Dr Amanda’s POV
I have been standing by the door. I am also acquainted with Mary, she basically raised me during my middle school when my parents were busy with their work abroad. I have been crying since I heard of the incident.
But for Kate, her blood pressure is already high she needs to consider her condition.
“Kate,” I called, “remember your condition, calm down.”
Emma’s POV
The main target of the attack was Kate, luckily she was not around. That means that the culprit behind the murder, is preventing us from finding something.
“Who is Kate really?” I found myself asking. According to her she doesn’t remember her parents and her childhood.
Melissa’s POV
I have to quickly arrange Mary’s burial. I placed a call to her parish. We agreed for the burial to be on Friday.
Now, within two months I lost both Albert and Mary. The way am seeing it, the major target is not just Kate but both of us.
I quickly ca
Stanley’s POV For some reason, I felt the same way when she told me her name the day we met. “ Well, she is not the only Zainab, even though it sounds familiar….” Emma’s POV “It sounded familiar to you as well?” I asked and he nodded in affirmation. “ I want to investigate this case properly, may be we are missing a major key to deciphering the motives of the culprit.” Stanley’s POV “It is for revenge” I answered. I saw that Emma was puzzled. “From my point of view, the culprit is someone near who was hurt and decided to take revenge.” Emma’s POV Stanley is not just my beloved bro, but he is very smart as well. Each time I discuss a case with him, he helps me to clearly decipher clues from the evidence provided. “Do you mind joining our team as a legal adviser?” I asked. Stanley’s POV “You are hilarious” I answered. But his face shows that he is serious. “Seriously?” I asked to ascertain what was going on. “How
Vin’s POVAfter the burial, I assisted the sheriff back to his car and drove him back home.Afterwards, I went back to the station to catch up with Lynn about the analysis of the shoe prints. It turned out to be the same with the one found in the previous crime scenes.“That means that it’s done by the same person,” I shouted. “What is the problem?” it was KaylaKayla’s POVI came to pick up some stuff I will be needing on this weekend. Then, I overheard Vin.When he finished the explanation, I was sad however I have had enough for the day.“ Vin I think we should leave this till Monday, everybody is already tired as is it,” I advised. He nodded in agreement.I have plans with Eddie this weekend, more especially I really need a breather.Vin’s POVI needed a break too, so I asked Lynn out for some drinks in the evening. To my surprise she agreed. I
Melissa’s POVI was considering cancelling the settlement signing, even though my firm will not exactly be happy but, I don’t want to leave Kate alone in the house especially after the murder of Mary.As I was contemplating on the best decision to make, Kate came and told me of Emma’s offer. I am really happy for her.“That is great, what a relief!” I exclaimed in joy.Kate’s POVI have to prepare for the vacation, I have not been to one not since Albert took me to there summer house six months ago. This time around Emma said we are going with Stanley, Emily, Kayla and Eddie. Am looking forward to meeting Emily and Eddie.Emma’s POV“Bro!” I shouted with excitement, “she agreed! She agreed.” I was so excited. “Am happy for you man” Stanley said with a smile.Stanley’s POVEmily roped me into this, I was not planning on inviting Kat
Emma’s POV“OMG! You look amazing,” I said as she stepped out. “Thank you” she said with a smile. We both took off to the vacation camp in the Winster county woods.Emily’s POVThroughout the past week, I have seen how depressed and troubled everyone was. Therefore, I planned this vacation to ease the tension, coincidentally it was agreed on by everyone.“Babe am ready let’s get going” Stanley announced stepping out with our bags to put it in the car. Afterwards, we left.We got to the camp, Emma, Kate, Kayla and Eddie were already there. We started making camp. Everybody with their partner.“Why the extra…?” Stanley asked. I didn’t let him finish, “it is a surprise I said.” “You are full of surprises babe” he said and planted a kiss on my lips.It was as though everyone was watching us they all cheered us on,” so sweet.&
Eddie’s POV For some reasons, I felt shy as all my friends were now looking at me. With boldness, I pulled up Kayla from where she was seated and proposed to her. She accepted. Kayla’s POV From the time we went for hunting, Eddie has been looking at me differently. I felt pleasant about it. After the games he cleared his throat. My heart beats increased, I was shaking all over, he then pulled me and knelt down with one knee. “Kayla Winston, will you marry me?” he asked. I couldn’t resist that charm and intensity of looks. “Yes Eddie, I will marry you,” I said amidst tears. All of our friends we laughing and very happy for me. Kate’s POV After the proposal, all of us were ecstatic, these are the type of people I need in my life. They are the best. I saw the light dimly lit Emma’s face as he was laughing and clapping. I know then that I have completely fallen for Emma Well. Emily’s POV This was the best va
