hmmmm
HENRY'S POV She must think I'm an asshole. Maybe because I am. And also because I have to be fair, or at least try to be.Reid turned up with a black eye, so I didn't need to do anything but give him some more threats, like peeling his skin off and feeding it to mountain bears, squeezing out every drop of his blood to feed rogues. You know, the usual stuff and when I saw that he had paled, I let him go for the rest of the day. But then I had to punish both of them in front of all the other survivors so they know not to try such again.Nothing enforces a rule to a bunch of youngsters like a scapegoat. The nepo boy amazed me and handled his punishment rather well, unlike feisty over here. Huffing and struggling through the laps.I'm sure its harder because she thinks she didn't deserve it, but there was no excuse for almost ripping out his eye. Even if he attacked first. Ryder and I were perfectly present and ready to handle the situation if she had just learnt to control herself.Of co
HENRY'S POV"Psst." Harper, one of my guards on patrol nudges the other as feisty walks out of her tent once again. Baths have been reduced to once in two days because the regions are getting colder and we are finding less water bodies as we travel. At this point, I just want to be home in my own bed again. This journey has lasted a whole week and five days of pure disdain having to entertain a bunch of teenagers and children."There she goes again." He replies."Want to go watch?." Harper asks and my fists squeeze into a ball. Usually when everyone else bathes, all females go first, logically, then the men and finally children. Its common sense to not want to peek at them, we're in the middle of a freaking war. Romance should be the last thing on anyone's mind.I know that a lot of people are hooking up, some girls from Rocky mountains with boys from Blue ivy. But I can't penalize anyone, if its prohibited, they'd do it anyway and I'll have to keep dealing with punishing them every ti
HENRY'S POV"No, don't say that, you saved us, almost a hundred people." She says. Her words surprise me a little bit, because I was under the impression that she hated that they were being "saved" to Red Fire. In fact Lexa had on occasions mentioned that we were probably taking them to become slaves in Red Fire; mopping floors and cooking all day. It’s a laughable notion because Red Fire is a large pack and definitely self sufficient. We didn't need slaves, people had their jobs and did it remarkably well."Well, I have also killed hundreds of people." A very true fact."Sure there are a lot of rumors about you, and you are a complete pain in the neck, but you're not all that bad." She smiles."Like my mom would say, people give all sort of names to things they don't understand because they are scared of it." Her mother sounded like a very wise woman, I am beginning to understand why all three of them seem very much grounded than the others in the lot."The first time we met, you sav
AZALEA'S POV"So you're in this position," His slow whispers tickling the hairs on my neck and ear. I nod, focusing on my breathing instead of the way my stomach plummet or the way my heart raced or the way a million sparks and goosebumps covers my skin each time he touches me. I wonder if becoming stronger is as easy as he said with my current distracted state. I shake out of my own thoughts and focus on the training at hand. Its just the two of us once again in the dark training ground. "My right arm around your neck and possibly a weapon to your head, what you do is you to take this your left arm and will angle out your elbow and make a fist then you take your right hand over that fist to make a really strong powerful jab to the side of the person.""Yeah I got it. So I do this?." I ask."When your opponent is monetarily disarmed, you grab his right arm that was around your neck and twist it all the way to his back." He said demonstrating slowly, till my right arm was touching my
HENRY'S POVI spent the better part of the night planning a new defense formation against the Rogue attack and the Black Lotus packs. It was difficult dealing with such inexperienced group of fighters unlike my seasoned soldiers, but it had to be done. And I am sure I have made it abundantly clear multiple times that everyone had a responsibility to keep themselves alive. I can not be every body's savior even if I wanted to.I sigh to myself again, recounting the night's troubles. Failing to detect the Rogue in time was definitely a problem, one I took full responsibility for. After all I was the alpha, but it made me question many things I thought I knew.I decided to forget sleep and do another lap round the entire camp to look for clues. I made my way back to the camp fire where Lexa had been attacked and sat for a while, beckoning on the help of my ancestors to at least find an answer or I would run mad.I was so close to giving up when I caught the whiff of something, - it was ver
AZALEA'S POV"Welcome Survivors!. " Alpha Henry's stern voice fills the air immediately I arrive, startling the sleep out of me. We all scurry into lines to listen as he takes his position on the huge rock."Today will be our last day in this camp as we advance once more, the mountains will only get steeper from here, and the night colder. I don't know what stories you've heard about the north before now, but take that and double it."People began to murmur."So no more slacking, this is war, you need to prepared, most of your training till now has been in human." he takes a dramatic pause, letting the tension build."As you know Black Lotus does not fight in human form, that means we will soon begin training with your wolves.""So why have we been doing all these stupid ass training if we are fighting as wolves?." Reid shouts from the crowd and others begin to whisper in agreement."I'm glad you asked." Alpha Henry jumps down from his rock and walks to Reid, the whole training ground
HENRY'S POVI got off the transmitter with Eli back home telling him our plans and resume my tinkering. While the counsel of elders think my years in the human world have clouded my judgement, I managed to get a degree in Robotics and Machine learning which has been a huge blessing these past years.Back then I didn't know what I needed it for but it was the most exciting thing I could find to fill time when I returned to pack life and began crafting other measures for safety.Only Eli, Cedric and Ryder know about this, but I have been experimenting building a stronger electromagnetic field around the park land and perimeters able to not just prevent entry, but launch attacks on its own. The problem with this is the vast area of the alliance packs. We would have to build several grids in ten different areas. Our pack is wealthy, but the type of money needed is huge. Pack life thrives in the wild, concealed in deep dark unspoiled forests, building these magnetic grids might also jeopard
AZALEA'S POVThe whole camp were whispering around me as I walked. I hated being the center of attraction like this, but its what it had come to. I didn't really care, I cared that I had impressed Alpha Henry who thought I was weak. But the consequence that comes with impressing him. Sigh."Just the woman I was looking for." Ryder announces with a rather loud voice as he walked up to me and Justin."Looking for?." I ask."Yes, you made quite a spectacle today, I wanted to personally congratulate you." He says with a laugh. Justin join in on the laugh."She is always making a spectacle, she's a total badass." Justin chimes and I send him a frown."I knew I liked you for a reason, miss gold." He says. I see why Alpha Henry trusts Ryder so much, he is the only one who has seen my wolf and has never mentioned it, I used to be worried that he would. He was also the second person to notice how new I was to my wolf. The first being my mate."I have never seen anyone get that close to Alpha He
