Fifty Five

Melody's POV:

I was wrong.

I should possibly restrain myself from hoping the best. Because Asher didn't come.

I reached the Grand Park ten minutes before the time we had agreed on. I hadn't told anyone, not even Amelia. She just knew I was in the library. I had sat on the bench looking around for him.

He hadn't come.

Part of me was kind of expecting that all along. Why in the world would he even take it seriously since I practically told him about that at midnight? Most of all, why in the world would he even take me seriously?

I had stayed there for a whole hour, hoping I was wrong and he would come. But people had started retreating, and so did I.

And most worst of all, when I went back to the dormitory, I had seen a mail for me. A mail from my Dad asking me to visit the principal's office for my scheduled counselor's meeting. Believe me, I've never felt more unlucky. I guess I had some talk to do with my dad. But right now, I headed off to the principal's office.
