I was summoned by Human Resources and talked to her, my boss's girlfriend, about the changes to be made. I asked her the same question: if everything that was happening had to do with their relationship. She told me the same thing: no, and it looked like they had both rehearsed down to the smiles. She also pointed out what she needed from me and things to sign.

There was another surprise: the salary I would be earning from the following fortnight. As I learned more facts, the more I tried to process it all.
