When I hear the water finally turn off, my heart stutters a little as a shiver of something that I have never felt before runs through me at coming face-to-face with her again. Not liking this feeling that has shown itself and wanting to look more into it I walk over to the bathroom door and gently knock. She doesn’t answer me, but I know that she is standing just on the other side. I take a breath and say,

“I had some food brought up for you…”

I pause for a moment, hoping that she would open the door, but when she doesn’t, I sigh.

“I will be down the hall in my office if you need me.”

I turn and walk away from the bathroom door, leaving the bedroom and then my champers heading for my office. I open my private office door, walk in, close it, and then walk over and around my desk. I sit in my chair and go over my feelings. Eldridge chuckles at me.

“It’s called fear, my friend.”
