I could tell that Everly was uncomfortable when she heard Logan’s voice. She did a damn good job acting as if she had no idea who that was. My little Sprite would make one hell of a poker player. She listened intently when we told her they were looking for their younger sister, being her. Alek was very impressed with her poker face. It is just the two of us today. It is raining outside, so we are stuck in the apartment. Everly didn’t want to go anywhere today. Not that I blame her, we have all been on the go for a while now. I mean, they did finish their tour a couple of months ago. I can’t imagine living on a bus for that long. I start getting restless if I have a flight that lasts more than three or four hours. Right now, she is in the bath. Her back was bothering her, so I ran her a nice hot bath, hoping it would help her muscles. “Thank you for the bath. It helped a lot and it even got your son to calm the hell down.” Everly says. “You are welcome little sprite.
It has been an hour since I arrived at the hospital. Dalton was there, along with Cole, Alayna, and Drew were there. They couldn’t tell me much except that Everly was brought in by an ambulance and unconscious. That freaked me out. Aunt Lisa walked into the room we were all in, and I stood up from my seat. I was glad to see a familiar face here. “Don’t worry, Everly and the baby are going to be ok. They called me since I was her OB-GYN, and I took a look at the baby. He is fine. They are still looking at Everly, but besides a few bruises starting to immerge, she is going to be fine.” Aunt Lisa explains. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding and dropped back into the chair I was sitting in. Aunt Lisa told us that another doctor would talk with us soon. She did let us know that Everly is still unconscious. I left a hand on my shoulder and saw Alek sitting by me. “What the hell happened?” I asked. “Honestly, none of us know too much. We all received a notif
The first thing I notice when I wake up is that Kaden is not in bed. I reach over to find cold sheets on his side of the bed. I was released from the hospital yesterday, and he said he would work from home for the rest of the week. So the fact that he is not in bed is weird. I looked at the clock; it was after nine, so I figured he would be out in the living room. When I walk out into the main living area, I suddenly realize that I am home alone. I grab something to eat and sit down on the couch. My mind starts to conjure up all the reasons that Kaden was not here when he said he would be. I jump when my phone goes off, letting me know there is a text message. (I hope I didn’t wake you up. - Kaden) (No, I just woke up, though. Where are you? - Me) (I am sorry little sprite, but I had to attend a meeting that I was not able to postpone. Ben was able to reschedule everything else but this meeting. Believe me; I hated leaving you there this morning. I should be home in a c
I am fuming. I had set the accident up perfectly, but those two idiots couldn’t even make sure she was hurt. I thought we had succeeded, but Jalyssa told me the next day that Everle was fine, as was the child she was carrying. I had talked with my guys, and they agreed to go to the apartment and rough her up. I really just wanted her away from Kaden so that Jalyssa would be able to make her move. I had also been keeping an eye on Aaron and the boys. We may not be married any longer, but I still wanted to know what was going on with them. I needed to make sure that they never located Everly. Of course, I knew the truth. I knew that she had gone to live with those girls. I also knew they had such a hard time finding her because she had gone on tour with them. I am still not sure how they still haven’t been able to track her down. They have her last name, but the private investigators still can’t find her. Even the ones that I hired can’t find her using her last name. I stil
I checked my phone for the hundredth time today to see no texts or calls from Everly. She went back to work today. I wasn’t overly happy with this, but I know that she loves what she does and that I can’t keep her confined to the apartment all the time. After the attempted break-in, I am unsure if I want her home alone. I still kick myself in the ass. We had stopped to walk with Larry, the leading security guard, during the day, but if we hadn’t, we could have caught those two assholes trying to break in. I am relieved that she is back at the office. Being there, I know that nothing can happen to her. The weekend went well, minus the ass-chewing from Tianya and Kylynn. They were not happy about everything we found out. I talked with Sean on Sunday, and I guess they even got their asses chewed out by Tianya and Kylynn. He said he would look into the security at the apartment, work, and my new house. I think Brent has asked them about security at his house as well. “So we
