116 - Finally, Home

I was bursting with anxiety as we descended at the pack’s airport. I just wanted to get home and see the most precious things in my life running towards me. Goodness, a month without seeing them felt like an eternity. So, I got into my car as quickly as possible.

When I arrived home, the familiar sight of our residence brought immediate relief. The sky was beginning to darken, and the house lights glowed warmly. I pulled the car into the garage and ran out, unable to contain the anxiety that consumed me.

When I opened the front door, the house was silent. The anticipation in the air felt almost palpable. Jaden was right behind me, looking as anxious as I was, but with a calmer, more serene expression.

“Home sweet home,” he said, taking a deep breath.

“Let’s go, let’s go,” I said, my voice trembling with emotion. “I can’t wait to see the kids.”

Jaden smiled, his expression reflecting the same anxiety I felt. “Me too. They must be excited to see us.”

We quickly took the elevator upstair
