5: No Escape

I sat quite the whole way to my house. He was sitting beside me and we were silent since our last talk. I didn’t wanted to talk or argue with him anymore. I will directly talk to my dad and ask him to get me out of this matter!

I sighed in relief as my mansion view appeared in my sight. I was so happy to see my home. Really we are nothing without our home.

As the car stopped at main entrance, I was quick to unlock the door and get out but halted when I heard him speak, “Don’t be too excited and if you really think your dad will listen to you and get you out of this matter and know it darling that is where you are gravely wrong....”

His cold voice made me shut my eyes in anger. I without giving him a reply got out of the luxurious black BMW car and slammed the door hard.

Quickly running to the mansion I smiled in glee. I cheerfully crossed the door and was quick to run to the main door.

As soon as I entered the mansion I was met with a sullen face of my brother, Leo.

“Leo!” I called him out and his eyes widened in shock as if not believing it is I who was standing in front of him.

“Sapphire.....where have you been?! Do you have any idea what happened here in your absence? Dad was so worried about you and the depression about work that he had a minor heart attack!” Leo exclaimed walking closer to me.

I felt as if the ground beneath me had just split and I had fallen in dark and deep pit. Tears gushed in my eyes and next moment I couldn’t control on my emotions and started crying badly.

“D-Dad! Where is he?! No nothing—.” I was so scared at this point.

After mom died, dad was the only person who took care of all our needs. He loves us so much that he never remarried.

“Sapphire relax he is okay now. He is in his room resting now. If you hadn’t left the house like this without informing us, he might have been in better health.” He tone was so accusing that I was so ashamed to even look in his eyes.

He is correct....only if I had been less selfish things might have ended up differently..

“Ouf! Sapphire I didn’t mean to hurt you! This tension is making me angry. The company will soon be bankrupt and we will have no shelter. That bastard James! He will throw us behind the bars....dad’s condition added more to my worries. I really didn’t wanted to hurt you.” He said regretfully as he walked to me and squeezed my shoulders in concern.

But the damage was done and his words deeply hurt me.

“Okay....” I said as I pulled away from him. I walked straight to my dad’s room with heavy heart.

My dad was sleeping as I entered the room but his eyes jerked open as I walked near to him.

“Sapphire.....where have you been my daughter?... I was so worried.....”

My dad broken voice made me so regret my decision of running away. I was so selfish that I once didn’t think of dad...

“Dad I am sorry....” I said honestly as I sat beside him on the bed.

The door open and my brother walked in.

“Dad how are you feeling.... I got so scared when I came to know you had heart attack....” I told him as a tear spilled from my eyes

“Heart attack?” My dad looked at me and then my brother and then said, “oh yeah..uh it was minor one my dear.” He said assuringly.

“Common dad! Be honest you almost died because of it!” Leo spoke as he walked closer us and sat on the bed.

A gasp left my mouth in horror....

My dad smiled at me painfully before looking at my brother, “I am already dying Leo. I have already lost half my property to Russo....worst I will be sent to prison soon. I have only you two left. My precious children....but Sapphire your sudden disappearance....it made me wonder you don’t care slight about your father.....” A tear rolled down my father eye and I felt my heart shattering. Guilt punched me hard in my gut.

I was so selfish…..I for once didn’t thought how my father will be or how my brother will survive. I only thought about myself and ran away like a coward.

“Dad!…I-I…I am so sorry—.” I was cut of suddenly by my brother loud voice.

“Will your apology heal our father, dear sister? Will it make the fact that dad got heart attack because of you any less!—.

“Leo!” Father tried to hush my brother but their was no stopping to his tongue which was spitting acid on my heart.

“Dad let me talk! She needs to understand that her immature behaviour will get her nowhere! She should act of her age now and understand that our family problems needs to be solved with mutual discussion. Just a little burden and your princess left us to die! Is she even having any idea about what family means?! Ridiculous!” His tone was so harsh but his word were like hammer.

Tears gushed out of my eyes and wasting no second I rushed out of my father room. My father weak voice called after me but I didn’t stopped. I ran away again….

I reached my room and locked the door. Falling on my on my bed a rather harshly, I cried at the cruel manner of my brother.

No sane thought passed my mind till the next two hour. I have no single idea about how to tackle with these unwanted problems in my life. The more depressing part was nobody even came to check on me in these two hours. I feel so depressed after noticing this….

Trrr..Trr….

Selena Calling…..

I took a deep breath and wiped my tears.

“Hey…”

“Hey! Sapphire! We are hitting the club tonight. Your brother told you were on a vacation? You never told us. What’s up? You didn’t picked the call once.”

Selena continued to rant without any stopping.

“Sel….I am in trouble….I need your help…” I let out a cry.

“Hey? Hey are you okay Saph? What’s the matter?” Selena asked immediately cutting me off before I could speak a word more…

“A guy is wants to marry me for the debt we are are indebted to him….”
