Pete had spent yet another sleepless night thinking about what Pam had told him. He had gone to Jess’s apartment and turned everything upside down looking for a single clue that would give credibility to Pam’s claim. He had found nothing. He then spent a good part of the night going through the secret camera’s he had installed in William’s office. He had previously installed surveillance cameras in all of the managerial offices at NextGen. He intended to use this for his own blackmail if things ever turned against him. He opened William’s file which had been relatively harmless so far. Pete scrolled through footage quickly, concentrating on the clips where Jess was involved. He was surprised when all he could come up with was one hug. He then hacked into Jess's phone and went through the many messages they had exchanged with William. All he could find was back and forth correspondence about Williams' social me
Jack was sitting in Margaret’s house going through a file with several important documents. He had already finished transferring the deed of his house to Jess and he had also made her the only next of kin and the only dependent that was eligible to all the money that was in his accounts. He had also just received a big cheque to cover his disability claim. This was the cheque that he had been waiting for the company to clear for years. He had deposited it into his account and he smiled as he looked at his bank balance. Jessica had been such a good child, and she had provided for him when he had nothing to his name. Now he was going to reward her so that she could live the rest of her life in comfort. She was not going to suffer again and no one would take advantage of her like Margaret had planned. He was now satisfied that he was going to leave his daughter’s inheritance in safe hands. He collected all the files and decided to take them to
William had sat in his car for a few minutes after he left Jess’s apartment. He had desperately wanted to go back and talk some sense into her but he knew she needed time. As he finally convinced himself to leave, he saw Pete walking towards the lift carrying a shopping bag. He couldn't hide his disgust as he remembered how vicious this man could get. He had seen photos of him beating up people who had stolen from him, and he was rumored to be even more cruel to anyone who crossed him. Jess had assured William that they had separated, but she was not ready to be with him because she feared his family. William watched Pete enter the lift and he felt a sinking feeling enveloping him. He hoped that Pete would not convince Jess to forgive him and rekindle their relationship. Unfortunately there was nothing William could do. The decision was hers and hers alone. The following morning, William went t
As Pete was pulling out of the parking lot, William was driving in. He had been informed of Jess’s whereabouts by his informant and he had rushed to the hospital immediately after the meeting ended. He rushed into the hospital and was informed that he only had fifteen minutes before the visiting hour was over. He rushed to Jess’s room but he didn’t find her there. None of the nurses seemed to know where she was until one nurse directed him to Mr. Harris's room. He knocked gently and let himself in. He didn’t know which sight was more sad. Jess in a wheelchair or the old man lying in the bed covered by all sorts of tubes and hooked to monitors. Neither acknowledged his presence and he entered unnoticed.“What happened?” William asked. A startled Jess looked up to find William looking down at her. He looked shocked but also extremely stressed.
It was Friday at NextGen and the office was in the usual weekend mood. Pete had come into work early and he had been working at his desk. He was determined to put on an ordinary front because he intended to make the most of this day. His colleagues at the IT department realized how up beat he was and they all commented on it. He kept telling them how excited he was because things were going really well with his girlfriend. The guys made jokes about how that was a coded message about a wild night in the bedroom and they all had a good laugh about it. Pete did a great deal of maintenance work that morning and then he called it a day at about lunch hour. He bid everyone goodbye and then he dropped by the PR department hoping to spot Pam. He found her heading out for lunch in the company of some of her colleagues. She lagged behind on the corridor when she spotted Pete and walked to him with a big smile.&ldqu
Donald Garcia was one of the most respected and feared businessmen in the city. His empire spread far into the different parts of the country and even his most vicious critics were unaware of the magnitude of his wealth. Donald had properties in all the major cities in the country. He also had some properties outside the country. NextGen was a brand name he had built when he was a young man and he was quite fond of it. The group allowed him to include many properties into his umbrella without having to account for their ownership and management. This arrangement was very beneficial to him because he managed to hide his wealth in the name of a franchise and hospitality group. What most people didn't know was that more than half of the companies under his franchise were owned by him completely. He owned many pieces of real estate that were leased to private companies, individuals and even subleased to other real estate managers. His income w