Emma’s POVI know some people might think that I am a geek, but I have not have the nerve to call Kate since I dropped her off after the weekend vacation, we only chat. For me, there are lots of work yet to be done in Winster county. I have to ensure the security of my friends and loved ones, it is a top priority for me.“We have not concluded the case about Mary’s murder…”Vin’s POV“That’s true, we have to get back to where we stopped.” Even though we are all excited, the sinister forces of darkness masquerading Winster county have not been unmasked.Agent Tom’s POVI have finally discovered the key for the Chip. The chip was encrypted with a particular name which serves as the password.“Let’s start with the chip,” I suggested as I entered the sheriff’s office.I brought out the chip and explained everything to them, “I think we
Sheriff Morgan’s POVI have been a detective for over twenty years, but I have never imagined Smith to be that kind of person.“Smith Connor?” I asked to be sure of what I just discovered. Not just me everyone were stunned by this piece of information.Vin’s POVSo Smith is the boss we have been looking for, this is quite unbelievable. “We don’t even have evidence,” I said anxiously.“Sure, we do” said agent Tom. “Albert have prepared all the things needed.” “Why did he not convict him?” I askedKate’s POVThis is insane, Smith is more like a father to me. To the best of my knowledge he is one of the most important people in Albert’s life.I cried for a long time, for some reasons I have always felt an eerie atmosphere back in the day at Smith’s bar. “Albert died for this, trying to protect you, what of me?” I kept asking
Melissa’s POVI decided to visit Smith this evening, I stopped at his bar on my way back. I chatted with him about random things and the recent development in Winster county. He was calm through the whole discussion, the calmer he was, the more suspicious I became.“Give me one glass of beer with ice,” I said after discussing with him. I wanted to observe the environment. I sat at the end of the exit.Smith’s POVMy bar have become the centre of attraction recently. They think I don’t know but I know everything going on in this county. First was the detectives, then agent Tom and now is Melissa.I think things are going to be bloody very soon. Therefore, I called Tanner and Chris over.Tanner’s POVI have been tailing old Morgan since he came back from the hospital, I am presuming something fishy is going on, so I was not surprised when the boss called us over.“The boss needs us asap,&
Emma’s POV I put on the radio, the news was already everywhere about Kate’s running for mayorial office. I was pleasantly surprised by her decision even after everything she had been through for years she still came out better. I am very happy for her. On getting to the station, Kayla, Vin and Lynn were very excited and happy for her. It was like I was the one running for office, I felt huge burden on me each time I remember that. The news turned Winster county mayorial candidates upside down; because right now Kate is the most popular person in Winster county. Stanley’s POV The campaign was hectic for me because she made me her campaign manager. We focused on reaching out to the youth in correctional facilities, women empowerment and environmental preservation. Before the election, Kate already has 70% of the polls. I have not had a good sleep since then, but I was very happy. This is one of the things I love doing. Helping Kate is li
Kate’s POV I was at loss on what to wear. Even though we have dated for long, I rejected his proposal once. Then our relationship became cold. But since I came back to Winster county, my heart has been skipping each time I see him. Finally, I saw the pink gown I have been looking for. It was Emma that bought it for me. It was already 7pm, I dressed up as early as 6:40pm occasionally sweating. Finally, he called me that he has come to pick me up. Melissa was very supportive and excited for me. As I stepped out, I saw him standing near his car dressed in black tuxedo suit. He came forward and took my hands. Emma’s POV I decided to look good today. I even went to the salon to cut my hair and sideburns. I was leaning on my car waiting for her to come out. Finally, she came out. She looks very beautiful in that pink gown. “Where are we going?” she asked. “It is a secret,” I answered. We arrive
Kate’s POV I have not seen Chris for three years. He looks healthy and happy. “I am doing great,” I answered. I saw that he has really changed. He was very excited to see me. “When is your parole coming up?” “Few months from now, after which I will do community service for one.” “Where do you want to serve?” I asked out of curiosity. “Youth correctional facility centre,” he answered. After Chris, the next stop for us was Tanner’s. He looked younger than he was before. Maybe it is because of his low cut hair. “Kate, it has been a long time; you look great,” he complimented. I smiled. “How are you doing?” I asked Tanner’s POV Kate was the first person that ever treated me like a human being. It is such a pity that I was a jerk back then. I don’t deserve her. “I am doing great, I have been to therapy. I am healing and working as well.” Kate’s POV I was pleasantly surprised. “That means that
