Eustace could have dodged her, but he did not move out of the way. Instead, he allowed her to pounce on him and tear at his shirt. He simply smiled at her as he kept his eyes wide open. He wanted to see every minute detail of the fate that awaited Xavia for abandoning her daughter. He wanted to witness her downfall, he wanted to see her cry the tears of regret, and above all, he needed to acknowledge how blind he was in the past.

He had nearly forfeited his life to be with her. She was unworthy of all the sacrifices he had made, and today, her retribution had finally arrived.