It was a warm and sunny day and there was a relaxed mood in the air. Jess woke up to the sight of a beautiful room with large windows. The curtains had been drawn so she could see the landscaped gardens with huge trees and lovely purple flowers. The bed she was lying in had white linen and Jess was hooked up to a drip. Her head felt light but most of the pain in her body had lessened in intensity. She was sure this was not the hospital, but there was no one around to ask any questions. Jess sat up and stretched her limbs so that she could get some relief and then she lay on the bed and looked around the room. There was a sofa set not too far from the bed with a large three seater and two one seater chairs. They were served by a coffee table which had a lovely flower arrangement at the center. Next to the sofas was a trolley which had some partially eaten food. Further on closer to the door, there was a small desk with an office chair. The desk had som
Donald had been on the phone getting updates on Jess’s whereabouts. He was aware that she was awake and lucid. He had also been informed that Pete had been more present in the house and it did not look like he would leave any time soon. Donald had just hung up the phone when he realized that Amanda was standing in the doorway.“Come in darling,” he said. A startled Amanda walked into the room and she sat down meekly. Donald rearranged some papers on his desk and then he turned to Amanda.“Is anything the matter?” he asked.“No. I just thought I heard you talking about Pete,” Amanda said.“Yes I have someone watching Pete because I want to get to the bottom of William’s story,” Donald said. “Maybe if
It was 7a.m at the Garcia household. Donald was both angry and frustrated. He had been informed that Jess had been abducted by armed and masked gunmen who had taken her to a different location. What made him angry was that Jess had been taken to his country home that was on the outskirts of the town. Donald had tolerated many of Amanda’s excesses but this time she had gone too far. Donald did not understand why Amanda had kidnapped this girl or what her mission was. Additionally, Donald was made to understand that Pete had been injured in the whole fracas. Donald had lost all sense of respect for Amanda because she did not seem to have the heart of a mother any more. Donald had intended to keep investigating the circumstances but he was overwhelmed by anxiety. He had spent the night in the office trying to collect more information. Now he was back home and Amanda was at the breakfast table. She acted innocent as though nothing was going on, and
Jess's house sat in a compound of eight houses. The houses shared a front yard and main gate although each house had a separate backyard. Jess liked it because it was close to her place of business, but it was convenient and affordable. She had just come home from work and walked into the house. She was startled to hear soft music playing. The windows were open and the curtain swayed gently in response to the breeze. An aroma of meat cooking wafted into the living room as she walked towards the kitchen. She was pleasantly surprised to find William slicing some tomatoes. “Welcome home,” he said as she stood and smiled at him. “I thought someone had broken in,” Jess said, as she walked to William. “What kind of a thief breaks in and starts cooking?” he asked. He pulled her in for a gentle hug a
The afternoon was looking good for Jess after she drove away from the apartment. She had driven around for a few minutes and then she had decided to stop somewhere and collect her thoughts. It was then that she realized that she didn’t have much money and she needed somewhere to spend the night. She decided to drive to her bank and withdraw a substantial amount of money to get her through the week. Once she had done this, she drove to a small guest house on the outskirts of town. She remembered this place from many years ago when she was looking for a cleaning job. The receptionist had been really kind to her although she hadn’t given her a job. Jess had chosen this place because she wanted somewhere safe to park her car which currently held all her belongings. She also needed somewhere without a check out time like in a hotel, because she wanted to spend some time thinking through her next move. She was panicking at the thou
Back at the office, everyone was wondering where Jess had gone. Everyone in her department had seen her being summoned to the MD’s office and then they had seen her pack her things and leave. They all assumed that she had been fired for some grave error. However, none of them could understand why she had not said anything to them. She had left as casually as though she was going to the washroom, only that she was carrying all her belongings. It was therefore a surprise when William came downstairs looking for Jess. He looked round her desk and was surprised to find that her pictures had been taken down.“Where is Jessica Harris?” William asked the person at the next desk.“She left before lunch,” the girl said.“Where did she go?” he asked.