Kate’s POV I was a bit nervous when climbing the podium, but now all my fear seems to have disappeared. The sound of people’s applause was deafening. I smiled, I believe I did well. People were coming up to me for photos and autographs. “What is going on?” I asked myself. I could see Emma among the crowd. He gave me a thumbs up and winked at me. Even though I rejected his proposal one year ago, he has always been there for me. My heart is beginning to open to the idea of marriage. Vin’s POV I and Emily prepared the venue for the dinner. Emily is always meticulous with such things. We booked a restaurant down the alley of Park Avenue. After the anniversary we all moved there. The old gang: Emma, Lynn, Kayla, Kate, Stanley, Dr Amanda, Emily, myself and Eddie who is joining us for the first time. “Welcome back Kate!” we all chorused as she stepped in with Emma. She was still a bit bashful! Emily’s POV
Emma’s POV We chatted with Melissa for a long time. Albert was playing around the house. It is already 3pm, we have to get going for the requiem mass for sheriff Morgan’s anniversary. “Be a good boy and listen to grandma. Mommy have to meet some friends,” she instructed Albert. He nodded and ran off playing with Melissa. As we were exiting the house we could hear him and Melissa playing and laughing. I held Kate tightly with as we entered the car to attend the anniversary. Kate’s POV When we got there, I was really surprised. The whole place was quite different from what it was three years ago. Interesting! As I stepped out of the car, I saw Kayla. She was the first to greet me. The last time I saw her was when they bid me farewell at the airport. “How have you been?” I asked. My eyes immediately went to the flashy ring on her fingers. “Congratulations to you and Eddie!” I could see the bulge that has began to f
Stanley’s POV “What gave you the confidence to defend Chris and Tanner?” I scratched my chin for answers. “ Everyone has the right to be heard. When I heard their stories, it reminded me of the daily struggles of many indigent teenagers.” “Were you pleased with the results?” she asked.I laughed heartily. “Of course. That was one of my most memorable cases ever. It reminded me that once we put hope in people they are bound to reciprocate it with love.” Emma’s POV “How do you feel about being the new Sheriff?” she asked “I feel nervous and excited at the same time.” “What ideals do you want to uphold as the sheriff?” “Security, peace, hope and inclusiveness,” I answered. She asked Kayla, Vin and Lynn different questions from work to their personal lives and what have you. Finally she turned to Kate and asked her, “what is your plan for the future?” We all turned and steadied our eyes on her. “I want to be
Agent Tom’s POV I wrote to the agency and they gave me a written statement which I submitted to the judges. That was the least I could do for Tanner. As the police were leading him away, he said the three words I have been waiting to hear for the past 19 years: “ I forgive you.” Emma’s POV Today is sheriff Morgan’s burial. We all stood up in our black suit to observe a minute silence for him. All us were sad. But deep down, we are happy that we were able to make Winster county peaceful again. Vin’s POV I was nominated to eulogize the deceased sheriff Morgan. He was like a father figure to me. “For over ten years, he had sleepless nights working night and day to ensure the safety of all in Winster county. I remembered his face each time he remembers his retirement coming up next year June. He would laugh happily and envision the various adventures he will undertake… but we lost him due to inhumanity and despicable
Melissa’s POV I have heard what I wanted to hear. I sat still on the chair as they led him back to the cell. Maybe it would have been better, if I didn’t know what happened. I regretted coming to the station. As I was thinking about it, my head became hot. I couldn’t see clearly again. The next time I woke up, I was on my bed. I don’t know how many hours I blanked out. Kate’s POV I chatted with Emma and Kayla for over an hour. We became worried about Melissa. So we went inside, on getting there Vin was already leading Smith away. Melissa collapsed. Emma and Kayla carried to our car. I drove her back. I called her doctor and explained what happened. He came and administered some medications to her. I have been excited the whole evening because tomorrow is Smith’s trial. Many media outlets will be covering the story. Stanley already told me that the judgment is by 10am. I am sure that the whole or at least three-q
Melissa’s POV I initially planned to go alone. But Kate is a welcomed distraction, if not I wouldn’t have obliged. I kept checking my watch, by 9am I left the house. On getting to the station, I have lots of questions in my mind. I saw Kate talking to Emma and Kayla. After sometime, they brought me inside the waiting room. Kate’s POV I explained to Emma that Melissa is not in her right mind. That they should keep watch. So he assigned Vin to oversee the whole incident. I on the other hand joined in Emma and Kayla in the lobby enjoying the early morning summer sun. Smith’s POV I was surprised when I saw Melissa in the waiting room. The way she was looking haggard made me happy. I smiled and sat across her from the table. Her whole facial expressions and the wrinkles on her face gave joy. “How did you meet Max?” she asked me. I didn’t want to answer before, however now that I know I can’t escape, I
