over her five feet six figure.
His size was impressive and he also had guards with him, he could easily over power her. She felt her shiver in fear but she did her best to hide it.
Adrian growled at the lack of respect, he wasn't just an underworld boss he was also an Alpha so he and he wolf always wanted to be respected but here was a very little woman disrespecting him. He was going to teach her a lesson but not here, not now.
The first time he met her was here at the club two weeks ago, she was the one who walked up to him not in the least bit scared, surprising him.
She was the one that seduced him that day while he talked business causing him to lose concentration and end the meeting fast enough to get her Into bed and extinguish the fire she lit up in him.
He never knew that sexual act was very pleasurable until he slept with her. Because he always pressed his wolf to the back of his mind anytime he was in human territory it took him longer than it should for him to realize that the woman in his arms was his mate.
When he realized it he decided to keep her so he held her close to him throughout the night for fear that she would disappear. And she did disappear because when he woke up the next day the woman and his two million dollars were gone just like that, into thin air like they never existed.
The only reason why he knew that she did not appear in his dreams and that everything that happened took place in reality, was the indentation on the side of the bed where she lay the night before.
He was not a deep sleeper and with his arms around her she was not supposed to escape but the sneaky woman still managed to slip away from him but not anymore.
He was claiming her as his, whether or not she likes it.
"If you are not going to say thank you then you have to thank me in another way, your pick". It's not like she had any choice but he wanted to play a little game with her.
"I already had everything covered, move it" The woman made to move around him.
" I asked you not to leave, didn't I?" Adrian asked, referring to that night.
His voice came out softer than he wanted it to, surprising both him and his bodyguards who suddenly felt like a different person had taken over his body.
What surprised him even more was when the woman did not even pretend like she knew nothing about what he was saying.
"You are not my boss,". Then, she proceeded to stomp away from him.
For the hundredth time that night Adrian's bodyguards felt like they were suddenly in another world and someone had taken over their boss's body. Because how would that woman disrespect him yet here he was watching the woman with his lower lip curled up in a tiny smirk as she walked off without as much as a backward glance.
Adrian was amused instead of angry as he watched his mate march away getting further and further away from him. She was cute when she bare her claws at him but he was not going to let her go this time around.
"Get her for me" he told Nicole without even looking at him. Adrian's gaze was on the woman that just rounded a corner and disappeared from his sight.
His life will become more interesting with his mate in it. He just knew that.