Jess had expected herself to cry after seeing all she had seen today, but it seemed her tears had been exhausted in the chapel. She walked to her car and sat for a minute while she tried to gather her thoughts. She did not want to go to William’s house because his mood had frightened her. However, after a few minutes, she convinced herself to go there so that she could pick up her stuff and then leave. Maybe she could get a chance to ask William what he was talking about and why he was so angry at her. When she got to his house, it was quiet as it had been this morning. Jess packed her things slowly as she was buying time for William to come home. When it got too late, Jess tried to call William but he didn’t respond. She looked around the apartment and felt like she needed to engrave it in her memory. She had been happy here for the time when she had been with William. She was going to miss him but her relationship with Pete
Jess hugged William for a long time and she let him cry on her shoulder. It seemed like he had been crying for hours when he finally calmed down. He lay on her chest as she rubbed his head and gently kissed him. He was tired from all the crying so he simply held her and didn’t say a word. His phone began to ring again while they sat in silence and William picked it up. It was his father asking him to come home. He thought to reject this request but then he thought that his father was the only person who could share in his loss. He told Jess what the plan was and they showered in separate bathrooms. William was not in the state of mind to drive, so Jess drove him home. One of the drivers from the hotel drove her car to the Garcia mansion. When they got there, William asked her to come in for a while but she declined. He hugged her warmly as he took over his car and then they went their separate ways. Jess dropped the driver at the h
Don was having a confused morning. He had been informed that his wife’s condition was deteriorating and there was nothing he could do for her. She allowed him to visit her occasionally although she had adamantly refused to move back home. William also visited her often but he made sure that Pete was not present. It was becoming difficult to achieve this because Pete had moved into the house and he only left when he had other issues to deal with. Don was having a hard time trying to avoid both William and Pete while managing to spend some time with Amanda. She was fading away in front of his eyes so he needed to do as much as possible to help her. However, this morning’s news had caught him by surprise. He had not bothered to check on the updates about Jess recently because her days were rather predictable. She went to work and then home to Pete’s penthouse. Occasionall
Jess woke up to the sound of a trolley being wheeled. She looked around the huge bedroom and noticed that it was just starting to get bright outside. The sun was just rising and Jess smiled as she remembered her night with William. If she had thought that Pete was the most passionate man, then she was wrong. William was a tiger in bed. He had never ending energy and he was eager to please. Jess had enjoyed every minute of their love making. She walked to the shower as she looked around for her clothes. She could only raise a few items, so she showered and put on a bathrobe. When she got out of the shower, William was just walking into the bedroom. He was already fully dressed in his usual immaculate suits.“Good morning,” he said smiling.“Good morning,” she said, smiling back at him. “You are ready so early.&rd
Warning! Sexual content coming upJess had one of the longest days she had ever had at NextGen. She had tried to get the afternoon off immediately she got in but as luck would have it she was chosen for a project. The briefing would be taking place in the afternoon and she didn’t have much of a choice. It was either she forfeits the project by missing the briefing or she takes the afternoon off and plans her move. She decided to take the project and sleep at the apartment until the weekend when she could find time to look for an apartment. Jess went through the day without much contact with her phone because of the busy schedule. By the time it was time to leave the office, she realized that she hadn’t spoken to anyone on the phone all day. As she scrolled through the notifications, she saw two missed calls. One was from Leslie and the other was from Pete. She called back Leslie who wanted her to come
“Good morning,” Jess said when she walked out of the bathroom. Pete was standing by the bed scrolling through his phone. He had just come home and he looked tired.“Good morning,” he said. He looked briefly at her and then looked away. Jess walked to the dressing table and began applying her cosmetics. Pete sat on the bed and was watching Jess from the corner of his eyes. He looked worried like there was something on his mind.“How was work?” Jess asked as she finished at the dressing table. She was taking out clothes from the wardrobe and putting on her underwear.“I wasn’t at work. I was at mum’s house,” Pete said. Jess raised her eyebrows in surprise.“Is everything