I am not sure what to make of this meeting. I know Arthur; he and I have been friends since college. He has known Kaden since he was born. When Kaden told me who Everly’s grandparents were, I was shocked. I knew her father came from money, but I had no idea he was an Atherton. Well, his mother was; her family is one of the oldest in the Savannah area. I just assumed that Everly had her father's last name, but Kaden said that she, in fact, does not. This means at some point, she changed her last name. I laughed when Kaden told me that Tianya and Kylynn ripped those boys a new asshole when they told them what had happened while they were in North Carolina. Those two are a handful, and I hope Alek and Brent can handle them. Kaden tried to explain to me what Arthur had told them, but it didn’t make any sense, so I called Arthur up, and he explained what he had told the boys. Again I was surprised. I know Aaron very well. He was one of our good friends in high school. I also k
I knew what dad was trying to tell me at the end of the meeting. He wants me to talk with Everly about her family. I have been putting it off, but I know it can’t be removed any longer. With all this new information and the fact that her grandparents knew where it was this whole time and kept it from her father and brothers, it makes sense to talk with her about it now. I could see her get nervous every time we mentioned her father or brother. I am guessing that she has figured out that we know that she is related to them. It had been an hour or so since the meeting ended, and everyone had left. I figured that it would be easier for us to talk after everyone left and things settled down. The both of us changed after everyone left, and I made some dinner. I could tell that Everly was still nervous, but this had to happen now. “You guys know that I am their sister don’t you?” Everly quietly asks. “Yes little sprite we do. Lance has been suspicious of it for a while but didn
It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders after I told Kaden about my stepmother threatening me. I never told anyone about that, not even Tianya and Kylynn. Mainly because they would have lost their shit and probably gone there and ripped her a new or beat the hell out of her, or both. They never liked her, and if they had known about what she had said back then, all hell would have broken loose. I am sure they will lose their shit when they find out, and I know they will. The guys might be meeting in secret, but they will end up telling what they have found out. I knew Kaden had met with the others yesterday to tell them everything I had told him the night before. I am not sure if they have talked with the others yet. I knew that the others had always suspected that my stepmother had said something to me that kept e from reaching out to my family, but they never knew what exactly happened that day. I had voiced my thoughts about my stepmother kicking me out,
One Year Later I had no idea that a toddler could move that fast. I am chasing Colton around the backyard. This little guy is quick. He is a year and a half now and growing like a weed. Everly and I got married six months ago, and everything has been great. Leaving him when we went on our honeymoon was hard, but I know he had a blast with his grandparents. He was thrilled when he got a set of golf clubs for Christmas. Dad and Aaron took him golfing when we were on our honeymoon; now, Colton is obsessed with it. He will actually sit there for hours and watch tournaments on tv. I will probably get him some golf lessons in a couple of years. He also loves hockey. That is thanks to Drew. Justin and Tristian. Those three are hockey fanatics and have taken Colton to several games. I laugh when I see Tianya and Kylynn walking over to where we are. They were suspossed to have started their next tour five months ago, but things happened. They had some issues with the recordings
Six months later “Are you laughing at me?” Kaden asks. “Yes, I am. I am sorry but it was funny.” I tell him. Kaden is a wonderful father to Colton. Colton loves being with his father. I am glad they have such a fantastic relationship, even if Colton is only six months. I can’t help but laugh at the two of them. Kaden was changing Colton’s diaper, and Colton just peed on his father. I was told stories about incidents like this happening, and luckily this is the first time that this has happened to Kaden. I walk over and take Colton from Kaden so he can get cleaned up. I laugh some more when Kaden pouts as he walks to our room. I am in love with our house. When Kaden showed me Colton’s nursery, I cried. I couldn’t believe he had done that for me. The nursery was set up perfectly, and I didn’t change a thing about it. I was surprised to see the glider there, but I love that. That is where I sit when I feed Colton. I love this little man so much. I am surprised that he
I let out a groan as I opened my eyes. The room was dimly lit, which I was thankful for. I looked at the wall, and it was plain white. I knew it wasn’t the room that I was being held in, but I had no idea where this room was. I could smell disinfectant and hear several different beeping sounds. I looked around and realized I was in the hospital. I immediately tried to get up but almost screamed as pain ripped through my stomach. I placed a hand on my stomach to find it soft and flat. I started to freak out when I didn’t feel my hard baby belly anymore. “Calm down, little sprite. Everything is fine.” Kaden says. I look to where his voice came from to see him standing there. His hand is on my arm, making me stay in bed. I look at him, and I can feel the tears in my eyes. I remember hearing several voices, and then the pain started. Shit, I went into labor at that damn house. I also remember seeing blood before I passed out. “Did I lose…” I start to say. “Hush, our litt
