Chapter Thirty Five

It took over an hour drive for Nena and Lucile to arrive at the Johnson’s home. Lucile’s parents were already there awaiting their arrival for a minute now.

They reached the compound and Nena parked her vehicle at their garage. Lucile was the first person that elated the vehicle and Nena followed suite a minute later. Both their faces were pale, obviously from the confession that Lucile had just shared earlier while In the car. Nena was filled with rage.

The realisation that she had just convicted the wrong person of a heinous crime and sent him away for a very long time didn’t sit right with her at all. It didn’t feel like a win to her anymore. It didn’t feel like justice.

She had convicted many of several crimes before but had never bothered to ask for the true story. Her work ethics didn’t permit her to inquire for the truth but rather for only evidences that will help her win the case and convict the felon of the indicted