I was beyond pissed off. Not only had these assholes been playing games with us for almost a year now they had officially crossed the line. They had kidnapped Everly. I knew the moment Gio walked in that something was wrong. When he said that Everly had gone to meet me at the house after she had received a text from me, I knew they had her. I called Sean immediately and told him what had happened and that Everly had been taken. I could hear him growl on the other end of the line. He told us to meet at the house since she was taken from that place. There were several cars there when we pulled up. “Shit when did they get back?” Gio asked. Standing there arguing with Doug was none other than Tianya and Kylynn. They weren’t due back until tomorrow. I watch as everyone walks into the house. The five of us hurried inside, and I was surprised to see Dad there. He held up Everly’s handbag, and a new wave of anger rushed threw me. I grabbed it and started digging through it. I f
I slowly open my eyes. I almost get them open when I close them again quickly. The light in this room is blinding. I slowly open my eyes again and try to sit up. A bolt of pain rips through my head, making me grab it. I feel a large bump, and my hand comes in contact with something dry and crusty in my hair. I gingerly scoot back until my back hits the wall. I keep my eyes closed until my head stops spinning. I open them again and look around. I am in what appears to be a bedroom. I don’t recognize anything in this room. I sit there for a while, trying to figure out where I am when things slowly start coming back to me.__FLASHBACK__I had been fed up with being at the apartment and wanted to get out of the house. I jumped into the shower. I had a sweater dres
Three weeks is all we have left until our little man arrives. Aunt Lisa told us today that he could really arrive any day. I can tell that Everly is both excited and anxious. Honestly, I am feeling the same way. I still can’t believe that the birth of my son is that close. It seemed like yesterday when Everly walked into that meeting, and then I found out she was pregnant with my son. “You looked stressed,” Lance says. “I am not stressed. I am more anxious than anything. There are only three weeks left until the baby is here. Aunt Lisa told us that he could literally arrive any day now.” I reply. “Everything will be fine. Both of you have tons of support. I will admit your cousin is a big fucking crybaby.” Lance states.
Two more months is all I have left. Thank god, I am over being pregnant. I love my son and feel him move around, but my back is killing me. My feet hurt, and I feel like an overfilled water balloon. I am getting very worried that if he grows any more that I won’t be able to have him naturally. Aunt Lisa told me at my monthly appointment that everything was looking good. From her estimates, she says that he is 7lbs, maybe even a bit over that right now. Of course, that pushed me into overthinking mode. I shudder when I realize that if he gains a pound or more a month until I give birth, he could weigh 9lbs or more. There is no way I can push that out of my body. I can feel the panic attack starting.“Ok, you need to calm down. Everything is going to be fine.” Claire says.&
I am worried about Everly. She has been acting strange this last week. I know it has nothing to do with the pregnancy, so something else is happening. She doesn’t seem any more stressed than normal. I can tell that these last three months are going to be the hardest for her. Our little man has grown considerably, and Everly has been complaining of back pain. I make sure to run her a nice hot bath every night, which she enjoys, along with her nightly foot massages. I love seeing her pregnant with my son, but I also hate seeing her in pain. I talked with Aunt Lisa earlier, but she told me that there is nothing she can really do. She told me that this is normal for being in her third trimester of pregnancy. I hate that there is nothing I can do to help her. Aunt Lisa said doing the little things that I have been a big help in keeping Everly comfortable. I am glad she has stoppe
We met with Arthur two days ago, and I am still processing what he told us. I was expecting the mystery person to be one of moms relatives, but I was not expecting it to be my grandmother and one of my aunts. Ironically the two mystery people that showed up with the lawyer are the same to that randomly showed up that day at mom and dads and made a huge scene. I am not sure what to think. I looked at mom, and she didn’t seem surprised at all. Everly and dad were on the way to the airport to pick up Gio. He finally got everything straightened out with his family. He said that his dad is doing good and should be getting out of the hospital in a couple more days. They wanted to make sure there were no other clots anywhere before they sent him home.“How are you holding up?” Brent asks.&l
